NBA DFS Picks For February 8, 2021

DeMar Rozan DFS

This is the most enticing NBA slate we have had in a while. There are nine games today and heaps of value has already opened. The challenge for today will be how to decide between multiple strong plays. It is a good slate to build a stars and scrubs lineup. As there is a lot of value to fit in some of the top plays in NBA DFS. We will be targeting teams who are missing core players as that is always the easiest way to find bonus value.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 2/8/21 (using DraftKings Values)

      PG     R. Neto                                     $3,000 (DK)

      SG      __________                              $9,000 (DK)

      SF     D. DeRozan                              $7,700 (DK)

      PF      __________                               $5,100 (DK)

      C     C. Boucher                                 $5,400 (DK)

      G      __________                                 $10,500 (DK)

      F      __________                                  $6,000 (DK)

      Util   R. Gobert                                   $3,300 (DK)

What makes Raul Neto a core play for tonight is he hardly needs to do anything for us at $3,000. We rarely get the opportunity to draft a minimum priced player who will play significant minutes. Neto is likely going to be the starting point guard for the Wizards tonight and he should get decent playing time. Neto has dominated in games without Russell Westbrook in the past, which will be the case tonight. Neto really is never priced this cheap normally and he is a no brainer for tonight.

DeMar DeRozan has been in a great spot on DraftKings for a few weeks now. His price is still only $7,700, despite scoring 50 and 48 FPTS in his last two games. DeRozan has a great matchup today against the Warriors, who are one of the best targets in the league this year. LaMarcus Aldridge is out again today, which has created massive usage for DeRozan in the past. All the signs are pointing to another huge game for DeRozan.

If you don’t like Rollercoasters, I can’t imagine you are particularly fond of rostering Chris Boucher. Boucher has been completely up and down this season, however his price of $5,400 is too cheap for the upside. Boucher scored 49 FPTS in his last outing and has played big minutes the last two games. If Boucher continues to play north of 20 minutes today, he could be a must have at this price.

Tonight, we want to try and squeeze in as many stars as possible. Rostering Marc Gasol allows us to do that. Gasol should get a nice boost tonight in the absence of Anthony Davis. Gasol played 25 minutes in the last game without Davis, which would be great for this price point. Gasol has a great floor tonight and does not need a huge game because of who he lets us pay up for.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Two stars in dream scenario’s tonight

Midrange plays with crazy opportunities
Different options for different contests

Bradley Beal – SG ($9,000 DK) Beal is another core play coming out of the Washington Backcourt. Beal has one of his lowest price tags in weeks tonight, despite a key opportunity without Russell Westbrook. Beal would be worth playing at over $10,000 in this spot, making him a lock at this tag. Beal has consistently dominated in games without Westbrook and has an easy matchup to chase upside against the Bulls.

Patrick Williams – PF ($5,100 DK) Williams has a great opportunity as the Bulls will be missing a few forwards. Williams has had to play over 30 minutes in the last few game because of the team’s injuries. Williams has a great matchup tonight against the Wizards. We want to get some exposure to the Bulls and Williams allows us to spend up for big plays elsewhere.

LeBron James – G ($10,500 DK) No Anthony Davis makes James an obvious play. James should get a boost in both usage and minutes without Davis. Tonight, James has higher upside then anyone given the situation and there is enough value to pay up for him. James and Beal are our two favorite spend up options for today, given the injuries to their costars.

Kelly Oubre Jr. – F ($6,000 DK) We are still high on Oubre after he scored 60 FPTS two games ago. The warriors are missing multiple frontcourt pieces, and Oubre is the tallest player on the roster as of now. Oubre has played massive minutes and taken a lot of shots in the past two games. Oubre is underpriced for the usage he has been getting.

Alternative Moves…

Al Horford – C ($6,300 DK) Horford is in a dream spot tonight. Both of his backups are injured, which should guarantee solid minutes for Horford. Horford has scored over 30 FPTS in each of his last five games, with two huge performances in that time. Horford is a great play for all formats, but you can feel especially safe with Horford in your Cash games.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – G ($8,000 DK) A lot like Horford, Gilgeous-Alexander looks good enough today to be in the core lineup. Gilgeous-Alexander scored 54.8 FPTS in his last outing and is now averaging over 40 FPTS on the season. The Thunder still have some injuries which should create a bigger role for Gilgeous-Alexander.

You will need to score well into the 300’s to cash today, but we have all the right plays to make that happen.
