Joel Embiid

We have an early two game slate today, as this promises to be an exciting day of NBA basketball. The Philadelphia 76ers host the Atlanta Hawks for game one, and later we have game seven between the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks. We are still waiting on whether Joel Embiid will be able to play tonight, after a minor meniscus tear two games ago. We will talk about a few priority plays if Embiid is out, as well as some value plays that look good either way. We are going with a balanced lineup here, as we do not have a lot of strong value plays under $4,500. We also really like the studs in the $8,000 to $9,000 range tonight, and our balanced build allows us to get to multiple of those guys.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 6/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardB. Simmons $8,300
Shooting GuardP. George $9,000
Small Forward
Power ForwardM. Morris Sr. $4,900
CenterB. Marjanovic $3,700
Guard
Forward $5,000
Utility

Fortunately for us the Sixers play in the first game today, so we will know before lock if Embiid is playing or not. Ben Simmons is one of our favorite plays to get to if Embiid is out, and he looks solid either way. Simmons has been fantastic since the start of the playoffs, showing much more consistent upside then during the regular season. Simmons was fantastic in the last game without Embiid, as he scored 56.5 FPTS in 39 minutes. Simmons scored north of 50 FPTS three times in the five-game series against Washington, so we like the upside at $8,300 here. We do not have a lot of cheap value plays tonight, so we are looking at studs in the more affordable pay up range.

We have a lot of great stars playing in this Clippers – Mavericks game, however we have to sacrifice a lot to pay up for Luka Doncic and Kawhi Leonard tonight. Both Doncic and Leonard are solid plays, but for our more balanced lineup we are focused on Paul GeorgeWe like rostering George at $9,000 a little bit more then Leonard at $9,900 as the savings are important on this slate. George is a great play for tournaments as he has fantastic upside and could give you a cheap 50 FPTS here.

It is all on the line tonight between the Clippers and Mavericks, so we expect to see the starters play massive minutes on both sides. Marcus Morris is a solid value play here, as he has seen a huge role the past two games. Given our lack of value on the very bottom of the slate, we are looking for more expensive value plays like Morris at $4,900. Morris has played 42 minutes in each of his last two games, and we expect similar run tonight in game seven. Morris showed 37,25 FPT upside two games ago, and he is a great value if he is to continue playing north of 40 minutes.

The only sub $4,000 play we like getting to on this slate is Boban Marjanovic who has some nice upside at his $3,700 price tag. Marjanovic has earned significant minutes for the past three games, playing over 15 minutes in each contest. Marjanovic went for 24.25 FPTS last game, and we know he can be quite productive in limited time on the floor.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Cheap starters who should see a ton of floor time
• More potential priorities from Philadelphia

Tobias Harris – SF ($8,500 DK)Harris is one of our favorite plays on the slate if we get the news that Embiid is out again tonight. Harris is the clear first option when Embiid is off the floor. It was not surprising to see Harris go for a monstrous 57.25 FPTS last time around with no Embiid, and he should see a similar upside if that is the case again tonight. If Embiid does play, Harris is still a solid play here, but much less of a priority.

Seth Curry – G ($5,100 DK) We saw Curry get a big role last game without Embiid, as the Sixers went smaller with Simmons playing the five. Curry went for 33.5 FPTS in 31 minutes last time out as he took a whopping 17 shot attempts. Curry has nice upside if he has a good shooting night, and he is a solid value play for our balanced approach.

Dorian Finney-Smith – F ($5,000 DK) We mentioned that we expect all the starters in this Clippers game against the Mavericks to play huge minutes here. We are getting a lot of the cheaper options for our value plays, including Finney-SmithFinney-Smith has played over 40 minutes in both his past two games, scoring 29 and 29.75 FPTS, respectively.  Finney-Smith has decent upside here and incredibly solid minutes.

Reggie Jackson – Util ($5,400 DK) Over the course of this series Jackson has emerged as the clear top guard option for the Clippers. We saw Jackson play 38 minutes last game and he went off for 43.75 FPTS. We expect to see Jackson play huge minutes again tonight, and as we saw last time around he has fantastic upside. Jackson has been one of the most consistent Clippers this series, as he has scored over 25 FPTS in every game since game one.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 6/6/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Point GuardL. Doncic $11,200
Point GuardR. Jackson $5,400
Shooting GuardP. George $9,400
Shooting GuardS. Curry $4,900
Small ForwardD. Finney-Smith $5,100
Small ForwardD. Green $5,000
Power ForwardT. Harris $8,800
Power ForwardK. Porzingis $6,200
CenterB. Marjanovic $3,900

Luka Doncic – PG (11,200 FD) Doncic is a solid play on both sites as he has way higher upside then anyone else on the slate. Doncic has been fantastic this series, scoring over 64 FPTS in four of his past six games. Doncic has the upside for a performance you will need regardless of price. On FanDuel salary is a lot looser, and Doncic is much more of a priority as we are not sacrificing as much for him.

Danny Green – SF (5,000 FD) Green is another solid value play on both sites, as we know he will play nice minutes as a starter. Green is cheap here and he we saw decent production out of him during the Washington series. Green has decent upside from three’s and defensive stats, and he is the type of value play we must look to throughout the playoffs.

Kristaps Porzingis – PF (6,200 FD) Porzingis has been a lot less productive than one might expect throughout the series. However, he still has the upside to be a decent tournament play at this price. There are a lot of ways that Porzingis could potentially go for a big game here and smash this price tag. The Mavericks need to win tonight, so it would not be surprising to see more minutes then usual out of Porzingis.
