The New York Islanders vs Washington Capitals will be a big matchup. The Isles can tie the Capitals in the standings for first in the East. The Boston Bruins are fending off the Philadelphia Flyers to keep hold of the last playoff spot in that division. Meanwhile the New York Rangers seem low in the standings but are still winning more than they lose. They will look to chip away at the Pittsburgh Penguins hold on third.

If you have not seen footage of Mat Barzal’s electric performance that included a highlight reel hat trick and a couple of assists to boot then you are missing out. He has been making do without captain Anders Lee on his left wing and the first star of the week will probably hope Lamoriello makes a trade to help him out, but he will be fine either way.
Brad Marchand is still a rat and do not forget it. That said he has actually shown some leadership improvements since getting an A on his chest. He is quick to point out others passes that led to his goals and just looks like he is having more fun out there. He is elite.
Jacob Trouba cannot seem to find points this year. He makes up for that with a ton of shots and blocks and will hopefully raise the floor of your team by quite a bit. He is a grinder and plays over 22 minutes a night. Things will fall into place for him. This whole team is slowly turning things around and will make a late push to try and get into the playoffs.
Igor Shesterkin was quietly out for sometime last month but has come back in and just as quietly put together some very nice performances. His 2.27 GAA and .925 S% are impressive and worth noting. The Penguins are always dangerous but at that price we are hard pressed not to go after this bargain.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- Another cheap grinder defenseman to pair with Trouba
- Another top 5 winger
- A surprise winger that moved to a top line
Here’s an easterly lineup For DFS Hockey 4/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Center | M. Barzal | $6,700
Center | R. Strome | $6,300
Wing | B. Marchand | $7,900
Wing | P. Kane | $8,100 | |
Wing | M. Marchment | $2,500
Defense | J. Trouba | $3,600
Defense | Pelech | $3,300 | |
Goalie | I. Shesterkin | $7,700
Utility | C. Smith | $3,900 |
Ryan Strome is barely under a point per game and no one seems to notice or care. Only Artemi Panarin has more points than him on this team. He has almost exactly as many FPPG as Mat Barzal and is only a second line center. This dude is good.
Patrick Kane – W. Kaner is well over a point per game himself and has not scored in two. That sounds like some juicy value to us. It is just not possible to keep him off the scoresheet long.
Mason Marchment – W has Barkov back as his center. He also just signed a shiny new one year deal. He is in a great place and at a bare minimum cost has all the upside. Easy play.
Adam Pelech – D is our other cheap grinder to put up with Trouba. We went big on forwards today and had to cut corners somewhere. At least he is usually good for some peripherals and is at a steady go to price.
Craig Smith – U. The Bruins have shuffled lines a little bit and put Pastrnak on the second line with David Krejci. That does not hurt his value as much as you might think because of his prominence on the power play but it does add a ton of value to Smith who has moved up to the top line. We are stacking him with Marchand today to round out a great lineup.
It is Taco Tuesday again which means we need to get out of here and go buy some tortillas and cheddar cheese. We hope you get to enjoy some tacos con carne or whatever floats your boat. Come follow us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) if you are so inclined. Adios, amigo.
