Week seven is winding down as tonight the Saints come marching into Seattle to try and take advantage of a Russell Wilson-less Seahawks and steal a win on the road. New Orleans is fresh off a bye week and will be looking to pound the ball with Alvin Kamara into a marshmallow like run defense, Seattle ranks thirtieth in rushing DVOA.

Saints quarterback Jameis Winston has been hot and cold, but he’s coming off a solid performance before their bye week throwing four touchdown passes and 279 yards. The Seahawks have also struggled defending the passing attack too, allowing 292 air yards per game.

Seattle has been without all-pro quarterback Russell Wilson for sometime now with a fractured thumb on his throwing hand, and Geno Smith has not really been able to fill in the role. Even though his stat line was 279 yards and one touchdown, he fumbled on the last drive which gave Pittsburgh the win last week. He has favored DK Metcalf when he does look to throw, who saw seven targets last week.

Seattle will need to lean on the run game tonight, and Alex Collins has put the team on his back. He rushed for 101 yards, averaging five per carry, and a touchdown against a tough matchup. Coach Pete Carrol has spoken very highly of the back since starter Chris Carson suffered a neck injury, Collins should receive the lion share of touches tonight, barring any setbacks from a recent groin injury.

Here’s What You Get If You Sign Up For $99 For Six Months

  • Who we like in the Captain/MVP slot
  • Who to Fade
  • Other studs we like
  • Value to roster at Flex
  • General Strategy
  • All access for all sports for up to six months for $99

Captain/MVP:

Alvin Kamara ($19,200 DK/$16,000 FD) He is the most expensive but is money well spent tonight. Although he hasn’t been living up to expectations this year, Kamara has tremendous upside. He can easily come into Seattle and score three touchdowns tonight, it is just a matter of fitting the other players around him in the flex spots is where we will have some difficulty because of his high price tag at Captain.

Who to Fade:

Geno Smith ($9,400 DK/$14,000 FD) As we mentioned above, Geno is way too unreliable especially at the high quarterback salary in Showdown/Single Game formats. New Orleans will look to put pressure on the veteran back-up to keep him for scoring and forcing turnovers.

Other Studs We Like:

Marquez Calloway ($8,600 DK/$10,500 FD) Exploded two weeks ago with two touchdowns clearly making him New Orleans’ top receiver as of now. If the Saints call  play action tonight, Calloway may be in line to feast again.

Gerald Everett ($4,400 DK/$6,000 FD) With most of the defense looking over at Metcalf  and Tyler LockettEverett should see some open looks. His first game coming off the Covid list he caught two balls for 40 yards.

Value at Flex:

Freddie Swain ($2,000 DK/$6,000 FD) Seattle’s slot receiver may also get open with one on one coverage tonight, his price is enticing and all he would need is a six fantasy point night to make value. Geno Smith will have to throw it tonight and may have to look in Swain’s direction.

Kenny Stills ($1,600 DK/$5,500 FD) Had a season high five targets in week five against Washington, catching two for 17 yards. Nothing spectacular, but at his price it is a decent floor for value.

Adam Trautman ($1,800 DK/$5,500 FD) The Saints had high hopes this year for a breakout season but with the current play calling and downfield chucking of Jameis, the tight end position has become an afterthought. He did catch both of his targets for 47 yards, which may be a sign of more to come tonight. His price is minuscule with little risk so if he repeats the same performance of week five we can be satisfied.

General Strategy:

Tonight has reason to be a slow paced game with an over/under of 41.5 points, mainly because of the inability at quarterback for Seattle. Alvin Kamara is in a great spot, the Saints should be able to sit on a lead and keep the Seahawks offense off the field for most of the game. Using him at Captain/MVP is great, but takes up most of your budget. So using a couple low end players would be ideal to make this lineup work out. Seattle is tough to beat when they are at home, some players will show up tonight on their side to play. Tyler Lockett has been boom or bust again this season, so can we trust him tonight? DK will see a lot of Marshon Lattimore tonight, who has been tough on opposing receivers. But he did see Jaylen Ramsey in week five against the Rams and put up a five catch, 98 yards, and two touchdown stat line.  Since Seattle has QB issues, let’s take DK to be on the safe side. Seattle will be leaning on the run game too, so running backs on their side will be a good choice.
