We have a fantastic seven game slate tonight, as we have some great opportunities to go after. This slate has a ton of great plays at both ends of the slate and we are able to get a ton of upside in our lineup. We have a ton of value from the Detroit Pistons tonight, who only have nine healthy players as of now. On the other hand, we have some fantastic stars to go after tonight, so we will be going with an aggressive stars and scrubs style lineup. Between injuries, misprices, and perfect matchups, we have a ton of value to play around with here. The challenge with a slate like this is choosing between multiple elite plays, as we are never able to fit all the enticing options into one lineup. Regardless, our core lineup is full of some of our chalkier plays, as well as some guys who have the upside we need for tournaments.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 5/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point Guard
Shooting GuardF. VanVleet $8,000
Small ForwardL. Doncic $10,900
Power ForwardS. Doumbouya $3,500
CenterG. Bitadze $3,300
Guard
Forward $6.300
Utility

The Toronto Raptors look great tonight as they have an ideal matchup against the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are the fastest paced team in the league, and we often like to get to studs going up against them. The Toronto big three all look good here, but our favorite option is Fred VanVleetVanVleet is $8,000 for tonight, which is cheap given his matchup and recent production. VanVleet has been playing massive minutes lately and is back to the high usage we saw from him for most of the season. He has scored well over 50 FPTS in both of his last two games, taking massive usage in each of those outings. Toronto has had some tougher matchups lately; we could see a nice feast in this one against Washington. VanVleet is the only Raptor we squeezed in, and we hope he continues to emerge as first option for Toronto.

Another team we really like for tonight is the Dallas Mavericks who are missing Kristaps Porzingisand Maxi KleberThere is a significant amount of extra usage to go around with Porzingis off the floor, and the Mavericks have a great matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. Luka Doncic is a priority for us tonight, as he should have to do even more then usual for Dallas. Doncic has massive upside, as we saw him go for 80 FPTS just a few games ago. The Nets are terrible defensively and really struggle with rebounding; we could see a huge game from Doncic here. With all the value on this slate, we can play Doncic among other superstars, which makes him a priority for us.

The Detroit Pistons are resting even more guys than usual tonight, and we are all over the rotation guys left healthy. Sekou Doumbouya is one of our favorite targets from Detroit here, as he gives us some huge floor time at only $3,500. We are looking for a few players under $4,000 tonight, as that is needed to play our three-star targets. However, Doumbouya has a ton of upside of his own, as we expect him to play a crazy minute’s load for this one. Doumbouya played 34 minutes last game, scoring 35.5 FPTS. We expect Doumbouya to play as many if not even more minutes tonight, as the Pistons have more injuries. Doumbouya has potential for another massive game given the price we are paying for him.

Goga Bitadze just came back from injury, and we can roster him for too cheap in this spot. Bitadze is only $3,300 here, despite scoring at least 20 FPTS in his last three games. Bitadze played 21 minutes last game and we must expect him to play at least that many minutes tonight, as he remains the only center for the Pacers. We are looking for around 20 FPTS from Bitadze here, which should be easy for him with a good matchup against the Hawks. At his price, he allows us to fit in a ton of upside elsewhere, while still providing decent value himself.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?

Russell Westbrook – PG ($11,000 DK) Westbrook has been a core play every time he has played for almost two months now. Westbrook is coming off two games over 81 FPTS, which is not too far off the course with how he has performed since March. Westbrook is averaging over 70 FPTS across the past ten days, which is way higher than anyone else in the league. Westbrook is the most underpriced player on tonight’s slate, as he should be at least $1,000 more expensive than anyone else. Westbrook is scoring well over 60 FPTS frequently, and his bad games are still good games by anyone else’s standards. Westbrook is always highly owned, but regardless he is a play you are considering for every lineup.

Saben Lee – G ($3,400 DK) Lee has not been great lately for the Pistons, but we are interested in him given all the injuries tonight. Lee is one of the only six or seven healthy Pistons who typically sees the floor, so we expect he has to play some nice minutes for this one. At this price, we do not need much from Lee, and he can smash value without getting too many minutes. However, there is some nice upside that Lee plays huge minutes and puts a big game together.

Saddiq Bey – F ($6,300 DK) Bey is one of our favorite Pistons to get to, even as his price has increased. Bey has played solid minutes consistently all season for Detroit, and we expect him to see ridiculous floor time tonight. The Pistons barely have enough players to be allowed to even play tonight, and most of the big minute’s guys are not available. Bey has been playing massive run lately, and he has been the first option for Detroit. Bey has had few huge games in the last week, and we expect him to see one of his biggest opportunities tonight. Bey could is still too cheap for the role he is playing, and is a priority for us.

Dwight Powell – Util ($3,500 DK) The Mavericks are missing a few frontcourt guys tonight in Porzingis and Kleber. Powell has been great lately, scoring over 30 FPTS in each of his last two games. Powell is a decent per minute producer, and we expect him to hit value at this price if the minutes are there. Powell should be in for a solid boost without Porzingis, and we are betting on his hot streak continuing tonight.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 5/6/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Point GuardR. Westbrook $11,600
Point GuardS. Lee $3,700
Shooting GuardF. VanVleet $8,000
Shooting GuardB. Beal $8,900
Small ForwardS. Bey $6,400
Small ForwardK. Anderson $6,200
Power ForwardS. Doumbouya $4,700
Power ForwardI. Stewart $5,800
CenterG. Bitadze $4,400

Bradley Beal – SG (8,900 FD) We are getting Beal at a great price on FanDuel, and he has a good matchup against Toronto. This projects to be a high scoring affair, and we are happy getting a few pieces of it. Beal is the NBA’s leading scorer, and he has upside for some gigantic games. Beal is not a lock, but for tournaments we like getting a lot of exposure to him at this price point.

Kyle Anderson – SF (6,200 FD) Anderson was the last guy in for us, and he is a good one to swap out if more enticing options open. However, Anderson fits a tough small forward spot, and he has been good lately. Anderson has scored over 30 FPTS four games in a row and has been solid all season.

Isaiah Stewart – PF (5,800 FD) Stewart is significantly easier to roster on FanDuel then on DraftKings. He is a lot cheap over on FD, and he fits at the power forward spot as opposed to center. Stewart has great upside, and his defensive stats give him a higher ceiling on FD. Stewart should be in for a huge opportunity for Detroit tonight, he is an absolute priority at this price.

Have fun with this one, a lot of great plays to choose between. Make sure to keep an eye on the news, we have been having a lot of stuff break right before lock.
