NHL DFS Picks For April 1, 2021

Nick Suzuki
TORONTO, ON - JANUARY 13: Montreal Canadiens Center Nick Suzuki (14) celebrates his goal with Montreal Canadiens Defenceman Shea Weber (6) and Montreal Canadiens Left Wing Tyler Toffoli (73) during the first period of the NHL regular season game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 13, 2021, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON, Canada. Here at FantasyDFSExperts we have been working hard to innovate ways to keep finding you the best value and are proud to announce that we have finished our brand new FantasyDFSExperts Dart Board. We cannot show it to you of course, otherwise you would gain access to all our deep science. Rest assured, the optimal distance from which to throw our patented McMatthews Darts has been dialed in and we are indiscriminately firing at it like Brady Tkachuk. Version 2.0 will find a way to improve the twine behind it because it turns out those catch pucks and not darts. Subscribe now to help us fund our wall repair!

All jokes aside, there are a ton of options tonight with some great stacks from Carolina, Florida, and New York. Let us all take a moment of silence for the Philadelphia Flyers who had the unfortunate circumstance of losing to the Buffalo Sabres last night. We tried our hardest to boost them and hit big on Provorov and got a decent performance out of Giroux. RIP.

Here’s a foolish lineup For DFS Hockey 4/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Center
CenterV. Trocheck$6,300
Wing
WingSvechnikov$5,400
Wing
Defense
DefenseG. Forsling$3,800
GoalieC. Driedger$8,400
Utility $5,100

Vincent Trochek is back, baby! We have been waiting patiently for him to return from injury and pick up where he left off. We tend to have a policy of not going after guys for at least a game just to make sure and we may have goofed on that. He brought his A game getting an assist and six shots. Welcome back, bud.

Andrei Svechnikov is the best guy to stack with Trochek. He had been doing ok without Vincent but this increases his value by quite a bit. They will look to dial it in as the last third of the season plays out. The kid is a sniper.

Gustav Forsling is taking up Aaron Ekblad’s time with the star defender out for the season. He is already up over twenty minutes which tells us he has been working hard while waiting in the wings and the Panthers coaching staff clearly have a lot of faith in him. He is cheap for top pairing.

Chris Driedger is in an interesting spot. He stood tall while Bobrovsky found his game again and has been a more than serviceable backup. There are questions around his future with the Panthers signing Spencer Knight yesterday but here in the present he is worth owning.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now

  • A Rangers stack facing a happy, but tired Sabres team
  • A dangerous young utility center
  • Access to The Bachelor, Hell’s Kitchen and Survivor DFS content! (Just kidding. We are still all sports, all the time here.)

Here’s a foolish lineup For DFS Hockey 4/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CenterM. Zibanejad$7,900
CenterV. Trocheck$6,300
WingP. Buchnevich$6,100
WingSvechnikov$5,400
WingL. Kunin$2,700
DefenseJ. Trouba$4,300
DefenseG. Forsling$3,800
GoalieC. Driedger$8,400
UtilityN. Suzuki$5,100

Mika Zibanejad – C is the perfect April Fools pick. He could very well fool you or he could put up six points. He has done that twice in his last ten games with a hat trick and three assists in both. The Sabres put everything out there last night to beat the Flyers and are ready to slip back into mediocrity.

Pavel Buchnevich – W is Mika’s right hand man. We should have been highlighting him earlier in the season as he has been exploding on offense. He is sitting just under a point per game and has been a revelation. The image of him pulling the monkey off his back after his first goal still burns bright in our memory.

Luke Kunin – W has certainly fully healed. He has put up at least a point in his last three games since missing a month with injury. He is on the second line on a Nashville team that has quietly roared back into a playoff spot.

Jacob Trouba – D is a bit expensive even having such a high floor but we already talked about how juicy this matchup is. Trouba is a beast.

Nick Suzuki – U. The Canadiens are playing an Ottawa team that has not seen a game in a week. Will that rest help them? Will it hurt them? We will find out tonight but Suzuki has a chance to shine against the Senators fourth string netminder.

Alternative move….

Mat Barzal – C can be put in for Zibanejad and will save you a ton of cash to upgrade Buchnevich to one of the elite wingers that are on the board tonight. It is not enough for Pasta or Ovi but you can still get Kane, Marchand or even Huberdeau.

We may have spent too much time on our April Fools joke and so do not have many alternates for you today, but there is still some wiggle room. Do you prefer more or fewer options? Let us know on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Happy April, you fools!
