We have an eight gamer to breakdown today, and we have a lot of things that need to be mentioned. For tonight’s slate, we have yet to receive a lot of injury news. However, we are expecting a lot of guys to be ruled out, as many teams are on the second half of back-to-backs. Some teams have been perennially resting studs on back-to-backs, and we even have a big name who was injured in last night’s contest. As a result, we will talk about some potential injury news and the priority plays if certain guys are ruled out. We will look at some of the questionable tags for tonight and talk about priority plays for either outcome. With that said, we also have some plays that we know will be priorities no matter what else opens. We are going stars and scrubs here, as no matter what happens we will have a lot of value.
Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 4/30/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | K. Irving | $7,100
Shooting Guard | J. Holiday | $7,000
Small Forward | A. Johnson | $6,700
Power Forward | |||
Center | |||
Guard | |||
Forward | $7,200 | ||
Utility | T. Davis | $3,700 |
Bear with me for this Brooklyn nets situation. The Nets are on the second half of a back-to-back, and we are confident they will be sitting some guys. Kevin Durant was our lock yesterday, but he likely will not play on the second half of a back-to-back. Kyrie Irving was out last time around, and he is questionable in for today. We have this lineup prepared as if Irving is in, but you need to watch the news here. If Durant is in, and Irving is out he is a lock. If Irving is in and Durant is out he is a lock. If there in, we probably look elsewhere. Lastly, if both Irving and Durant are out, we are looking to stack value from the Brooklyn Nets. There is going to be a ton of extra usage in Brooklyn tonight, and we want to to play whoever is available to take it.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was injured during last nights game, and he is questionable for tonight. With that being said, we feel he will most likely be out here. Jrue Holiday is a completely different beast when Antetokounmpo is out, and we are all over him if that is the case. Holiday capitalized on Antetokounmpo being out for most of last game, scoring 62.5 FPTS. We saw Holiday consistently drop huge games when Antetokounmpo was out earlier in the season. If Antetokounmpo is out, we can look to more Bucks like Bobby Portis and Khris Middleton.
The best play of the slate last night was Alize Johnson who dropped 56,3 FPTS at the minimum price. Johnson is still the minimum price here and he is great play if either Irving or Durant is out. We obviously do not expect to see this upside again from Johnson, but if Durant does not play he should be in for huge minutes. Johnson played 32 minutes last game and that could be even more today with all the injuries. Johnson has showed some interesting upside since he joined the Nets, and we really like him at this price. At only $3,000, Johnson should hit value easily if he gets run. If everyone on Brooklyn is good to go tonight we probably would look elsewhere, but that is quite unlikely.
While we are waiting on news for the Nets and the Bucks, we already have a ton of injuries for the Kings. Both De’Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes are out for tonight, and we have a ton of opportunity on Sacramento. Terrence Davis at $3,700 is a very intriguing value play here, as he has some nice upside with the injuries. Davis played 20 minutes last game, but it was a blowout loss, and we could see him play more in a closer game. Davis has had a few big games since he got to Sacramento, and he should have a nice opportunity here. At this price, Davis opens a lot of opportunity elsewhere, with some upside of his own.

Georges Niang – PF ($3,400 DK) This Jazz-Suns matchup is shaping to be a great game to watch, but a terrible game for DFS. With that said, we do still have a few cheap plays that look good. The Jazz are missing a ton of guards tonight, which has meant a lot of extra minutes for all the forwards. Niang played 26 minutes and scored 31.25 FPTS last night. At this price, Niang has put out nice value in each of his last four games. We expect him to see similar run as he got last game. Which would make him a strong play, even with the tough matchup.
Brook Lopez – C ($4,500 DK) As we mentioned we expect Antetokounmpo to be ruled out for tonight’s contest. If this is the case, then we have some good value here for all the Bucks rotation guys. Lopez is not a lock here as he usually does not get the biggest boost without Antetokounmpo. However, he should still see a boost in rebounding and usage, having much more upside. Lopez could be in for a nice game here, and the Bulls are a great matchup.
Russell Westbrook – G ($11,000 DK) It looks like Westbrook has no intention of slowing down for the rest of the season. Westbrook has been willing the Wizards to that play in game. Which has resulted in his being the top DFS producer over the past few months. Westbrook scored 69.5 FPTS last game, and he has been scoring over 60 FPTS on over half his games for weeks. Westbrook has no equal in ceiling right now, as he is constantly flirting with 70 FPTS. Furthermore, his floor is even more impressive as he has only scored under 55 once in about six weeks. DraftKings does not like to price guys above $11,000, even though this is an absolute steal for Westbrook here.
Buddy Hield – F ($7,200 DK) Hield is our favorite play from the Kings here, as has so much opportunity with Fox and Barnes out. Both were out last game, and we saw Hield score 45 FPTS in only 30 minutes. As there last outing was a huge blowout loss, we expect him to see much more floor time tonight. The Kings have a tough matchup, but that does not counter all the extra usage that should be available here. Also, Hield just dominated in only 30 minutes against the defensive-minded Utah Jazz.
Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 4/30/21 (using FanDuel Values)
Point Guard | R. Westbrook | $11,000
Point Guard | K. Irving | $9,800
Shooting Guard | T. Haliburton | $6,900
Shooting Guard | T. Davis | $3,600
Small Forward | B. Hield | $7,000
Small Forward | K. Middleton | $7,200
Power Forward | A. Johnson | $3,500
Power Forward | G. Niang | $4,000
Center | J. Allen | $6,800 |
Tyrese Haliburton – SG (6,900 FD) Haliburton is a few hundred cheaper then on DraftKings, which is enough to make him a priority for us. Haliburton did not play much in the fourth last game due to the blowout but should be in for more run tonight. Halliburton was fantastic in the other games without Fox, and last game was weird. We are happy getting to Haliburton here as he can easily go for 40 or even 50 FPTS.
Khris Middleton – SF (5,900 FD) If Antetokounmpo ends up out we love getting to Middleton on both sites. Like Holiday, Middleton is getting superstar opportunity when the freak is off the floor. Middleton has some massive upside as he always shoots the ball a lot when Antetokounmpo is out. If Antetokounmpo ends up in, we probably are looking elsewhere here.
Jarrett Allen – C (6,800 FD) Allen is just a strong play here given the price and matchup. Allen went for 43.1 FPTS last game, and he just scored over 56 FPTS against the Wizards last game. Allen has that same matchup against Washington today, and we are all over him at this price.
Keep checking the news as we get closer to lock. We just got the news that Irving is in and Durant is out, which means we want to stick with our Nets in Irving and Johnson.
