NBA DFS Picks for March 28 2021

Jokic from Denver
LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 10: Los Angeles Clippers Center Montrezl Harrell (5) and Denver Nuggets Forward Nikola Jokic (15) battle for a rebound during a NBA preseason game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on October 10, 2019 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. Only three games on tonight’s NBA slate and this is the smallest slate we have had in a few months. We have a completely different strategy with slates this small, as you are going to be getting chalk ownership on all the standout plays. We have gone with a stars and scrubs lineup today, as there is a lot of value at the top of the slate we wanted to capitalize. However, this slate does not have nearly as many cheap options as we are used to, and we will have to get a bit more creative with our salary. A few teams saw some major changes at the trade deadline, and we are yet to see how the rotations will play out. We have targeted a lineup with great upside tonight, as well as players we feel should be in for a big role in their new rotations.

Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 3/28/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardD. Schroder $7,100
Shooting GuardD. Bacon $5,300
Small ForwardB. Bogdanovic $4,900
Power Forward  $5,700
Center  $7,600
Guard  $3,900
Forward  $5,000
UtilityN. Jokic $10,400

The Lakers have been without Lebron James and Anthony Davis for a few slates now. Dennis Schroeder has seen a massive boost in usage as well as in his DFS production. Schroeder’s price has rose to $7,100, which would be far too much for him when everyone is healthy. However, Schroeder has showed massive upside lately, scoring over 40 FPTS last game. The Lakers are matched up against a confused Orlando squad that just traded away their starting lineup. Schroeder should be able to get his tonight, as he has taken double digit shot attempts the past seven games.

The Orlando Magic have traded away most of their starting lineup, and three of there highest usage players. Furthermore, Terrence Ross is likely still going to be out for tonight’s slate. The regular rotation guys for Orlando should be in for a huge minute’s night. Dwayne Bacon is priced at $5,300 tonight and should be playing a big role tonight. Bacon played over 34 minutes last game and shot the ball 19 times. He finished with 31.8 FPTS. Bacon should be able to crush value again tonight as we expect he is relied on heavily again tonight. Bacon has massive upside if he gets the same usage he got last game, and he is still too cheap for the current situation.

Bogdan Bogdanovic has been somewhat inconsistent lately, but he has showed the type of upside that could be slate breaking tonight. Bogdanovic has showed upside around 40 FPTS, and he is priced at $4,900. Bogdanovic does have a low floor, however he should be in for solid run tonight. De’Andre Hunter is currently listed as questionable, and Bogdanovic should be in for a huge minute’s night if he is out.

Our favorite spend up option on tonight’s slate is easily Nikola Jokic. The Joker produces at a way higher rate then anyone else on the slate, and he is way too cheap at $10,400. Jokic scored 65 FPTS last game and is averaging 59.8 FPTS per game on the season. The Hawks are a solid matchup and Jokic is way more consistent then any other spend up option. Jokic is somewhat difficult to afford tonight, however he may still be a must if he goes for north of 60 FPTS.

More value plays from the Orlando Magic
• A midrange stud who has been on fire the past few games
• Access to our core FanDuel lineup!

Chuma Okeke – PF (5,700 DK) Like most of the Magic players, this is more expensive than we would usually look to pay for Okeke. However, the Magic have an absolutely confused roster tonight and we expect Okeke finds himself playing huge minutes. Okeke played 37 minutes last game and exploded for 41 FPTS. Someone on the Magic will have a big game tonight, and we have seen that Okeke should have a nice spot in the rotation moving forward.

Pascal Siakam – C ($7,600 DK) This is a great price to be paying for Siakam tonight, as he has scored over 50 FPTS in both of past two games. The raptors have been going smaller lately, which has led to massive minutes at the five for Siakam, as well as a few extra minutes total. Siakam has been rebounding at a great rate lately, in consequence to all the minutes at center. The Raptors have a great matchup with the Blazers tonight, and Siakam could have another huge game with big center minutes in this spot.

Kentavious Caldwell- Pope – G ($3.900 DK) If more news breaks throughout the night, there may be better value options then Caldwell-Pope. However, rostering a player under $4,000 makes a huge difference for the rest of our lineup. Caldwell-Pope allows us to pay up elsewhere and get a ton of upside at our other positions. Furthermore, KCP has shown some big usage games with the injured Lakers and if he is shooting well he may be a must at this price.

Khem Birch – F ($5,000 DK) It is hard to ignore Birch after he dropped a slate breaking 52.3 FPTS last game. Birch played 36.4 minutes and was especially dominant on the boards. The Magic just traded away their center in Nikola Vucevic and there will be a massive rebounding hole for Orlando. Birch should see a lot of minutes at the five again tonight and we expect him to have another big rebounding game. Birch will likely not score 50 FPTS today, but he should be able to give us some solid value at this price.

Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 3/28/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Point GuardD. Lillard $9,100
Point GuardA. Caruso $3,800
Shooting GuardD. Bacon $5,500
Shooting GuardF. VanVleet $7,400
Small ForwardB. Bogdanovic $4,200
Small ForwardK. Caldwell-Pope $4,800
Power ForwardC. Okeke $5,300
Power ForwardP. Siakam $8,500
CenterN. Jokic $11,300

Damian Lillard – PG (9,100 FD) Lillard has seen his production fall slightly since Portland is getting back into a healthy rotation. Lillard is averaging 46.5 FPTS per game, and we know he has some of the best upside in the league, Lillard always has upside to be the best play on the slate, and we are getting him at a nice discount over on FanDuel tonight.

Alex Caruso – PG ($3.800 FD) Caruso is another punt play, but he is cheap tonight on FD. Caruso has had a minute’s boost since the Lakers have been undermanned, and he does have some upside. Caruso has scored over 20 FPTS in two of his past three outings, which is all we need from him at this price.

Fred VanVleet – PG ($7.400 FD) This price is way too cheap for VanVleet, who has been the highest usage player for the Raptors this season. VanVleet looks good whenever he is under $8,000 as he is averaging over 40 FPTS Per game this season. The Raptors have a great matchup with the Trailblazers tonight and VanVleet has upside to absolutely crush this price point.

Have fun tonight, small slates like this can have a ton of opportunity in different contests.
