NFL DFS 50/50’s Main Slate Flex Options for September 19, 2021

Russell Wilson DFS Fantasy Pick
ATLANTA, GA - SEPTEMBER 13: Russell Wilson (3) of the Seattle Seahawks barks out the signals during the NFL Week 1 game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Seattle Seahawks on September 13, 2020 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by David J. Griffin/Icon Sportswire)

With so many games this Sunday with potential shoot-out and high point totals, we will need some cheap players to produce in our Flex in order to play some of the big-name studs. We will also need some other affordable players as our RB2 and WR3, even at Tight End. Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf are a nice stack with a juicy matchup against the Xavier Rhodes-less Indianapolis Colts, but will cost you an arm and a leg. Even if you do not decide on any of the big name QB’s, there is also value at that position too this week.

Here are a couple bargain players to help you build a solid lineup:

Javonte Williams ($4,400 DK/$5,500 FD) Denver’s first-round pick saw some action last week against the Giants, and is expected to have his workload  increased this week against the soft defense of the Jaguars, who allowed over 85 yards on the ground to Houston’s 31 year old Mark Ingram.  Denver’s defense should keep Jacksonville from scoring and allow the rookie to run the ball in the second half.

Rondale Moore ($4,000 DK/$4,900 FD) The rookie from Purdue has already shown some chemistry with Arizona Quarterback Kyler Murray catching four of his passes for 68 yards in his first NFL game. Minnesota is banged up on the defensive side, and Deandre Hopkins will receive most of their attention that can lead to Moore seeing single coverage.

  • Even more value options at minimum salary
  • Quarterbacks at a discount who have a great matchup

Value at Flex:

Bryan Edwards ($3,700 DK/$4,900 FD) Caught four balls for 81 yards against the Ravens on MNF. Derek Carr will have to find other options to throw to besides Darren Waller against Pittsburgh. Edwards has already shown signs of becoming Carr’s man on the sidelines.

Hunter Renfrow ($3,600 DK/$5,000 FD) Is the gadget guy on third down who   Derek Carr likes to throw to. Renfrow caught six passes for 70 yards over the Ravens in week one.

Juwan Johnson ($3,600 DK/$5,100 FD) The Saints Tight End has shown to be a red zone target for Jameis Winston, who threw two of his five touchdown passes to. Johnson is listed as a WR on DraftKings and as a TE on FanDuel.

David Njoku ($3,600 DK/$4,800) Caught three passes for 76 yards last week. . With Odell Beckham Jr. ruled out again with his knee injury from last season, expect Njoku to see a few targets against a soft Texan defense.

Cedrick Wilson ($3,100 DK/$4,900 FD) Picked up right where Michael Gallup left off when he went down with a calf injury against Tampa Bay, where he caught all 3 of his targets for 24 yards. Gallup has been placed on IR this week, which would draw the start for Wilson against the Chargers in another possible shootout between Dak Prescott and Justin Herbert.

James O’Shaughnessy ($2,700 DK/$4,400 FD) saw eight targets and caught six of them for 48 yards. Rookie number one pick Trevor Lawrence may look to lean on the Tight End again in a tough match up against the Broncos.

Quarterback Value Play

Teddy Bridgewater ($5,400 DK/$7,000 FD) picked apart the lowly Giants secondary last week and now gets a softer one in Jacksonville. Teddy threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 19 yards on the ground.

Joe Burrow ($5,800 DK/$7,100 FD) has a matchup with one of the worst secondaries in the league at Chicago. And with Andy Dalton‘s potential for a revenge game narrative, it could lead to a shootout. However I would not go the Dalton route, due to his turnover proneness and possibility of Justin Fields entering the game for goal line situations.
