We are on a streak of ridiculous NBA DFS slates, and it is not going to end today with some of the crazy situations present. The first thing we must mention today is the Sacramento Kings, as they are sitting even more guys tonight then they have been the last few slates. Beyond the Kings, we have a few great pace up spots here and a huge part of our strategy is drafting players who have desirable matchups. As has been the case recently, we have a ton of strong value plays and a lot of flexibility with our lineup. We are once again playing a stars and scrubs style slate, as we want to squeeze in value from the top and bottom of the slate.
Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 5/4/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | $5,100 | ||
Shooting Guard | L. Dort | $6,100
Small Forward | B. Hield | $5,900
Power Forward | K. Durant | $9,300
Center | D. Jordan | $3,900

We are all over the matchup between Sacramento and Oklahoma City tonight. We have a ton of interest on both sides of the game, mostly in Kings guys, but the Thunder look great as well. Lu Dort has been playing a massive role lately for the Thunder, and we like getting to him in this matchup against the fast-paced Kings. Dort has been playing over 30 minutes for seven straight games and has emerged as the first option for the gutted Thunder squad. Dort was not great his last two games, but he saw massive usage. For example, Dort only scored 17.25 FPTS last game, but he shot the ball 19 times in 35 minutes. If he is to get this kind of opportunity against the Kings, he is a great plat at only $6,100.
We have been talking about the Kings a lot with the extended absence of De’Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes. Today, Tyrese Haliburton will be joining the sidelines. Haliburton has been taking a lot of the offensive responsibilities with Fox out, and the opportunity without him is massive. The Kings do not have a lot of offense here and we are all over any Kings guy who can create shots for themselves and other. One guy we expect to shoot a ridiculous amount tonight is Buddy Hield. Hield has seen huge usage since Fox got hurt, shooting the ball 19 times last game. Hield has scored over 40 FPTS in three of the past five games, with nice opportunities every game. Haliburton has been really running the offense, an we expect Hield’s scoring to be relied on drastically with Haliburton out. The Thunder are a fantastic matchup and they have been giving up a ton of points lately. We like both sides of this game, as it promises to be an absolute shootout.
The second matchup we are looking to target for tonight is the game between the Bucks and the Nets. We saw these teams play on the weekend and It was a huge showdown between the top studs. We can roster Kevin Durant at a great price here of $9,300. Durant is one of top producers in the league, and he is back to playing full minutes since his injury. However, his price is clearly still held back from his injury trouble. This is uncalled for as Durant has scored over 60 FPTS in both of his past two games. The Nets do not have a lot of options for offence here and we expect Durant continues to see some massive usage. He shot the ball 33 times in regulation last game, and we expect him to bring it for another matchup against the Bucks.
DeAndre Jordan has been showing some nice games lately and he is not at all priced for his good production. Jordan has scored 26, 32.25, 24, 17.5 and 28.75 FPTS in his last five games. It is crazy that he is only $3,900 tonight, as he is only priced for the 17.5 FPT performance. We have seen big men typically play solid minutes against the Bucks to try and help contain the Freak. This was the case last game as Jordan scored 28.75 FPTs in 24 minutes. Jordan should be in for similar run today and is about $700 to cheap.

Delon Wright – PG ($5,100 DK) There is a big margin between Wright and our second favorite play on the slate in this spot. The Kings are missing both there go to point guards in Fox and Haliburton, and this is such a good opportunity for Wright. Wright was already beginning to shine in the absence of Fox, playing north of 25 minutes in the last few games. Haliburton has been the starting and primary point guard recently. We expect that role to go to Wright tonight, and he has so much upside. We saw Wright priced around $7,000 when he was starting point guard for Detroit, and he should be even more expensive with all these injuries for the Kings. Wright has some crazy upside here as there is no real ceiling for what his role in the offense will be. The floor is also fantastic as it is hard to imagine how he is not used a ton at point guard.
Terence Davis – G ($4,000 DK) Davis has showed some nice upside on the Kings, but it is hard for hm to consistently see significant minutes with all the guards ahead of him in the rotation. Davis has seen a boost without Fox, playing 20 or more minutes the last few games. Tonight, we expect the Kings to have to play Davis quite a bit and he is a priority at this price. Like Wright, Davis has some phenomenal upside as he could easily see 30 minutes here. It is hard to get away from any of the Kings guards tonight, as they should all be in for a massive boost.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – F ($10,700 DK) It makes a ton of sense to plug in Antetokounmpo as our most expensive play here. He is the top DFS producer we have on the slate, averaging 56.3 FPTS per game on the season. Furthermore, Antetokounmpo has a fantastic matchup against the Nets tonight. We often mention the inadequacy of the Brooklyn frontcourt, as they are running one of the worst built teams to stop big men that has ever been put together. Antetokounmpo dropped a ghastly 74.5 FPTS on Sunday against the Nets, and we are happy betting on another good game here.
Rajon Rondo – Util ($3,600 DK) Rondo was the last man in for us and this is a play we might replace if more value opens elsewhere. With that said, Rondo is a great tournament play tonight and a guy we want to talk about. Rondo is certainly too cheap tonight, given how goo he has been the last two games. Rondo scored 28 and 37,75 in his last two, which makes tonight’s price tag somewhat odd. Rondo played 30 minutes last game. We expect him to play less today but he should be a fantastic value if he plays anywhere close to that.
Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 5/3/21 (using FanDuel Values)
Point Guard | D. Wright | $5,200
Point Guard | R. Rondo | $3,800
Shooting Guard | T. Davis | $3,800
Shooting Guard | H. Diallo | $4,000
Small Forward | B. Hield | $7,000
Small Forward | K. Durant | $10,300
Power Forward | G. Antetokounmpo | $11,400
Power Forward | Z. Williamson | $9,600
Center | D. Jordan | $4,800 |
Hamidou Diallo – SG (4,000 FD) As of now we do not know if the Detroit guys will be playing tonight or not. If they end up resting Jerami Grant and the other veterans again tonight, Diallo is a priority at this price. Some of the Pistons have been priced up quite a bit, but Diallo remains cheap here. If everyone on Detroit is healthy however, we are probably looking elsewhere for value.
Zion Williamson – PF (9,600 FD) Williamson is always a play worth considering, as he has massive raw FPTS upside. Williamson has emerged as one of the leagues top studs this season. We had quite a bit of extra salary here, so decided to squeeze him in. Williamson has a great matchup against the Warriors here, and we could see him have a big game against there centers.
