We have another showdown slate tonight as the Brooklyn Nets host the Milwaukee Bucks for game seven. Whoever comes out of this series will be favorites to win it all, and we expect to see a war for that opportunity. We know that Kyrie Irving remains out for tonight, so we still have some extra opportunity on the Nets. You will notice our picks are similar as they were last slate, as we have the same studs to choose from and the same few value options. We are once again looking at a stars and scrubs style roster here, as you will likely need both superstars on this one.

Here’s a showdown core For DFS Basketball 6/19/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CaptainK. Durant $18,000
Utility
UtilityP. Connaughton $2,000
Utility
UtilityG. Antetokounmpo $12,200
Utility

Kevin Durant is still our favorite option for captain tonight, as we saw him shoot the ball 30 times last game and we expect him to go all out to stay alive tonight. The Nets have less options than the Bucks, which is why we prefer Durant to any of the studs on Milwaukee. Durant showed upside with one of the best DFS games I have ever seen a few slates ago, as we saw him play all 48 minutes. We expect all the stars to see a lot of run tonight, starting with Durant. We want to use one of the superstars for the captain spot here, as the savings we get by going to a cheaper captain do not open that many options.

Pat Connaughton was someone we talked about going into last game, and he was quite disappointing with only 2.5 FPTS in 21.5 minutes. However, with Connaughton’s price dropping to $2,000 and less value available we are even higher on Connaughton for tonight. Connaughton should be in for at least 20 minutes again tonight, so it is quite unlikely that he is this unproductive again. If Connaughton can go for even 15 FPTS, he may be one of the best plays on the slate as he allows us to spend up elsewhere.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Durant are both close to locks for us tonight, as it is likely you will need both guys. There are not a lot of strong plays in the Midrange tonight and the other Bucks studs have been priced up. It does not make a ton of sense to sacrifice Antetokounmpo just so you can play a few of these midrange guys tonight. Antetokounmpo is a strong option for captain, but we prefer Durant as he shoots the ball a lot more and has higher upside.

Khris Middleton – ($10,000 DK) Middleton absolutely exploded last game, as he went for 70 FPTS. We have seen Middleton play huge minutes every game lately and he continues to have great scoring upside. However, he has been priced up significantly to $10,000 for tonight. This is not a good price for his medium production, and we cannot prioritize him over either of our superstars. Regardless, playing Middleton alongside Durant and Antetokounmpo is a solid approach and has been the winning combination a lot this series.

Jrue Holiday – ($9,400 DK) Holiday has also been significantly priced up, which is why we are even higher on Durant and Antetokounmpo for tonight. Regardless, it is likely that one of Holiday or Middleton will be needed, so we want to get to one of them despite the price change. Holiday was solid last time out with 46.5 FPTS, despite another poor shooting night. Holiday is yet to show his upside this series, and he come out of nowhere with a huge game if he shoots well.

Jeff Green – ($5,200 DK) Green has been playing massive run the past few games which we expect to continue tonight. He has played over 35 minutes in each of his last two, and there is no reason to think he will see less run tonight. We do not have a lot of strong options in this price range, as most guys make us pay up a bit more. Green fits very well into our lineups and is a strong play given the role we have seen from him lately.

Landry Shamet – ($2,600 DK) We know Shamet always has a low floor, but we can not look away from this price tag. Shamet has played well over 20 minutes the past few games, and he could crush value here if he gets any three’s to fall. We will need to take some riskier punts to fit three stars tonight, so we are forced to have some interest in guys like Shamet.

General strategy

James Harden appears to be getting into better and better shape here, and there is a lot of upside he can show a ceiling game tonight. Harden is not a guy we would look to at all for cash games, as we are very firm on Durant and Antetokounmpo for Cash. However, Harden can be a nice pivot for tournaments as he should be much lower owned then the other two superstars.
