NHL DFS Picks For December 17, 2021

Fluerry + Pacioretty DFS
LAS VEGAS, NV - FEBRUARY 26: Vegas Golden Knights left wing Max Pacioretty (67) and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (29) celebrate after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 during a regular season game Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, in Las Vegas. (Marc Sanchez/Icon Sportswire)

The Buffalo Sabres have murdered Paul Maurice. The longtime Winnipeg Jets coach has resigned after the latest loss which is a rare move these days. Usually a coach needs to be fired to let go of that position. He will be behind an NHL bench again some day. Until then the Jets are a little hard to pick just due to the uncertainty. Let us see how the interim coach does in bringing the boys to task.

Here’s a big lineup For DFS Hockey 12/17/21 (using DraftKings Values)

WingM. Pacioretty$7,900

GoalieT. Jarry$8,400

The Sabres may have won a big game yesterday but they are facing one of the best goaltenders in the league on the back half of two games in a row. Tristan Jarry is a great choice today, if a bit expensive. You can still opt for Anthony Stolarz if he gets the nod. We do not believe he has had this type of workload before though so we are a bit hesitant to see if he can keep this pace up.

Max Pacioretty has as many goals as he has games played. 12. Pile on a bunch of assists and you have one of the best wingers in the game. His price is only going to go up so get in now while it is as low as it will be. This line is going to destroy people when Eichel is back. Until then, Chandler Stephenson remains a solid option to pair with Patches.

It will only save $100 but going after Mark Scheifele has a good vibe to it. He is the captain of a team that just lost their coach. It will be on him to lead the team in the right direction and keep them steady until a fulltime replacement Maurice is found.

Why would we not take Alex Pietrangelo again? He is a god amongst men. It has hurt the stock we have in Shea Theodore who is still no slouch, but we have to go with the big man. He is having a Norris caliber season and we are probably going to watch some of his highlights when we finish this up.

Jonathan Marchessault and Clayton Keller are on our radar today. Marchy has been having a hell of a season and thrives wherever he is put in the lineup. Keller and the Coyotes do have a chance today and it would be a nice regional win. Even take a look at Phil Kessel, especially if you are grilling dogs tonight. Yes, it is perfect grilling weather in Arizona right now.

Justin Faulk is crushing right now and costs a pittance. At $3,500 you could do far worse. The Blues just got Binnington back and that has been a nice burst for them amid an already solid season. If you are still leaning towards the Stars in this tilt then we would take Esa Lindell to get you some sweet blocked shot numbers.

Brandon Saad has been quiet. Too quiet.

It is time to kick it. Hang out on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) or on your couch, wherever is good. We are ready to rock and get some more hockey watching in. Take care.
