We are so happy to not have to do the math on clinching and elimination scenarios. That is some calculus we just do not compute. The only elimination of the day could be the Columbus Blue Jackets who are on life support. Several other teams are struggling to stay afloat and a few are kicking down to keep them out. It’s time to crank it up notch.

Here’s a Lone Star lineup For DFS Hockey 4/16/22 (using DraftKings Values)

The Dallas Stars are right in between elimination and clinching. They are battling hard for the wild card spot right now and their opponent the San Jose Sharks was eliminated earlier this week. Jake Oettinger will be guarding the net and has an outside shot at 30 wins this season. Let’s see if he can pull it off.

How is it that Joe Pavelski is 37 years old and playing a point per game for the first time in his illustrious year? He has some serious staying power. The Stars are probably lucky that the kids can even keep up.

Jason Robertson’s birthday is 10 days apart from Pavelski’s…except 15 years later. What a role model for him to learn from. He has been growing all parts of his game and has become a threat all over the ice. We are surprised he does not have as many of the peripheral stats given how big he is, but those will come in time.

Steven Stamkos is still one of the best in the game. The Lightning are having a little hiccup, but it is nothing they cannot overcome. With leaders like Stamkos and Coach Jon Cooper, you can be sure they know what they need to work on and they will lock it in tonight against Winnipeg.

You can save a little on Stamkos and go for Elias Lindholm who faces an increasingly weaker Coyotes team. He and the Flames should have little trouble this evening and are worth a deep look today. Johnny Gaudreau is definitely not content with only 100 points. He is gunning for the next ten spot. Tyler Toffoli is always a good deep option and today presents an even juicier chance than usual.

John Carlson and the Capitals are nearing the end of their own hiccup. We would hardly fault them all for Toronto going wild and putting up 7 on them. This is a game they know they need to win if only just on principle that they do not deserve to be in the playoffs if they are losing to the Canadiens.

Not to beat the horse too dead, but Rasmus Andersson and Noah Hanifin are wonderful backups or a great stack on their own so you can keep those huge centers we offered up.

The last few cheap options to make sure everything is on the table. Jack Roslovic, a center, is popping off at the moment. Tom Wilson is contributing to the stabilization of Washington while destabilizing other teams with crushing blows. Owen Power is going to get plenty of opportunities to shine in Buffalo and already got himself a point.

That should do it for today. Time to go hiking. We will not be online, but our Twitter (@FantasyDFSXguy will be.  Have yourselves a great weekend. Ciao!
