This one is going to be fun. We have nine games tonight and we are still waiting on a lot of news. However, we have a lot of value to play with already. We have put together a superstar-based lineup today, with all the cheap plays available. Part of our strategy for today involves targeting players who should be missing a few teammates tonight. There are a lot of great picks tonight, we tried to squeeze in everything we can.
Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 2/14/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | M. Morris | $4,200
Shooting Guard | $4,300 | ||
Small Forward | K. Williams | $5,400
Power Forward | $5,900 | ||
Center | N. Jokic | $10,700
Guard | $4,700 | ||
Forward | $10,900 | ||
Utility | A. Simons | $3,800 |
Jamal Murray is currently listed as questionable, however it looks like he will sit tonight. If Murray is out, he will be one of many players sidelined for the Denver Nuggets. Monte Morris should have to play massive minutes tonight and is priced down at $4,200. Morris is a core play if Murray is out but should get solid playing time regardless. Morris has played a big role when Denver was undermanned in the past, which we should see again tonight. Morris works great in our stars and scrubs build, as he has great upside while letting us pay up elsewhere.
Kenrich Williams has been getting ridiculous floor time for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are still deeply undermanned tonight, and Williams should continue to play a big role. Williams scored over 35 FPTS last game in over 35 minutes. We are still happy to pay for him at $5,400 as that price does not account for his role. Williams has played over 30 minutes in each of the last five games and has a solid floor for his price.
If Denver is going to be undermanned tonight, it is hard to get away from Nikola Jokic. Jokic is leading the league in touches and should have to do even more for the Nuggets tonight. Jokic has been the best per game fantasy producer by far this season, averaging 59.3 FPTS a night. For his production, Jokic is underpriced at $10,700. The Nuggets have a tough matchup with the Lakers tonight, but Jokic should have to take on a huge load to keep it close.
Anfernee Simons is a little to cheap tonight at $3,800. Simons is not a crazy high upside play, but he allows us to pay up for that elsewhere. Simons has scored over 20 FPTS in four of his last five contests, with 17 in the outlier. Simons should be able to hit solid value at this tag, and has nice upside coming off a 30-minute game.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Budget options with who should see big floor time.
• Another crème of the crop star for Studs and Duds
• Different options to prepare for news breaking
Grayson Allen – SG ($4,300 DK) Allen has been playing a big role for Memphis lately, and they have even less wings at there disposal tonight. Allen is coming off a nice performance, where he scored 33.8 FPTS in 34.4 minutes. Allen has played at least 30 minutes in both of his last two outings, shooting the ball 13 times a game in that span. Allen should continue to get a lot of floor time tonight, as Memphis is missing a few players.
Michael Porter Jr. – PF ($5,900 DK) Porter is the third and final Nugget player we will be highlighting in the core lineup. Porter has been up and down this season but should be forced to play huge minutes tonight. Porter is one of the only healthy wings for the Nuggets tonight and should get a big role. Porter has shot the ball great this season and we expect him to have more then enough usage tonight.
Michael Carter-Williams – G ($4,700 DK) Carter-Williams will not be as strong a play if all the Orlando guys end up playing tonight. However, we expect Orlando to be missing a few big players again. Carter-Williams will likely be the starting point guard again, which would make him a core play at this price. Carter-Williams will be the dominant ball handler for the Magic if Cole Anthonyremains out. Carter-Williams should take on crazy usage tonight and has monster upside.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – F ($10,900 DK) Antetokounmpo is the second-best fantasy producer this season behind Jokic. Antetokounmpo has seen a nice usage bump in the absence of Jrue Holiday, shooting the ball at least 20 times in each of the last three games. Tonight, Antetokounmpo should have no trouble scoring against the Thunder. Playing Antetokounmpo and Jokic in the same lineup is hard to pull off, but tonight we have the value available to make it happen.
Alternative Moves…
Darius Bazley – PF ($6,100 DK) Bazley has been getting massive usage for the undermanned Thunder squad. Unfortunately, Bazley has not been able to make it happen shooting only 34 percent over the last ten days. However, Bazley is still underpriced for his usage making him a nice target for GPP. If Bazley can put together a mediocre shooting performance, he will be one of the best plays on the slate.
Tyrese Haliburton – G ($6,600 DK) De’Aaron Fox sat out last game and is questionable for tonight. Haliburton is a great play if Fox is out, as he should get a much bigger role. His last game did not stay close with Orlando, but Haliburton has been a great producer recently. Haliburton is averaging over 33 FPTS a game through the last ten days and has been getting increased usage. Haliburton has great upside to target if he is the starter again tonight.
.
Keep an eye on the news tonight, we expect more value to open up closer to lock.
