We are breaking down another two game NBA playoff slate today. As the Atlanta Hawks take on the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Utah Jazz host the L.A. Clippers. Just like the last Philadelphia game, we are eagerly awaiting the news regarding Joel Embiid. It looks like Embiid will likely be good to go tonight, but we will talk about some options to go with either way. We are going with stars and scrubs build again tonight, as most of our favorite plays are studs at the top of the slate. The challenge for tonight is a lack of value plays, so we are forced to go for some riskier punts.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 6/8/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardT. Young $9,200
Shooting GuardD. Mitchell $8,200
Small ForwardD. Hunter $4,100
Power ForwardN. Batum $4,600
Center
Guard
Forward $3,200
Utility

We really like getting to Trae Young tonight as he feels like he is way too cheap for his upside at $9,200. Young was fantastic in game of this series, as he went for 58 FPTS in 39 minutes. Young has been showing a massive role consistently as he is trying to will the Hawks through the playoffs. He is averaging 53.6 FPTS across the past ten days, so he should be closer to $10,00 here. We do not have too many games tonight and Young has upside on par with anyone else available. If he has another big game tonight, we will likely need him at this salary.

Donnovan Mitchell was injured coming into the playoffs, but that did not stop him from having some huge games against the Grizzlies. Mitchell has been able to take on a bigger role as the playoffs progress, but his price remains low. We can roster Mitchell at $8,200 tonight which makes him one of our favorite options to pay up for. Mitchell has massive upside, as we saw him score 57 FPTS last game and 49.5 FPTS in the game before. Mitchell is an absolute lock if Mike Conleyends up out, but he is one of our favorite plays either way.

De’Andre Hunter is a game time decision for tonight, and we really like him for value if he is in. If Hunter is in with no minutes limit, we must assume he will play solid minutes. We do not have a lot of strong value options tonight at all so we really like the $4,100 price tag on Hunter. Hunter played 34 minutes in the last game he played which is what we expect him to play when healthy. If he can play 30 minutes tonight, he will be an important value option for this one.

The Clippers have been going exceedingly small lately, mostly relying on a lineup with four forwards. The result has been a ton of minutes for value plays like Nicolas Batum. Batum played 42 minutes last game and has played well over 30 minutes in each of the past four games. He is giving us a lot of cheap minutes at $4,600 and is one of our favorite value options on the slate. If he continues to play massive minutes in the Clippers small ball lineup, he is a nice value under $5,000.

John Collins – C ($5,600 DK)Collins is easily our favorite play on the slate as of now given the cheap price tag we are seeing tonight. Collins had some poor performances in the series against the Knicks, but we expect him to easily go for north of 30 FPTS on a regular basis. Collins averaged 31.6 FPTS this season, and we expect him to see more minutes tonight. Collins went for 33 FPTS in game one and he should see around 34 minutes again. Collins can easily smash value here and he is priced for a floor performance.

Seth Curry – G ($5,000 DK) Curry has been one of our favorite values in this price range as he is much more aggressive with the ball then other budget plays. Curry has been good lately, scoring 33.5 and 33 FPTS respectively in his last two games. His role has been consistently increasing throughout the playoffs. It appears he is emerging as a top option for the Sixers, as he played a whopping 36 minutes last game. We expect Curry to play solid run tonight and his shooting is relied on heavily. He could easily be a strong value again tonight and he has great upside if his three’s are falling.

Matisse Thybulle – F ($3,200 DK) Thybulle is a risky punt play, but he offers our lineup a ton of upside if he works out. There are no strong plays under $4,000 tonight, so if we see some extra run or a good defensive stats game from Thybulle he could be a huge play. Thybulle scored 17.8 FPTS last game, if he can do the same tonight he will give our lineup a lot of potential because of the stars we can pay up for elsewhere.

Joel Embiid – Util ($10,000 DK) We do not know for sure if Embiid is even able to play tonight, so we left him the utility spot so you can pivot to Kawhi Leonard if need be. However, we do like Embiid a lot of he is in, and the 38 minutes he played last game makes us hopeful. The Sixers are down in the series against the Hawks and need to win tonight. If Embiid can play high 30’s in minutes again, he should be a fantastic option here.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 6/8/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Point GuardT. Young $10,200
Point GuardR. Jackson $4,800
Shooting GuardD. Mitchell $9,000
Shooting GuardS. Curry $5,200
Small ForwardD. Hunter $4,800
Small ForwardM. Thybulle $3,600
Power ForwardJ. Collins $6,500
Power ForwardM. Morris $5,300
CenterJ. Embiid $10,500

Reggie Jackson – PG (4,800 FD) We are getting Jackson at a solid price on FanDuel, and we really like him for value tonight. Jackson was great in the Dallas series as we saw him consistently scoring over 25 FPTS. Jackson showed upside north of 40 FPTS a few games ago. We must see where the minutes go for this series, but Jackson has been the top guard for the Clippers since the playoffs started.

Marcus Morris – PF ($5,300 FD) Morris is a solid value option on both sites tonight, as we know he will be in for a nice opportunity. Morris has benefited from the Clippers small lineup, as he has been playing a lot of minutes at the five. Morris went for well over 30 FPTS in two of his past three games, which would make him a fantastic value in this spot.
