We are back to the huge slats today, with ten games to choose from. A lot of the league’s top stars will be playing tonight, the key to winning will be finding the value to fit them. My strategy for today involves targeting players who have favorable matchups and good prices. As of now there are not as many injury opportunities as we are used to.

Here’s a star-oriented lineup For DFS Basketball 2/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

      PG     L. Ball                                       $5,500 (DK)

      SG      __________                               $4,300 (DK)

      SF     D. DeRozan                               $7,000 (DK)

      PF      __________                               $7,900 (DK)

      C     N. Jokic                                      $10,900 (DK)

      G      __________                                 $5,200 (DK)

      F      __________                                  $4,800 (DK)

      Util   J. Poeltl                                      $4,400 (DK)

Lonzo Ball remains to be drastically underpriced on DraftKings. Ball is averaging 28.6 FPTS on the season and 31.7 FPTS over the last ten days. Ball has been scoring 30 FPTS on floor games, which would be solid value for this price. Ball has shown massive upside, scoring over 47 FPTS last Friday. Tonight, Ball has a great matchup against Houston and is in position to keep crushing value.

This is going to be the third straight slate that DeMar DeRozan is in the core lineup. At a price of $7,000, DeRozan continues to be an absolute steal given his upside. DeRozan was subpar last contest on the second of a back-to-back, which should lower his ownership for tonight. DeRozan is averaging over 38 FPTS on the season and we know his historic production. Memphis is still an easy matchup and DeRozan is a core play for tonight.

Nikola Jokic dominated the early slate yesterday, scoring 77.5 FPTS. Hardly an outlier as Jokic is averaging 59.9 FPTS on the season, leading the entire NBA. $10,900 may seem like a big tag, but its really a discount given the Joker’s medium production this year. It is hard to turn down Jokic in a matchup against a weak frontcourt, which he will be getting tonight against the Detroit Pistons. Jokic can really show his upside in this matchup which makes him my favorite spend up tonight.

Tonight, there is no lack of star talent, however there is some lack of value. There are not so many cheap options tonight and picking the right punt plays can make the difference. Jakob Poeltl has a great matchup tonight against the Grizzles. Memphis will be playing their back up big men tonight and Poeltl should get some boost in his production. Poeltl is not a glamorous play but the $4,400 tag allows you to play some real heavy hitters.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• The cheap value plays you need to play star’s and scrubs

• Tonight’s core play for winning cash games
• Different players for multiple GPP builds

Theo Maledon– SG ($4,300 DK) Maledon has earned the spot in the starting lineup for the Thunder. He has seen his minutes rise to north of 30 the past two games, averaging around 30 FPTS in that time. Maledon has seen a steady rise in both minutes and usage, which should continue tonight. Maledon has a great matchup tonight against the Rockets and can easily crush value at this tag.

Zion Williamson – PF ($7,900 DK) Williamson continues to be the Cash game core over on DraftKings. Williamson scores 40 FPTS or more almost every game yet is priced under $8,000. The Kings allow more points than any other team in the NBA and have a weak frontcourt. The dream matchup tonight makes Williamson a core play.

Tyrese Haliburton – G ($5,200 DK) This is a great price to pay for Haliburton who is averaging 31.6 FPTS over the last ten days. Haliburton has seen his role increase steadily as he gets more familiar with the league. Haliburton has played over 30 minutes in each of the last four outings with strong production in that time. This is a great time to play Haliburton before his price rises.

Xavier Tillman – F ($4,800 DK) Tillman should continue to start tonight for the Grizzlies. As Memphis plays more games since there break, they will play there starters more minutes. Last game Tillman did not play well and still walked into value at this price. Tillman allows you to fit stars in other positions and does not require your center spot.

Alternative Moves…

Giannis Antetokounmpo – PF ($11,000 DK) Antetokounmpo is one of the most productive players in NBA DFS. Antetokounmpo is averaging over 60 FPTS through the last ten days and scored 72 FPTS last game.

Antetokounmpo is a little too cheap tonight given his medium production and has a good matchup against Portland. Antetokounmpo is another strong spend up option tonight.

John Wall – G ($6,900 DK) Wall is a little unpredictable in terms of minutes. He may play north of 30 minutes in a close game, which would make him a no brainer at tis price. Wall is a great point guard for GPP’s. however, he does have a low floor for Cash games.

Watch the news tonight, stronger value plays may open up throughout the day. Happy Monday folks
