We only have one game to talk about for tonight, as the Mavericks host the Clippers for game six. It is not looking good in the city of Angels these days, as a loss today for the Clippers will have them join the Lakers in elimination from Championship contention. We expect tonight’s game to be a competitive one, as this is the Clippers last chance to keep their playoff run alive. We are going to be using a roster centered around a Luka Doncic captain for tonight, as that is a strong path for tournaments and the only viable strategy for Cash games. We are going to have to stick to two of the three stars on this slate, as we simply do not have salary to get all three and not take DNP’s elsewhere.

Here’s a showdown lineup For DFS Basketball 6/4/21 (using DraftKings Values)

CaptainL. Doncic $14,700
UtilityI. Zubac $12,600
UtilityR. Jackson $1,000
UtilityK. Leonard $9.600
UtilityM. Morris $6,600
UtilityB. Marjanovic $5,400

We mentioned in our introduction that we are using Luka Doncic as our captain for tonight as he is on a tier of his own in terms of production in this series. If we captain Kawhi Leonard over Doncic, we save $400, and if we captain Paul George we save $800. Although $800 in savings is relevant neither of these amounts make up for the massive difference in production between our stars. Doncic has scored over 70 FPTS in three of the five games this series. If he puts out a performance like that, you will need him as your captain to cash in any contest tonight. If you are playing Cash games you have an easy captain decision in Doncic. For bigger tournaments you can obviously play around more with a lower owned captain, but even in those contests Doncic will likely be the captain needed in the optimal lineup.

Given that we only have one game tonight, we do not have a lot of options to look at for value. However, we need to find multiple cheap plays so that we can roster at least two of our star targets for tonight. Ivica Zubac is a solid option here at $4,000 as he has the potential to give us solid production at the low price. If we even had one more team to choose from here, we probably would not be getting to Zubac. However, on a slate with such little value we must take some chances and hope guys play a bit better then usual. Zubac is one of our cheapest plays that is at all viable, which makes him an important play.

Since game one, Reggie Jackson has been fantastic this series. He has scored over 25 FPTS in each of his last four, and we saw him score 29.5 FPTS last game. Jackson is priced at $6,200 which we are happy to pay for, as he is one of the few non-stars on this slate who has consistently produced. Jackson has earned the biggest minutes role of all the Clippers guards, and we expect to see him have another nice opportunity tonight. Outside of the three stars on this slate, it is hard to find any production your happy with, so a guy who has been consistent like Jackson is quite enticing.

Along with Doncic, the natural move on this slate is to take on of Clippers studs between Leonard and George. Leonard is our favorite of the two options, as he has is simply the better producer. Leonard had an off-shooting night last time around, and only finished with 37.75 FPTS. However, he scored 55 FPTS or more in every other game this series. Leonard has been playing a massive role, playing over 40 minutes every game except for the blowout in game four. He has seen the highest usage on the Clippers, and we know he is an efficient producer. It is also worth remembering that everything is on the line tonight for the Clippers, so we should see Leonard play almost the whole game if need be. We really like getting to Doncic and Leonard here, as they will likely both be needed somewhere on your roster.

Marcus Morris saw a lot of run last game, and we expect to see something similar tonight as all the Clippers starter should play big minutes. Morris played over 42 minutes last game, in which he produced 37.3 FPTS. Morris has been playing solid run throughout the series, and he is one of our only consistent options for the Clippers. We expect all the Clippers starters to see a lot of floor time here, as they really cannot rely on their bunch guys.

Boban Marjanovic is one of our favorite plays tonight, as we are relying on the savings from his $2,600 price tag. Marjanovic appears to have earned a spot in the rotation the past two games, as he has played 15 and 20 minutes, respectively. Marjanovic has scored 19 and 17.25 FPTS in the last two games, either of which would be fantastic value at this price tag. There is some risk here that Marjanovic does not see much floor time. However, it is likely he gets similar run to what he got in the win last time around. At this price we do not need much, and anything above 15 FPTS could make Marjanovic a must play.

Here’s a showdown lineup For DFS Basketball 6/4/21 (using DraftKings Values)

MVPL. Doncic $16,000
StarK. Leonard $15,000
ProK. Porzingis $12,500
UtilityB. Marjanovic $7,000
UtilityM. Morris $9,000

Kristaps Porzingis has not been as consistent as you would like to see this series, so we would be weary of rostering him for Cash lineups. However, he is cheap enough at $12,500 to play alongside our other two stars. If Porzingis can have a big game today, he will be important as we can fit him in our lineup and not a third star. Porzingis is kind of in a tier of his own here, as he is not in the tier with our stars, but he is a significantly better producer then anyone else we can choose from.
