NHL DFS Picks For April 21, 2022

Nick Suzuki

We’ve got an 11 game slate tonight and lots to choose from. I am seeing a lot of mid-level value as opposed to last night’s more high-priced paired with value guy lineup. Some teams are resting “hurt” players so again check in 30 min before the puck drops as you aren’t going to win that GPP with a player in the dressing room and not on the bench. It is crazy this time of the year.

Here’s a core lineup For DFS Hockey 4/20/22 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterP-L Dubois$5,400
Center
WingC. Giroux$5,200
Wing
Wing
DefenseBrent Burns$6,000
Defense
Goalie
Utility

P.L. Dubois at $5,200 is the kind of mid-level performer that we can sink our teeth into tonight. He’s not a super-star but quietly he rocking almost 11 PTS per night and we can work with that in this slate.

How is Claude Giroux only $5,200. This is my favorite pick of the night. He’s clicking with Huberdeau and Florida has only lost once since their trade with the Flyers to get their captain. The Panthers are seemingly trying to win the President’s Cup and have some serious positive momentum going into the playoffs.

Brent Burns at $6,000 isn’t a bargain but at 11.2 FPTS per game, he gets a little overlooked. Perhaps it is the fact that San Jose just isn’t that great of a team but Burns has elite offensive upside still from the blueline.

• A goalie pick on a bad team that we think is going to get a Win tonight.
• Another player from the age discrimination file that is killing it this year.
• Another player on a crap-tastic team that is trending up big-time despite having nothing to play for other than pride.

Nick Suzuki at $5,400 is playing a truly terrible Flyers team – take it from me – I actually watch the Flyers games and I bet against them as they try to piece together any semblance of a team to finish the season. Suzuki was a high price for Vegas to pay a few years back and he’s really turning into a nice player. At his price and considering the competition, I could see him put up some numbers tonight. If you have more budget look at Tavares or Stamkos look like strong plays too. Perhaps find some budget on D?

Joe Pavelski at $5,300 feels like a bargain tonight. I don’t care that he’s old because he scores all the time. He’s in the point-per-game area and we will take that paired with Claude Giroux above. I am tempted to take another $5,200 player in Jason Robinson who has blossomed nicely. For the same reason that I like Nick Suzuki tonight, I like Cole Caufield at $4,700. He’s been hot the past few weeks after starting the season ice cold. $3,900 Tyler Toffoli could be another lower priced option for you that make allow you to look at the likes of Kirill in Minnesota.

Because of my mid-priced strategy tonight, I was able to take Brent Burns at $6,000 and Kris Letang at $5,900. That’s a lot of proven production on the blueline. Dougie Hamilton calls to me as does a long shot play in Owen Power but that just seemed too out-there for me tonight.

I don’t know what was bothering Carey Price but even at his somewhat expensive “price” of $8,100 – I like the matchup versus Philly. We always try to secure the win in net. Alex Nedeljkovic is playing well but I don’t think they can beat Florida right now. That’s just too much of a long shot for my tastes but I did think about it for a short moment. Everybody loves Vassy but Tampa isn’t playing all that great right this second so I saved the money and tried to go for the easy win.

Good luck tonight friends. Let’s win some money!!!
