NHL DFS Picks For April 1, 2022

Trevor Zegras Anaheim Ducks
PITTSBURGH, PA - DECEMBER 11: Anaheim Ducks Center Trevor Zegras (46) waits for play to begin during the second period in the NHL game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Anaheim Ducks on December 11, 2021, at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. (Photo by Jeanine Leech/Icon Sportswire)

If there is ever a time for the Anaheim Ducks to stop a terrible losing streak it is tonight. No April Fools here, unless we are the fools tomorrow morning. The Arizona Coyotes lost both Lawson Crouse and Clayton Keller to broken bones this week and the Ducks need to end this 11 game skid. They started off the year so strong and then the wheels fell off. We are going to build you a wonderful foundation of players that you can upgrade where necessary, but still keep some solid value. Happy hunting!

Here’s a quacky lineup For DFS Hockey 4/1/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Trevor Zegras has not attempted “the Michigan” in awhile and we wonder when it will make another appearance. He is an incredibly skilled young man and is top line center while veteran Ryan Getzlaf is sidelined. Paired with our next guy, you have a fantastic stack that will be making highlight reel plays.

Troy Terry has himself a 30 goal season under his belt for the first time and hopefully not the last. To be fair, his shooting percentage is quite high but we worry about that less when the competition is not likely to slow him down.

John Gibson is one of the biggest question marks on the team. He was an elite goalie but is his decline because of personal issues or the lackluster defense in front of him? It was tough to lose Hampus Lindholm at the deadline, but they did get young guy Urho Vaakanainen who could one day fill those shoes.

We are going all the way to the top and taking Andre Vasilevskiy for our goalie over John Gibson. With 34 wins, he is the winningest goalie in the league and is up against the Blackhawks who got shut out but the Florida Panthers yesterday. Vasi is cruising his way to a Vezina award and man, does he deserve it.

Take one or both of these two guys, sit back and enjoy the show. Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson are a formidable duo and Batherson is already back on his horse after a long stint on the injured reserve. This is a big game for the Sens after losing general manager Eugene Melnyk to a long fought battle with an unknown disease. You may as well toss Josh Norris in the mix and take the whole line. Condolences to the Melnyk family in this tough time and to the Senators who are grateful for him keeping the team in the nation’s capital.

We suppose you are looking for some defenders, too, right? Don’t worry we have you covered. Moritz Seider made a great play on the offensive blue line to keep possession and feed Jakub Vrana for one of his two power play assists of the game. Add in a few blocked shots and you have yourself a very well rounded player. As much as we are rooting for the Sens, it is worth noting that Mads Sogaard is making his NHL debut in net and the Red Wings themselves could really use a win. This is going to be a high scoring affair.

Put Nick Leddy in your second spot. Do not ask questions, just reap the rewards. He took over the power play like we said he would and scored a goal for $2,500 of your budget. That is an unbeatable value.

The New York Islanders have a big question tonight. Do they run Semyon Varlamov ragged or do they go for band aid boy Cory Schneider in net? When is the last time Schneider played an NHL game? It does not matter, the New York Rangers are set up for success tonight. Andrew Copp has been a godsend and Frank Vatrano is doing his goal scoring thing. You should even have enough to upgrade someone like Norris to Mika Zibanejad

The world is your oyster, go and take it!
