NHL DFS Picks For April 28, 2021

Auston Matthews
TAMPA, FL - DECEMBER 13: Toronto Maple Leafs center Austin Matthews (34) shoots wide as Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevsky (88) scrambles across the goal in attempt to make a save during the first period of an NHL game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 13, 2018, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. There are a couple big games coming up tonight that ought to be playoff caliber hockey. The Winnipeg Jets square off against the Edmonton Oilers and the Colorado Avalanche face the Vegas Golden Knights. Tune into those as we get down to the wire.

In two divisions there are already three playoff spots guaranteed to teams while in the other two not a single spot has been clinched. Do not worry we do not bother ourselves with the calculus needed to figure out which scenarios would see which teams make it in. We just look for goal scorers.

P.s. There is a major oversight and a missing player that we wanted to play today but does not seem to be in the system. We would like to speak to the DraftKings manager.

Here’s an aggressive lineup For DFS Hockey 4/28/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Matthews$9,200
Center
WingM. Stone$6,700
Wing
Wing
DefenseJ. Chychrun$6,400
Defense
GoalieC. Talbot$8,200
Utility $3,700

Auston Matthews. It is really a coin flip between him and McDavid. Matthews comes out ahead with the larger goal scoring total but either one could easily pop off. McDavid might have the better chance given the goalie matchup but Matthews has stronger wingers. You cannot go wrong either way.

Mark Stone has one very nice thing going for himself tonight. He is up against Devan Dubnyk. The Avalanche picked up the veteran netminder to help with injuries but he sure does let in a lot of goals. The Knights continue on their torrid pace and will likely post some big numbers tonight.

Jakub Chychrun has a similar situation. The Coyotes are playing the Sharks who are putting Josef Korenar in net. We do not know who he is either and his entrance into the league has not had the best numbers. We will be looking into him more as he gets more starts but Chychrun is one of the hottest offensive defensemen in the league right now.

Cam Talbot. The Minnesota Wild are the real deal and Talbot is a big reason why. He is top ten in the league in goalie wins and has done it in fewer games than anyone else near him. What could go wrong with Kirill the Thrill out in front of you making your job easier?

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A new rookie sensation looks for his first goal
  • Another expensive defenseman we have been hyping
  • Cheap stacks to benefit from the top players in the league

Here’s an aggressive lineup For DFS Hockey 4/28/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Matthews$9,200
CenterG. Vilardi$3,200
WingM. Stone$6,700
WingN. Foligno$3,900
WingD. Kahun$2,600
DefenseJ. Chychrun$6,400
DefenseD. Nurse$6,000
GoalieC. Talbot$8,200
UtilityC. Caufield$3,700

Gabe Vilardi – C. Since you are behind the paywall we will let you in on the secret. Quinton Byfield should be making his debut tonight and he is not in the system for some unexplained reason. Vilardi is still having himself a solid season and a nice matchup against the Ducks has us licking our lips.

Nick Foligno – W is getting the nod to saddle up with Auston Matthews. Foligno brings a veteran presence to the lineup and we are really interested to see how compatible they are on the ice. This is a more than reasonable price to pay for this experiment.

Dominik Kahun– W is in a similar boat. He got moved up to the top line in Edmonton and is playing with Connor McDavid. This actually happened last game and he responded with an assist. The Jets are looking a little weak right now and Kahun would love to cement his spot in the top six.

Darnell Nurse – D got us a goal and four shots and we are very grateful for that. We still do not think he is done. He is on a hot streak and we are riding this one until it ends.

Cole Caufield – U. In his first NHL game Caufield got four shots on goal and his price increased quite a bit more than one might expect. That is ok because he is worth taking the swing on. He is a pure goal scorer and his teammates will do whatever they can to make sure he gets his first tuck as soon as possible.
