The entire sports community is locked in on Super Bowl Sunday, and no one will be paying attention to a small early NBA slate. No one but us that is, there are actually a lot of plays we like on this afternoon five gamer. A few injuries have opened some great opportunities for today, which will be our main priority for lineup building. We went with a stars and scrubs lineup today to capitalize the surprising amount of value today,

Russell Westbrook has remained underpriced since returning from injury a few weeks ago. Westbrook is priced at $8,900 tonight, which is a generous discount given his production. Westbrook is coming off an awkward blowout loss to the Heat, which should drive down his ownership. However, Westbrook has a much better matchup tonight against Charlotte. It is foolish to expect another outlier poor performance, which is the only thing that could stop Westbrook from hitting value at this spot.
This will be Kawhi Leonard’s second straight game as the only star for the Clippers. Leonard scored over 51 FPTS in 37 minutes last game and has a better matchup tonight against the Kings. Leonard is underpriced given the situation at $9,100 and should hit value as long as he plays OK. Leonard should get massive usage against the worst defense in the NBA, which makes him a lock on this slate.
Richaun Holmes has scored 40 FPTS in four of his last seven matches yet is only priced at $5,600. Holmes has huge upside which is hard to turn down on a small slate. Holmes fits into all build types at this price. Averaging over 30 FPTS on the season Holmes is priced for a floor performance today.
I have talked about this a lot recently, but Rudy Gobert does not belong in the $7,300 price range. Gobert has been in blowouts in his last five matches, which has kept his price down. Gobert is averaging over 38 FPTS on the season and should be able to hit value in this spot.

• Different options to tackle big GPP’s
Luke Kennard – SG ($3,800 DK) Kennard should get extended minutes and the start tomorrow. At this price point, Kennard allows you to pay up in other spots and has a nice floor for his role. If Kennard gets hot from deep, he can completely break the slate where he is priced.
Frank Kaminsky – PF ($3,700 DK) Kaminsky should continue to get the start today for the suns. Kaminsky has scored over 20 FPTS in each of the last three games. Kaminsky has seen his minutes rise, playing over 20 minutes in the last game. Kaminsky should be able to crush value if he continues to play big minutes.
Carsen Edwards – G ($3,600 DK) Edwards played 30 minutes last game and should play big minutes again today. Edwards scored over 25 FPTS last game, which would crush value at this price point. Edwards allows you to commit to stars and scrubs and has huge upside. Edwards is a great play for GPP’s if he can get similar run to last game.
Gordon Hayward – F ($8,000 DK) Hayward has a dream matchup against the Wizards today. Hayward scored 49 FPTS in his last game and should get some extra usage tonight. Hayward works well with both star-based and midrange builds tonight at this price point. We want to target someone on this undermanned Charlotte squad and Hayward is our favorite option.
