NHL DFS Picks For April 7, 2021

Auston Matthews
TAMPA, FL - DECEMBER 13: Toronto Maple Leafs center Austin Matthews (34) shoots wide as Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevsky (88) scrambles across the goal in attempt to make a save during the first period of an NHL game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 13, 2018, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. Subscribers had access to the top five winger we hinted at yesterday and Patrick Kane crushed it. Between him and Marchand you would have gotten two goals and four assists. Not bad. It can be tough balancing what we try and get out there for free and making sure we generate value for our awesome subs, but yesterday we rode that line perfectly. Our mystery $3,900 utility player got an assist and three shots and so did our bargain basement $2,500 pick. We have our off days, but when we are on, we are ON!

Here’s a tasty lineup For DFS Hockey picks 4/7/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Matthews$9,000
Center
WingC. Garland$5,800
Wing
Wing
Defense
DefenseS. Girard$4,700
GoalieJ. Campbell$8,100
Utility $4,100

We have spun the wheel of superstars and landed on Auston Matthews. You know why he is worth it. If you do not, that is ok, we will say that his price tag does meet the value he brings to the ice. He is a generational talent.

Don’t look now but the Arizona Coyotes are on a roll. They are sitting in a playoff spot and are hungry for more. Conor Garland is having a great season but being buried in the desert means he does not get any airtime. The Yotes have a good matchup against the Kings and we are looking forward to watching him tonight.

Sam Girard is another name that deserves more recognition. With guys like Makar, Toews, and Byram getting all the limelight, Girard has been relegated to the second page. He is playing upwards of 26 minutes a night and has 25 assists to back it up.

Jack Campbell. We cannot say why we are taking him. Just knock on some wood when you do so.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A player or two looking to do damage against the Avalanche
  • A recently traded center who had a big night with his new team
  • Another second page defenseman that no one else is taking

Here’s a tasty lineup For DFS Hockey 4/7/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterMatthews$9,000
CenterE. Staal$3,500
WingC. Garland$5,800
WingK. Kaprizov$6,000
WingGalchenyuk$3,100
DefenseMartinez$5,500
DefenseS. Girard$4,700
GoalieJ. Campbell$8,100
UtilityJ. Eriksson Ek$4,100

Eric Staal – C got the overtime winner in his first game with the Habs. He is a depth piece that they need if they want to make a run in the playoffs this year. He is a veteran even among other long time players. The Staals were born to play hockey.

Kirill Kaprizov – W has a tough matchup against the Avs but he is probably not even thinking about that. He just goes out there and does his job with style. We will offer an alternative for him and the guy we are stacking with him but watch out, he will find a way.

Alex Galchenyuk – W has not had his price catch up to his value yet. He is flourishing on the second line in Toronto and is already making an impact. What everyone thought was a risky move has paid off for Dubas. Galch is an animal and Tavares should see a bump in production because of it.

Alec Martinez – D sits behind Theodore and Pietrangelo when it comes to headlines but is still top pairing. We had him in our lineup two days ago before making the terrible decision of going with someone else. He scored two goals. Egg meet face.

Joel Eriksson Ek – U. We should just rename our lineup to underrated. Ek is having a wonderful year even if it does not reach the ears of the masses. He is back to top line center and is the perfect pairing with Kaprizov.

Alternative Moves…

Mark Stone – W. You actually already have enough cash on hand to upgrade Kaprizov for free. Stone faces a Blues team that is in hard decline. We have sung his praises before and unlike most of the rest of our theme today, Stone gets all the attention and rightly so. Straight baller.

Nick Schmaltz – U. Since we dropped Kaprizov we may as well move Eriksson Ek out as well. Go take Nick Schmaltz for another cheap top line center. He is a good stack with Garland. We are not picking Bunting after his hat trick, but we will be keeping an eye on him. Stay tuned.

It is Wednesday and we can already hear the siren call of the weekend. Come follow us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) and have a great rest of your week. Cheers.
