NHL DFS Picks For December 15, 2021

Brady Tkachuk
VANCOUVER, BC - JANUARY 25: Vancouver Canucks Goaltender Thatcher Demko (35) makes a save as Defenseman Tyler Myers (57) defends against Ottawa Senators Left Wing Brady Tkachuk (7) during their NHL game at Rogers Arena on January 25, 2021 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The biggest upset of the day was definitely the Ottawa Senators over the Florida Panthers. The Sens offense is no joke. They put up eight on one of the top three teams in the league. If anyone knows of a savvy nickname for the Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson line, please send it in to us. It may not be enough to get them to the playoffs but we are happy they are competitive again.

Everything seems straightforward to us with which teams to go after. The Washington Capitals should handle the Chicago Blackhawks, the Rangers should handle the Coyotes, and we expect that the Ducks dispatch the Kraken. The Kraken represent the biggest chance to upset after they surprised us yesterday and won in San Jose.

Here’s a strong lineup For DFS Hockey 12/15/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Center
Center
WingA. Panarin$7,300
Wing
Wing
DefenseJ. Carlson$7,500
Defense
GoalieA. Stolarz$7,900
Utility

We have mentioned Anthony Stolarz a few times now this season and he is still a strong bet. John Gibson is still day-to-day and the Ducks have all the confidence in their backup. It helps that they did not play yesterday and Seattle did. In fact, we may need to go after a couple of Anaheim’s forwards later in the article.

We will rarely tell you that a player priced over $7,000 is a bargain but this is one of those moments. We have not given Artemi Panarin nearly enough love this year and he is set up for a big night. One of the league’s biggest superstars is staring down one of the lowest teams in the league. Poor Scott Wedgewood does not really stand a chance tonight.

John Carlson was at a very steady point per game pace for the first few months. That has faltered a little bit but he is still playing monster minutes which just gives him more opportunities to get you points. He has a very healthy floor with the shots he takes and is also likely to get you a block or two a game.

Here Is What You Get If You Sign Up For $99 For Six Months
• A discounted top defenseman with higher upside right now over Carlson
• Two of the top five centers from today’s games
• Three players under $3,000 that beef up the middle of your forwards

Patrick Kane or Alex DeBrincat should fit nicely in your roster if you go with some of our cheap picks. They are both top line and top power play giving them all sorts of nice time to score. Kaner needs a decent big game to get himself back into the coveted point per game crowd. Debrincat is not that close to that but when he does get a point it is a goal. Which one are you going after?

There is a decided lack of high end talent today outside Alex Ovechkin and we are not even specifically targeting him. We think we can get a better spread without his price tag. Our top two picks for centers today are Trevor Zegras and Ryan Strome. Zegras needs no introduction after the absurd assist he had that lit the entire sports world on fire. Strome has been a steady presence in New York and is a great stack with Panarin. Consider pairing Zegras with Sonny Milano again and see if they can create that magic one more time.

It is not April Fools but we are going to be pushing Carlson for his pairing mate Martin Fehervary. You could also just pair the two together but we were considering taking Jacob Trouba as our main guy. Trouba has been on a tear and has been leveling player after player to get his goals. Fehervary is worth the look because he has been seeing his minutes increase, is getting in the play, he just has not seen the rewards on the scoresheet yet. He is young and is a name worth remembering.

Our bargain barrel today has Lawson Crouse and Dominik Kubalik in it. Both are excellent goal scorers who have not found their footing yet. They have both scored recently and we like taking them as they try to build on that momentum.

Today has a lot of options and there is a chance you have some coin left over. Upgrading Zegras to Evgeni Kuznetsov would not be a bad play at all.

We are over the hump for the week and have set sail for Friday. For any and all posts and updates, please check out Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). So much to do, but so little time, right? Stay productive.
