We are down to a Showdown between the Minnesota Wild and the Dallas Stars. The Wild have been one of the biggest surprises of the season as they sit atop the Central Division just ahead of the Nashville Predators. The Stars have been having trouble putting together a complete team and sit in the middle to low part of the standings. Minnesota is definitely the play here though we will grab at least a couple from Dallas. Best wishes to Tanner Kero a Star who took a huge hit the other night that caused him to leave the game.

Here’s a northern lineup For DFS Hockey 12/20/21 (using DraftKings Values)

The player with the highest ceiling is who should be in your Captain spot. We are dropping Cam Talbot in there because he is going to see a lot of shots. He has had a solid campaign so far and the Wild in front of him have been scoring a LOT of goals. They are tied for third in the league in Goals For. We’ve got ourselves a contender here, boys.

We have long been fans of Joel Eriksson Ek the first round pick from several years ago. He has had a steady year over year improvement while fans always cried for more. He has consistently improved his game and began taking full control of a big body. The crazy part is that he is the shortest guy on his line. Marcus Foligno and Jordan Greenway are 6’4” and 6’6” respectively. Ek is a diminutive 6’3”. They are a terror to behold.

Since we cannot give too much away here but do like to offer up free wisdom occasionally, we are just going to put a warning on one player. They may do well enough, but we are cautious about Roope Hintz today. The aforementioned line will probably be sent out to shut him down.

Brandon Duhaime will help you afford every other player out there today. He is only getting fourth line minutes but he is a scrappy player that makes good use of whatever opportunities are given him.

That brings us to the Stars for the lineup. Either of the big two defensemen are going to be worth a look. There will be a lot of rubber to stop and Miro Heiskanen and John Klingberg will be tasked with making sure that doesn’t make it to Talbot.

We are definitely going after Joe Pavelski if only because of his reaction to Tanner Kero leaving the game. He has been in that position before and knows how tough it can be. We look forward to seeing him come out big tonight.

We might just go crazy and take Mats Zuccarello with the funds we have left. He is never on our radar being undersized and on the older end of the spectrum but he still surprises us constantly. He is vibing with this Wild team and is having a whole lot of fun doing it. One of the best smiles in hockey.
