Welcome to the start of a new week and possibly a new era. With the Florida Panthers win over the Columbus Blue Jackets and with a Tampa Bay Lightning loss to the Detroit Red Wings, the Panthers have taken over the top spot in the decision. This is a monumental shift and a testament to a Florida group’s depth even after losing Ekblad for the season. We live in crazy times.

The big three are all within a hundred dollars of each other and we just went with the cheapest one. Nathan MacKinnon had a fantastic week and might be on the biggest roll of the three. We had a hundred bucks left over after we finished our ticket so feel free to go with Auston Matthews if your heart desires.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has moved back up on Connor McDavid’s wing so if you do not end up taking him you will have access to some of his points. We have said for a while that McDavid and Drai would be split apart and are glad to be able to grab Nuge again.
Jeff Petry and Shea Weber are a fun stack to put up against the Oilers. Luckily we do not count plus minus as that could go against them but they will be launching rockets all night at whoever is in Edmonton’s net. These guys are scary together.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- A goalie we expect to get shelled but will survive
- A dirt cheap center with surprising wingers
- One of the league’s most notorious players in a second line spot
Here’s a crazy lineup For DFS Hockey 4/5/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Center | N. MacKinnon | $8,900
Center | Kerfoot | $2,900 | |
Wing | M. Marner | $7,900 | |
Wing | R. Nugent-Hopkins | $5,900
Wing | C. Perry | $2,700 | |
Defense | J. Petry | $5,300
Defense | S. Weber | $5,200
Goalie | C. Hellebuyck | $8,400
Utility | J. Spezza | $2,900 |
Alex Kerfoot – C has found a nice little home as the third line center in Toronto. He is a solid player in his own right but his linemates are what made us perk up. He will have Joe Thornton and Jason Spezza on his wings. They are oldies but goodies and the IQ of this line is off the charts. Something fun will happen with them tonight.
Mitch Marner – W did not have the night we were hoping when we picked him last but that is ok. Only an assist is something we do not get to say of many guys. It was a sweet little pass to Matthews and incredibly skilled. Keep rolling him.
Corey Perry – W is a nuisance. He hits more than he does a lot of things but there is a skilled player buried under there somewhere. He manages to bust it out at seemingly random times and we are trying to get a handle on when that is. We like his deployment next to Nick Suzuki. It is a cheap swing but a good one.
Connor Hellebuyck – G is facing the Ottawa Senators who came out huge against the Canadiens and put up six on them. They looked well rested after almost a week off. We will see if they can keep it rolling but they will have to face one of the leagues best. The other thing going for Connor is that Murray might be coming back tonight. Even healthy, Matt Murray has been struggling this year. Take advantage.
Jason Spezza – U. We got to the bottom of the list and we were looking at what we could still afford and figured we may as well stack Spezza with Kerfoot. Spezza has centerman upside and with a couple more minutes on the third and not his usual fourth line we think he will shine.
