NHL DFS Picks For April 4, 2022

Ryan Nugent Hopkins DFS
EDMONTON, AB - APRIL 02: Calgary Flames Defenceman Mark Giordano (5) chases Edmonton Oilers Left Wing Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (93) behind the net in the first period during the Edmonton Oilers game versus the Calgary Flames on APRIL 02, 2021 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB. Our sleeper pick of the day was Joel Eriksson Ek. He was one goal away from a personal best of 20 and he managed to get two. Adam Henrique and the Ducks did not really score on Edmonton but he did manage 6 shots, which should have helped your squad immensely. The freebies may not have hit, but isn’t all the juicy stuff supposed to be hard to get? The St. Louis Blues are up against an AHL goalie in Ivan Prosvetov and while Arizona should never be counted out, this would be a tough upset.

Here’s an arching lineup For DFS Hockey 4/4/22 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterR. O’Reilly$4,500

WingV. Tarasenko$6,400

GoalieV. Husso$8,500

Ville Husso is for sure the number one starter in St. Louis. Jordan Binnington’s last few outings have been abysmal. He let in four goals each and each time it was on fewer shots. They may have to buy him out in the off season. I think we are seeing the workload start to creep on Husso, but he is holding strong with a fantastic team in front of him.

Ryan O’Reilly and all their centers are crazy cheap right now. The trouble with drafting Blues is that the team is very deep, but does not have a ton of superstars. O’Reilly is an amazing two way player, but that does not always translate to fantasy stats. He is producing right now, so get in while the getting is good.

Vladimir Tarasenko is, in fact, a superstar and worth his bigger price. It is still a reasonable cost for a guy just shy of the point per game mark. He is like 98% sure to get you a point and will follow up with a few cherry shots on top.

• Another cheaper goalie playing as bad a team as Arizona
• We are keeping Tarasenko but will be upgrading O’Reilly for another guy on a goal scoring streak

Linus Ullmark and the Bruins are keeping pace with Toronto and Tampa who are both playing each other tonight. If the Bruins win, they are guaranteed to gain some ground. Let’s all hope the other game does not go to OT. We do not need them gaining any more points in the standings than they absolutely have to.

Brayden Point is going to be firing on all cylinders tonight against the Maple Leafs. This is shaping up to be the best regular season game of the year so far. Jack Campbell is a bit of a question mark having just missed a month. He is a great goalie but is he ready for this onslaught? He gave up three to Philly. What does he let in from the Lightning?

Jakob Markstrom may have been pulled in his last game, but if he is in net tonight he is a good choice. If he does get the night off, though, go after some Kings. We have been leaning on Philip Danault a lot lately and for good reason. He is cheap and getting points frequently. He also has not gotten a goal in too long. And just like last time, you could do well with Anze Kopitar, we are just taking the $600 savings and putting that elsewhere.

A lot of the upper tier of defenseman just do not give us the confidence we are hoping for, so we will be taking more expensive wingers today. You also just cannot go wrong with Charlie McAvoy. He is crushing it might in and night out.

Back him up with either Mark Giordano or Noah Hanifin. Giordano is settling in nicely in Toronto and will be called upon to absorb all the shots going Campbells way. We called out Hanifin recently and he went and got a goal and an assist. Thanks, bud!

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Tyler ToffoliMichael Bunting and Alex Iafallo are great supporting cast who offer great value. Even Andrew Mangiapane is worth a swing given all the goals he manages to put up. We don’t know how he does it, but he just makes it happen.

We are going to have a hard time getting through the day until the TBL v TOR game. It is going to be insane. Bide your time, follow on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX), take a deep breath and have a great week. Cheers.
