There are nine games on tonight’s NBA slate, and we have a lot of value to go over. For tonight’s slate we are going right back to the Toronto Raptors, as they are our main source of value as of now. Chris Boucher is going to be joining Kyle Lowry, Pascal SiakamOG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet on the sideline. The Raptors will only have eight healthy guys here, and most of them are fantastic value. We have some great opportunities on other teams as well tonight, but most of them are drowned out by the Raptors. We are going for an aggressive stars and scrubs lineup here, as we are left with a lot of extra salary after inserting a few Toronto guys. The challenge on this slate is going to be finding studs that look as good as our value plays, and we are highlighting some superstars who have a ton of upside tonight.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 5/13/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardM. Flynn $5,700
Shooting GuardJ. Harris $3,800
Small ForwardA. Gordon $5,100
Power ForwardD. Sabonis $10,700
Center
Guard
Forward $4,100
Utility

We mentioned that we are all over the Toronto Raptors tonight, as they are literally resting there entire starting five. All the guys who are typically bench pieces will be playing massive run tonight and have ridiculous ceilings in this spot. Malachi Flynn could be in for a huge night here, as he will start at point guard and should be a top usage guy for the Raptors. Flynn has been priced up to $5,700, which is still way too cheap for the role he will play with all these guys out. Flynn played 29 minutes to score 28.25 FPTS last game, and we expect him to see even more run tonight. The Raptors are seriously lacking on shot creators with Boucher added to the injury report, which makes the potential for guys like Flynn irresistible here.

There are a few Toronto guys who are priorities for us tonight, specifically at the bottom end of the price spectrum. Jalen Harris at only $3,800 allows us to save a ton of salary without sacrificing any upside. Harris has been a beneficiary of all the Toronto injuries the last few games, scoring 32 and 21.75 FPTS in his last two games. With Boucher added to the sideline, there is going to be even more usage going around for the Raptors. Harris shot the ball nine times last game, but we are expecting a bigger opportunity tonight. Harris could be in for a big game here, but he should be able to provide decent value regardless of what happens.

Aaron Gordon has been somewhat disappointing since he joined the Nuggets, which is why he is only $5,100 at this point. However, with a handful of guys out for Denver, Gordon has seen his minutes rise the past few slates. Last time out, we saw Gordon play 29 minutes to score 33.5 FPTS. We expected Gordon would find a significant role with the Nuggets, and this is looking like his chance. Gordon has some great upside, and this is a good chance to draft him before his price rises.

The Indiana Pacers have been dealing with injuries for a little while now, and that is not going to stop tonight. Since his return Domantas Sabonis has been dominant for the Pacers with all the other guys out. Sabonis has been doing everything for Indiana lately, as his assist and usage rates have both been fantastic. With point guard Malcom Brogdon out again, Sabonis has been doing a lot more to run the offense. Sabonis has been showing massive outings lately, and he has some of the best upside on tonight’s slate. Sabonis has scored over 70 FPTS a few times in the past week, which is why we are happy paying $10,700 for him.

Freddie Gillespie – C ($3,600 DK) Gilespie is another Toronto value play who it seems is unlikely to disappoint us tonight. Gillespie played 25 minutes last game to score 27.75 FPTS. We expect Gillespie to benefit greatly from Boucher being out, and he should be in for more run tonight. Gilespie only needs to score around 20 FPTS to give us decent value here, but with all the Raptors out he has upside for so much more. Some Toronto guys will probably end up being fantastic values tonight, and it is a matter of picking the right ones.

Gary Trent Jr – G ($6,000 DK) Trent was disappointing last time out, only scoring 18 FPTS. However, we are still interested looking at the role that Trent played last time around. Trent played 31 minutes and shot a team leading 16 shots. Trent only hit three of them, but we always know he is inconsistent with the shooting. Trent should be in for similar usage tonight, and he could be in for massive production if he can put together a decent shooting night. Trent has a ton of upside here, and he is too cheap for a guy who is the first option on a team.

Chimezie Metu – F ($4,100 DK) The Sacramento Kings have a ton of injuries going into tonight, a lot of Kings guys have been priced up, but we still have some nice value here. Metu has been playing a lot of minutes lately, and we expect the floor time to continue tonight. Metu scored 31.25 and 26.25 FPTS in his last two games, which is good for fantastic value at this price. If Metu can keep up his production, he will be one of the better value options on the slate.

Nikola Jokic – Util ($11,000 DK) With all the value we have had recently we are often looking to Jokic for the raw FPTS. Jokic is the league leader in FPTS per game, and we know his upside is some of the best in the NBA. We do not have too many of our favorite superstars to choose from today, but we do have a lot of cheap value. Making the Joker a perfect fit for our lineup.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 5/13/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Point GuardM. Flynn $5,500
Point GuardJ. Harris $4,000
Shooting GuardG. Trent $4,900
Shooting GuardT. Davis $6,300
Small ForwardK. Leonard $8,200
Small ForwardK. Anderson $5,900
Power ForwardD. Sabonis $10,500
Power ForwardA. Gordon $3,900
CenterN. Jokic $10,800

Terence Davis – SG (6,300 FD) Davis is a strong play on both sites tonight, as he has been great lately for the Kings. Davis has been priced up significantly, but he is still cheap for his recent production. Davis has scored over 35 FPTS in three straight games, showing upside over 40 FPTS in that time. Davis could be in for another huge game here, as he is clearly playing a massive role for this Kings squad.

Kawhi Leonard – SF (8,200 FD) Leonard remains cheap for tonight and he still has a lot of upside. Leonard is still playing decent minutes and he could play more if it stays close. On FanDuel we have a ton of salary, so we can throw Leonard in without sacrificing much. At this price point, we will always have some interest in Leonard.

Kyle Anderson – SF (5,900 FD) Anderson was the last guy in for us tonight, and he is not a guy we feel must be played. With that said, we are happy using him as lineup filler for two reasons. Firstly, he fills a tough position slot, SF has the least value tonight. Secondly, he has a fantastic matchup against the Kings tonight, which can lead to a big game.

Good luck tonight, a lot of value once again. For Toronto guys we suggest playing two or three for tournaments, and as many as you would like for Cash games.
