Tonight’s slate looks great, we have nine game and cheap pricing on a lot of players. It Is one of those slates in which a lot of the midrange stars are deeply underpriced. Our strategy today involves playing a balanced lineup, as we can get some great players under $8,000. Furthermore, there are not many strong punt plays today and a balanced lineup allows us to avoid low floor players. We are targeting players who have good matchups tonight, as well as some guys who are just way too cheap.
Here’s a midrange lineup For DFS Basketball 2/26/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | K. Lowry | $7,000
Shooting Guard | D. Bane | $3,400
Small Forward | J. Grant | $7,300
Power Forward | $6,700 | ||
Center | B. Biyombo | $3,300
Guard | $8,800 | ||
Forward | $7,900 | ||
Utility | $5,600 |
Kyle Lowry is the first of many underpriced midrange targets for us tonight. Lowry at $7,000 is an absolute joke as has been averaging over 44 FPTS across the last ten days and scored over 49 FPTS just last game. Lowry will play solid minutes for the Raptors and we all know he is a good fantasy producer. If you have been playing DFS for a few years you know this a steal for a healthy Kyle Lowry. The raptors have a great matchup against the Rockets tonight, making Lowry a core play for us.
With our balanced lineup tonight, we will not need to play many cheap options. Playing Desmond Bane at $3,400 allows us to focus on our midrange studs elsewhere and he is in a nice spot today. Bane has foregone a lot of his minutes and production to Justise Winslow, however Winslow is out today and Bane should soak up the floor time. We really do not need much from Bane here and he can easily score over 20 FPTS with a little minute’s boost.
Another underpriced stud we are targeting tonight is Jerami Grant. Grant is also way too cheap as he is only $7,300 tonight, despite averaging closer to 40 FPTS a night. The Pistons are suffering a plethora of injuries for this slate and it is fair to expect Grant to take a lion’s share of usage. What makes Grant a core play for us tonight is the matchup against Sacramento, who we try and attack whenever they play. The Kings have the worst defense in the NBA and have rewarded us all season for rostering their opponents.
Along with Desmond Bane, Bismack Biyombo will be the only value play we have to roster tonight. Biyombo is an easy lock tonight as Cody Zeller is doubtful to play. Biyombo is averaging well over 20 FPTS in his starts this season, which is why is such an easy play at $3,300. Biyombo should crush value tonight and has some decent upside if he stays in the game. With a matchup against the Warriors, Biyombo should easily produce what we need from him.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Two midrange studs with superstar upside
• Our favorite GPP play
• Different options for a more top heavy lineup
Gordon Hayward – PF ($6,700 DK) As I mentioned earlier, a huge part of our strategy tonight revolves around drafting underpriced midrange plays. Hayward is a core play for that strategy as this is the lowest price we will ever see on him. Hayward has genuinely great upside if he is shooting well and some of the best floor on the slate because of the price. The Hornets have a great matchup against the Warriors tonight, but we would be happy playing Hayward because of the price point alone.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – G ($8,800 DK) This is not cheap for Gilgeous-Alexander, however we have no problem paying for him because of all the value we have elsewhere. SGA is also far from overpriced tonight, as he has been producing at a rate that is even higher than this price point. SGA has dominated recently with multiple strong games, capping off with over 60 FPTS last game. The Thunder are matchup with the Hawks tonight who have terrible guards defensively. SGA has some huge upside and will be the most expensive player in our balanced build.
Pascal Siakam – F ($7,900 DK) No idea what is happening with the Raptors pricing tonight. I typically refrain from using the F word in my writeups, but if you hop over on Fan duel you will notice the entire Raptors rotation is much more expensive. Siakam is also looking at a dream matchup tonight as the Raptors face the Houston Rockets. The Rockets play small and we expect Siakam to start at center. This should give Siakam a solid boost to his production and makes him a smash play at the price.
Chris Boucher – Util ($5,600 DK) I think Boucher is the most interesting player for NBA DFS right now. That is because some nights he can play twice as many minutes as others depending on the matchup. Boucher should see a nice minute’s game against the tiny Houston Rockets, who should force Aron Baynes off the floor. Boucher has a petit frame and struggles against old fashioned centers, which is not something you are going to find in H-town. Boucher is dynamic in his time on the floor and can break the slate in this type of situation.
Alternative Moves…
De’Aaron Fox – G ($7,700 DK) Fox is another guy who is too cheap. Fox has been dominant this season and has shown huge upside. Fox scored well over 50 FPTS last game and will have that upside tonight against Detroit. Fox is a great play; however, we like a lot of options in that price range.
Good luck tonight, this is a great slate, and I will be playing pretty heavily.
