We only have one game to talk about tonight, but it promises to be an exciting one as the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets face off for game one. Although we only have one game tonight, we have four superstars to choose from. We are focused on squeezing in as many superstars as we can here, as the top few guys on this slate are just so much more productive the midrange picks. We are taking a heavy stars and scrubs style approach for this one, as we want to roster three superstars. We are taking some cheap punts today, as we do not need much from anyone outside of our three superstar targets.

Here’s a showdown lineup For DFS Basketball 6/5/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CaptainG. Antetokounmpo $17,700
UtilityL. Shamet $1,800
UtilityB. Lopez $6,400
UtilityK. Durant $11.000
UtilityT. Johnson $1,000
UtilityJ. Harden $12,000

Giannis Antetokounmpo is our favorite captain for tonight for a few reasons. Most importantly, we have three superstars Brookyln, while Antetokounmpo is the clear first option for the Bucks. We are getting to two of the Nets stars here, so captaining Antetokounmpo helps us to balance our exposure. Furthermore, we really like getting to Antetokounmpo for this matchup against Brooklyn. The Nets have the worst defense against big men in the NBA, so we expect to see the Antetokounmpo feast in the paint and on the glass. Antetokounmpo is who you want to captain for Cash games here, and it is a good approach for tournaments as well.

The minimum price in showdown is only $1,000, so we have more opportunity to go for cheap punts just for the salary savings. We mentioned that we want to play three superstars tonight, so we are going to have to look at some cheap plays who do not have too much consistent production. Landry Shamet is a punt we really like going to tonight, as he is giving us a ton of savings with his $1,800 salary. Shamet has been playing ok minutes, as we saw him play 22 minutes last time around. Shamet scored nine FPTS last game, which is not far from what he is averaging on the playoffs. We are hoping that Shamet can hit a couple of his threes here, but we really do not need much at this price. To play the top guys on this slate we must use these cheap plays, and none of them look great.

Brook Lopez was fantastic in the last game against Miami, and we like getting to him again here tonight. Lopez is $6,400 here, and he is our favorite guy we can afford to play next to our three stars. Lopez has some nice upside, and we know he will get solid run as the Bucks starting center. However, the reason we really like going to Lopez is this matchup against the Nets. Throughout the season we saw centers have massive game against Brooklyn, as their center rotation is pretty weak. Lopez can have a big game even if he does not play too many minutes, as Brooklyn has no one to match up with him.

The key to tonight’s slate is going to be deciding which of the studs from Brooklyn to roster. If you are playing multiple lineups tonight you want some exposure to each of the three stars. With that said our favorite Net to get to tonight is Kevin Durant who has been consistent for Brooklyn whenever he has been healthy. Durant was fantastic last series, as we saw him score over 60 FPTS a few times against the Celtics. Durant has always been good in big playoff games, which makes him even more enticing for this series. We have seen some games where one of the two guards took a back seat, but the role is there consistently for Durant.

Tyler Johnson is a risky punt here as he has a very low floor. However, his $1,000 price tag is key for us spending up elsewhere. We really do not need much from Johnson, and he could work here with only six or seven FPTS. He scored eight FPTS last game and averaged 10.3 FPTS on the season. If Johnson gets a little more run then he got last series, he could be a huge play here. Regardless, we need to take some risky punts to get all the studs we want to pay up for.

The third star that we are paying up for tonight is James Harden who has been having some massive games lately. Harden scored 70.75, 63.75 and 75.5 FPTS respectively in his past three games, and we know he has massive upside. If Harden has one of his big games tonight, he will be absolutely needed for winning lineups. Harden is the most expensive player on tonight’s slate at $12,000, however if he shows his upside the salary wont matter.

Here’s a showdown lineup For DFS Basketball 6/5/21 (using DraftKings Values)

MVPG. Antetokounmpo $15,000
StarJ. Harden $15,500
ProK. Durant $14,500
UtilityP. Tucker $7,500
UtilityL. Shamet $7,500

P.J. Tucker is a solid option for value on both sites tonight as he has seen a solid opportunity the past few games. Tucker played 23 and 24 minutes in his past two, scoring 11.1 and 15.1 FPTS, respectively. We do not need much from Tucker at this price here, as he allows us to pay up for all three of our superstars.
