NHL DFS Picks For April 24, 2021

Auston Matthews
TAMPA, FL - DECEMBER 13: Toronto Maple Leafs center Austin Matthews (34) shoots wide as Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevsky (88) scrambles across the goal in attempt to make a save during the first period of an NHL game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 13, 2018, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. We are not sure what was more embarrassing. The Boston Bruins losing to the Buffalo Sabres or Rasmus Ristolainen scoring an own goal giving the Bruins a chance at a comeback. Patrice Bergeron was a late scratch and the team looked out of sorts. Our backups saved our bacon though and got us some much needed points. The free stuff is usually a good start but we do keep the best back in the secret aisle.  All we will tell you is that our utility guy was Alexis Lafreniere. He scored a goal and an assist for $2,500. You cannot beat that value.

Here’s a cornucopia lineup For DFS Hockey picks 4/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Matthews$9,200
Center
WingB. Tkachuk$7,400
Wing
Wing
DefenseA. Martinez$6,200
Defense
GoalieR. Lehner$8,500
Utility $4,400

Thirty four for #34. Auston Matthews is running away with the Rocket Richard trophy right now. Connor McDavid scores points. Auston Matthews scores goals. He is more than likely still going to hit the 40 mark by seasons end which does not make sense in a 56 game season. You have to play him.

Brady Tkachuk does not come across as a player who only has 30 points in 47 games. When you consider that he has more shots than anyone else in the league including Matthews you know that those numbers are going to rise in the coming years. He is just getting started.

Alec Martinez had seven blocked shots against San Jose recently which is a painful number to type. This guy is a big reason for the Knights success even though his name does not make headlines ever. His shooting percentage is high for a defenseman but you don’t need them to necessarily go in with everything else he brings to the table.

Robin Lehner is next up in the leap frog that is the Golden Knights goalie situation. Fleury got the last win which means it is Lehner’s turn. Just a sneak peek into next week: The Knights play the Avalanche on Wednesday. Get hyped!

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A peripheral madman in our utility position
  • A third pairing D-Man who still plays top power play
  • Someone who may challenge Matthews for the Rocket in a couple years

Here’s a cornucopia lineup For DFS Hockey 4/24/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterMatthews$9,200
CenterP. Dubois$3,900
WingB. Tkachuk$7,400
WingD. Gurianov$4,300
WingP. Stastny$3,600
DefenseA. Martinez$6,200
DefenseN. Dobson$2,500
GoalieR. Lehner$8,500
UtilityE. Lindell$4,400

Pierre-Luc Dubois – C is putting a lot of pieces together right now. He is still a bit of a project given the past couple seasons but he has an incredibly high ceiling. He needs to dial it in if Winnipeg wants to make a deep run and this matchup against Toronto should be out for blood.

Paul Stastny – W. We will get to Gurianov in a second but we wanted to highlight the stack with Dubois here. We are really curious about the veteran impact on Dubois’ progression in this league. He had a weird go of it in Columbus and is starting to pick up a head of steam. Stastny should be able to guide that and we are excited to see what they can do together.

Denis Gurianov – W will be a top line winger within two seasons. There is no way he unseats Pavelski right now but this guy scores goals. He had a really long slump but has been on fire recently along with the rest of the team. If they can carve out a spot in the playoffs it will be with him lighting the lamp.

Noah Dobson – D is on the third pairing while playing five on five but is also on the top power play. He is still young and finding his game but with an epic rematch against the Capitals brewing, we think he will show up in a big way.

Esa Lindell – U gets a great matchup against the Devils and is close to the same tier as Martinez when it comes to sacrificing the body to stop shots from reaching his goalie. Before the season we had him ranked pretty high and while his scoring has not gotten to the heights we were hoping, the talent is still there.
