NHL DFS Picks For April 9, 2022

Brady Tkachuk
VANCOUVER, BC - JANUARY 25: Vancouver Canucks Goaltender Thatcher Demko (35) makes a save as Defenseman Tyler Myers (57) defends against Ottawa Senators Left Wing Brady Tkachuk (7) during their NHL game at Rogers Arena on January 25, 2021 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Islanders did the thing and gave the Hurricanes a big loss. They even managed to hold them to a single shot in one period. That is some top notch system design by the coaching staff. Barry Trotz is a legend. Noah Dobson got us five blocks, Brock Nelson chipped in with an assist and Ilya Sorokin was within 60 seconds of a shutout. It took the Canes pulling their goalie to tie the match at one, before the Isles managed to respond and score the game winner 30 seconds later. Our cheaper option over Nelson did score an overtime winner, so we still threaded the needle with solid free value, but better depth for our lovely subscribers. Come on in and join the fun where the real party is at!

GoalieA. Forsberg$7,100

Anton Forsberg has been making the most since gaining the trust of Ottawa’s coaching staff and has been the solid force in net that they have been needing all season. We will truly see him shine next year, but this team is all about exceeding expectations and making other teams lives pure hell. The Rangers have shown some weaknesses of late. Can Igor Shesterkin save them yet again?

We were really hoping that Drake Batherson would be over this stomach bug before today’s matchup but we are more than happy to take Brady Tkachuk in his stead. Tkachuk has six points in his last three games and is close to both 25 goals and 30 assists. He is soaring past his previous career highs and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Josh Norris is another one of those guys to target in later rounds next year if you play roto fantasy. He is building his resume fast and will be a restricted free agent come the end of the season. Tkachuk actually made a public comment recently about how every goal that Norris scores is money in the bank. Cha ching!

Anaheim is finding their mojo again and Anthony Stolarz is finding his groove as well. Do not mind the recent game he dropped, focus on the shutout a game or two before that. Troy Terry is back after getting used as a punching bag by a raging Coyote. He has some more goals to score.

Jakob Markstrom is a king in net. Speaking of shutouts, he leads the league in that category. He represents the lowest risk and his price mostly agrees with that. It actually seems a smidge low, which is a bonus for you if you have the extra cash to spare. The Flames are a wagon, get on now.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is technically down on the third line, but he is also top power play. A versatile player, he notched a short handed goal recently and is a major piece of the Oilers corp. It is hard not to go back to Robert Thomas who scored that dazzling OT winner for us last night. He was one of our secret weapons and came up big. He costs a little more, but he will be doing everything he can to keep that point streak alive.

Do not think too much about defense today. Take two of Ryan PulockErik Karlsson, or Rasmus Andersson. They are in order of highest floor to highest ceiling so choose wisely. Going this route easily means that you get better wings.

We will work our way up to our favorite winger of the day, but let’s build his foundation first. Chandler Stephenson continues to impress no matter where he is in the lineup. He is absurdly cheap and he would be hard to pass up. Andrew Copp is hard to pass up as well. These guys are just so flexible on any roster. Copp is up on the Rangers second line and those are valuable minutes near the likes of Artemi Panarin.

He may not be the most expensive winger out there but Pavel Buchnevich plays like a bat out of hell. Folks like to talk about the depth the Blues have, but this guy is out in front of all that. He is the cream of the crop and plays with a nearly unmatched tenacity. He should have had at least one more goal last night. This kid gets it done.

The slippers and robe are on. The second pot of coffee is brewing and early games are about to start. Should we spike the second coffee? Maybe. Check out all our updates on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and have a pleasant day.
