NHL DFS Picks For December 1, 2021

Leon Draisaitl DFS

Sergei Bobrovsky may not have won you the night with his fantasy points but he got a big W when the Florida Panthers came back from a 4 – 1 deficit to the Washington Capitals. What an epic third period where they scored four unanswered goals to pull out the victory. Kirill Kaprizov and Ryan Hartman crushed it and made the freebies yesterday a very solid base to start from. Did you also go after Sam Reinhart? What a finish.

There are going to be some tough decisions to make and some fantastic matchup to watch later. We looked back at the Anaheim Ducks strength of schedule and find it to be lacking. It may look like they are tied with Vegas in the standings, but the Golden Knights get the edge here tonight. The Edmonton Oilers are very much the favorite over the Pittsburgh Penguins and we are staying away from the Colorado v Toronto game. We will watch it, but picking players from this monstrous battle just does not feel right.

Here’s a Broadway lineup For DFS Hockey 12/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Our initial reaction to the schedule today was to go after Robin Lehner. He did not allow a goal by McDavid or Drai but let in three more which ultimately led to the Knights falling to the Oilers. The Ducks took a tough loss last night and there is no way there coach is not going to push them tonight to make up for it. This is not as one-sided as it may look. We also considered Mikko Koskinen but remembered that Edmonton’s d-corp is depleted right now. There is so much to consider. We finally landed on Igor Shesterkin. The Rangers are playing above average hockey right now and the Flyers are decidedly below that.  We wanted to save some cash here, but this is the right choice.

Mika Zibanejad has had such a strange career. Going from Ottawa to New York, dealing with some of the worst Covid the league had seen and now the pucks just will not go in the net. He has a very low shooting percentage from a player of this caliber. He is not doing anything wrong, he just needs a little puck luck.

Adam Fox is tied with Artemi Panarin for points leader on the Rangers. We wish he would even out his shots per game a little to get a goal or two more but he is laying the body down for blocks and is almost guaranteed to set up an assist every game.

Just swap out Zibby for Leon Draisaitl now and we will take care of the rest.

Joined at McDavid’s hip these days is Jesse Puljujarvi. There is a lot of potential in this kid and it is a bit surprising to see it take so long given that he plays on the same line as the best player in the world. He still offers a ton of upside for less than $4,000 though and we will not hesitate to grab him. Continuing down the sub-four grand train we see Michael Bunting who is in the same position as Pool-party just stapled to Auston Matthews.  It is a nice big slope upwards for this kid.

Jimothy Timothy. Oh, how we have missed thee. J.T. Miller appears to be trying to take the lead of the room over from Bo Horvat. We loved when Horvat was named captain but something does need to give and Miller is one the most veteran presences on the team. He leads by scoring and this team is ever so slightly regaining control of their situation.

We went big on Adam Fox so our second choice will be a bit cheaper. Filip Hronek and Adam Larsson are worthy of note down here. Hronek had a little hiccup with a minor illness and we expect his time on ice to climb this game. If you are feeling Seattle to take his matchup, flip over to Larsson who will be primarily tasked with blocking shots. Do not let the last two games with points fool you, he is just a high floor player.

Whether you have an extra C or W slot may determine which guy you choose, but a lovely utility pick either can make. Adam Henrique and Trevor Zegras are big time leaders on this team. Now that we think about it,  maybe that is why the team is off to such a hot start, an abundance of good leaders in the room. Getzlaf, Manson and Silfverberg have letters on their chest already, but we can think of a few more like Fowler and Shattenkirk who could easily play that role.Yeah, this is going to be a good game.

Happy hump day all. We are in the full swing of getting things done right now so take it easy, do the Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and we will catch you tomorrow. Later!
