Tonight, we have nine games and lots of great plays to choose from. There are many more directions to take your roster then last night, where the lineups somewhat built themselves. For todays slate, we are once again targeting players from the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort, who both typically play around 30 minutes. We have built a midrange lineup for tonight, so we can target multiple Thunder players.
Here’s a midrange lineup For DFS Basketball 2/5/21 (using DraftKings Values)
PG R. Westbrook $9,000 (DK)
SG __________ $5,000 (DK)
SF H. Diallo $5,200 (DK)
PF __________ $5,700 (DK)
C N. Vucevic $8,500 (DK)
G __________ $7,900 (DK)
F __________ $3,500 (DK)
Util J. Green $5,200 (DK)
I do not know why DraftKings is so reluctant to price up Russell Westbrook, but his price has dropped since his last match. Westbrook is priced at $9,000 despite scoring 50 and 73.5 FPTS in his last two outings. Westbrook is averaging over 50 FPTS on the season and will be well rested for tonight. Westbrook should be priced around $10,000 and is a lock today with the massive discount.
Hamidou Diallo is the first Oklahoma City player we are targeting for tonight. Diallo is more then a point per minute fantasy producer and should get huge minutes today. Diallo scored 31.75 FPTS last game in 33 minutes. Tonight, the Thunder have a great matchup against Minnesota, who have the worst defense in the NBA. Diallo is underpriced and should crush his $5,200 tag in this spot.
Nikola Vucevic fits perfectly in any lineup tonight, thanks to his eye-raising $8,500 price tag. Vucevic is averaging over 46 FPTS on the season and is coming off a 51 FPT game against Toronto. Vucevic has a much easier matchup tonight against the Bulls, who have terrible defensive big men. Vucevic should be able to crush value tonight and is a lock for us as of now.
Like it or not Jeff Green is the starting center for the Brooklyn Nets. Green has played at least 30 minutes in each of the last two games and has a completely new role. Green should see a boost in his production in the center spot, specifically his rebounding numbers. If Green continues to play over 30 minutes as center, he is underpriced at $5,200.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• More locks from Oklahoma City
• A midrange star with the hottest hand in the NBA
• A budget big man who is the key to tonight’s GPP’s
Theo Maledon – SG ($5,000 DK) I think this is my fifth time talking about Maledon in the last week and a half. He certainly is not who we were expecting for our golden goose but Maledon has hit value on almost every slate recently. Maledon will continue to be the starting point guard tonight, a spot where he played 36 minutes in the last game. If Maledon can get hot tonight he will be a must play, but he should hit value in this spot regardless.
Darius Bazley – PF ($5,700 DK) Bazley is another Thunder player we are all over today. Bazley should be the highest usage player on the team today, which makes him a steal at this price point. Bazley easily passed 40 FPTS last night without even shooting the ball well. Bazley should crush again tonight and is another core play for us.
Fred VanVleet – G ($7,900 DK) VanVleet is coming off a career night where he scored 77.75 FPTS and broke the franchise scoring record for Toronto. VanVleet is following up with a dream matchup against the Nets and has huge upside again today. VanVleet works perfectly with midrange lineups, which is our preferred build for tonight. VanVleet has seen no price jump since his huge game, which makes him hard to turn down.
Kenrich Williams – F ($3,500 DK) If you are playing GPP’s I may keep it to a max of three Thunder players, however I love going with four for cash games. Williams is the best cheap play on the slate and is a must for stars and scrubs builds tonight. Williams scored over 30 FPTS last game and will probably get the start tonight.
Alternative Moves…
Chris Boucher – C ($4,500 DK) Boucher is my favorite GPP target on tonight’s slate. Boucher has seen a loss in minutes recently, however that is largely due to the Raptors matching up with big centers. The Nets play small and Boucher should be allotted much more minutes. We have seen that Boucher has monster upside when he gets the chance and I think that opportunity may come tonight.
Jerami Grant – F ($7,000 DK) Grant remains underpriced today despite scoring 44.5 FPTS in his last outing. Grant is the clear number one option for the Pistons and has shown massive upside. Grant is averaging over 40 FPTS on the season, meaning he can crush value tonight on medium production.
As always good luck everyone and make sure to check the news before lock.
