The Central Division currently has a three way tie for first place. The next three teams all have a legitimate chance at snagging the last playoff spot. What a crazy season. The game of the night might be the Carolina Hurricanes vs the Nashville Predators. After a lackluster start to the season, the Preds have won eight of their last ten and are surging hard. The Hurricanes will have their hands full.

Here’s a wild lineup For DFS Hockey 4/15/21 (using DraftKings Values)

GoalieV. Vanecek$8,500
Utility $4,700

Auston Matthews has just been ruled out and it has messed up our list big time. Alexander Barkov will take his place even with a tough matchup against the Lightning. The Panthers need to prove they are the best team in their state and this one should be entertaining.

Jeff Carter was having a solid season for a 36 year old playing on the second and third line on the wing. He has been traded to a hopeful Pittsburgh team looking to make another run at the cup. Carter will slot in as the second line center which is an upgrade from where he was before. He is ultra competitive and will be trying to make his mark as quickly as possible. McCann and Zucker will do what they need to to feed him a goal tonight.

Calle Jarnkrok can be a shot machine when he gets going. He is pushing almost 20 minutes of time on ice a game right now and is also seeing top power play time. This guy is a sneaky pick who has over a half point per game but none in his last four. He will step up tonight.

Vitek Vanecek is the starter in Washington with Samsonov dealing with some nagging injuries. They have a fantastic matchup against Buffalo, who, to be fair have stepped up their game quite a bit in the past couple weeks. Unfortunately for them Washington is still a juggernaut.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • Beefy defensemen
  • The league’s best power forward
  • A cheap swing on a dude who is settling into new digs

Here’s a wild lineup For DFS Hockey 4/15/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterA. Barkov$7,800
CenterJ. Carter$4,800
WingOvechkin$9,200
WingC. Jarnkrok$3,800
WingN. Gusev$2,500
DefenseC. Murphy$4,900
DefensePesce$3,700
GoalieV. Vanecek$8,500
UtilityT. Wilson$4,700

Alexander Ovechkin – W is replacing Jake Guentzel with the extra money we get from sitting Matthews. We still think Guentzel is a great pickup tonight but the numbers make it hard to work. At the end of the day you want goals and points and Ovi does that for you.

Nikita Gusev – W has had himself quite a week. He and the Devils agreed to mutually terminate his contract and he was picked up for cheap by the Florida Panthers. Coach Q has said that he will immediately slot into a top role and may even see some power play time. This is a low cost swing that is worth striking out on if it does not pan out.

Connor Murphy – D has replaced Jacob Trouba but fits in the same tier easy enough. He is a super physical defenseman and we love the matchup against the Red Wings.

Brett Pesce – D. Like Trouba it is rare that Pesce does not get at least one block a game. Also like Jarnkrok he is a half point per game player in a little lull. This feels like a perfect storm for the Hurricanes defenseman and will be worth following in tonight’s matchup.

Tom Wilson – U lives and breathes beast mode. He is a unique blend of power and skill and is in some ways the league’s premier forward. The Sabres are leaning on Dustin Tokarski who is doing his darndest to keep his team in the game but it might not be enough with a weapon like Wilson bearing down on him.

We hope you are having a great week and that the weekend is shaping up well for you. We would love to have your follow on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Cheers to thirsty Thursday!
