We have a great slate to talk about tonight, as we have ton of value squeezed into six games. Most of our interest is focused into a few teams tonight, as there are some tremendous opportunities to target. Our two favorite teams to after as of now will be the Houston Rockets and the Washington Wizards, as both of those teams are facing injuries. This is going to be another stars and scrubs slate, as we have a ton of value as well as one superstar who will be a guaranteed lock. This lineup somewhat builds itself, as we have a ton of value on limited teams. Our challenge for tonight is finding some lower owned plays to go after, as we are locked into one play who will be remarkably high owned.

Russell Westbrook tonight is the biggest no brainer we have had all season. Westbrook has been on a ridiculous tear of about two months now, consistently dropping massive games. Westbrook has soared past 80 FPTS in three of the past four outings, which has been no surprise given how good he has been. Westbrook is practically a lock for us on any slate with any matchup, as his floor games have been around 55 FPTS. However, tonight Westbrook has an ideal situation which makes him unavoidable. Bradley Beal is out for tonight which creates a huge opportunity on Washington, and we expect Westbrook to take a lot of the extra usage. Westbrook has always got a bump with Beal off the floor, and a bump to his current production is scary to think about. If Westbrook goes for 90 FPTS tonight, that should be a surprise to absolutely no one. It is crazy Westbrook is only $11,000 here, as that price really makes him a must play on DraftKings.
The Houston Rockets have been the most important team for the past two slates, as they have barely had enough healthy guys to even play. We have had some tremendous value opportunities from Houston, and they are going to remain gutted tonight. We already know that Kevin Porter is among the injured for tonight, so we are inter4etesed in the healthy Houston guards. Khyri Thomas is a priority for us here. Thomas has only been on the Rockets for two games, as he was picked up to fill the void at the guard positions. He scored 52.75 FPTS last game and 30.25 FPTS the game before that. Thomas is still only $5,500 tonight and he obviously upside for some tremendous value. Thomas played 34 minutes last game, and we expect a similar opportunity as Porter remains out.
James Johnson has seen a significant price increase to $4,600, which is well warranted given the current situation for the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans are missing Zion Williamson and are likely to be without Brandon Ingram. Johnson has been the primary beneficiary when the two forwards were out in the past, and he is still cheap the role we expect him to play. Johnson played 31 minutes last game and shot the ball 13 times. He scored 33 FPTS last time around, which is around what we were expecting from him when these guys were out before. If Williamson and Ingram both remain out, we will most likely see Johnson’s price rise even further. The Pelicans are drastically lacking forwards with the two studs out, which results in some massive opportunities for Johnson.
We mentioned that Beal is out for tonight, so we expect a lot of the Washington guys to get a significant bump here. Davis Bertans looks fantastic here as he is only $3,700 and could be in for some massive usage without Beal. Bertans has had some disappointing outings, but he has also showed some fantastic upside for his price point. We expect his minutes to be quite solid with Beal off the floor, and he should be in for a couple extra shots. Bertans allows us to get some great upside, while still finding value to pay up for essential studs like Westbrook.

Dean Wade – C ($3,400 DK)Wade is not a super glamourous DFS play here, but he looks good considering the studs we want to squeeze in, Wade has been getting massive run, playing around 30 minutes every night. Tonight, the Cavaliers have a fantastic matchup against the Pacers, who have been one of the fastest paced teams in the league lately. Wade has showed some decent upside, scoring 25 FPTS a couple times in his last five outings. We do not need much from Wade here, if he could put together around 20 FPTS with this great matchup that is more than enough.
Trae Young – G ($9,300 DK) Young is the other bona fide stud we are going after other then Westbrook. Young brings a lot of variance and he has a somewhat low floor for the price. However, Young is also cheap for his upside, which we are hoping to see in a perfect matchup with the Wizards. Washington are the league leaders in pace and do not have a strong defender on the entire roster. Young always has a big role and he could be in for a huge night with this opportunity.
KJ Martin Jr. – F ($6,200 DK) The Houston rockets have two important questionable tags in Christian Wood and Kelly Olynyk. If one or both remains out tonight against Portland, we are all over Martin once again.. Martin has been phenomenal the past three games, emerging as a top guy for the gutted Houston squad. In his last three Martin has scored 50, 47.25 and 50 FPTS, he has a been playing a massive role for the Rockets playing at least 39 minutes in those outings. Martin has potential for another huge game, which would make him a must have at this price.
Joe Ingles – Util ($6,300 DK) The Jazz are still missing their guards which warrants this price tag for Ingles. Ingles has been putting up decent production for this price, typically scoring around 33 FPTS. However, the Jazz have a fantastic matchup tonight against the Warriors. Ingles always has high upside due to his shooting, which is something we are looking for in tournament lineups.
Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 5/10/21 (using FanDuel Values)
Point Guard | R. Westbrook | $12,400
Point Guard | T. Young | $8,400
Shooting Guard | K. Thomas | $5,500
Shooting Guard | A. Brooks | $4,500
Small Forward | J. Ingles | $6,200
Small Forward | B. Bogdanovic | $6,100
Power Forward | D. Wade | $3,700
Power Forward | K. Martin | $7,100
Center | J. Allen | $6,800 |
Armoni Brooks – SG (4,500 FD) Brooks is a great play on both sites with Porter and all the other Rockets sidelined. He has been playing great minutes lately and has showed tremendous upside. Brooks has played at least 30 minutes in each of his past three games and has showed upside over 40 FPTS. Brooks has to take on a serious role with all the injured Rockets, and he is still really cheap for the opportunities he is getting.
Bojan Bogdanovic – PF (6,100 FD) Bogdanovic is similar to Ingles in that he relies on shooting a lot but has been taking massive usage. Bogdanovic has been playing a much bigger role for the injured Jazz squad playing well over 30 minutes most nights. He has also seen a price bump, but it is nothing for the upside he has been showing. Bogdanovic went for over 60 FPTS a few nights ago, which shows the type of opportunity these guys are seeing on the Jazz.
Jarrett Allen – C (6,800 FD) Allen has been up and down with his production lately, but he does look good for tonight. The Cavaliers are still missing a bunch of frontcourt guys, so we must expect the minutes are solid for Allen. Furthermore, the Pacers a great matchup to target due to there pace of play. Allen has a lot of upside here, and we do not have too much competition at the center position tonight.
Good luck tonight. Keep watching for breaking news, specifically the questionable Houston guys.
