NBA DFS Picks for April 29 2021

Nikola Jokic
LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 01: Denver Nuggets Forward Nikola Jokic (15) looks to make a pass over Los Angeles Clippers Center Ivica Zubac (40) during a NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 1, 2021 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. Oh, what a night! This afternoon we have gotten a ton of slate-breaking news for tonight, and the news continues to pour in as we are writing this article. The only way to approach a slate like this is to massively exploit the injury news. We have a ton of fantastic value options available tonight, spread across the whole slate. There are only six games here, but it feels like a lot more with all the priority plays we must choose between. A few teams look great to target, as the Warriors, Pacers, Raptors and Nets are all dealing with major injuries. In fact, apart from Milwaukee, every team on this slate is missing a starter. This sort of slate can be quite tough to crack, as at first glance everyone looks like a good play. We are looking for absolute monster upside, as that is the only way to win big in tournaments tonight.

Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 4/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardK. Lowry $7,100
Shooting GuardA. Wiggins $7,000
Small ForwardK. Bazemore $6,700
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward  $5,300
UtilityN. Jokic $10,900

We just got the news that Fred VanVleet is out tonight for the Raptors. As a result, we are all over Kyle Lowry at $7,100. We do not feel a need to stack Raptors here, as we have huge absences like this on over half the teams on the slate. With that said, Lowry was already cheap, and he is a priority at this price tag. We know that the Raptors are still Lowry’s team, and they are in must win mode if they want to make the playoffs. Lowry is great here; he plays high 30’s in minutes every game and his usage should be fantastic with VanVleet off the floor. He is a dynamic producer and can fill every stat on the stat sheet. We expect Lowry to go for around 40 FPTS or even more tonight. If VanVleet is sidelined for a few games, no doubt we will see a massive price rise on Lowry.

The Warriors are a team we really like here as they have a fantastic matchup with Minnesota and Kelly Oubre Jr. is sidelined. Andrew Wiggins is a fantastic tournament play at $7,000, as we all know how good his upside is. Last time Oubre was out for a while, it led to a massive minut4es and usage boost for the Wiggins. This price is very fair for Wiggins recent production, but as mentioned we expect a boost with Oubre off the floor. Wiggins has never met a shot he does not like, and there is no doubt he will be shooting the air out of the ball against his old squad tonight. If Wiggins has a good shooting game, he could put out a massive performance.

Our favorite play from the Warriors tonight, and one of our favorites on the whole slate is Kent BazemoreBazemore is only $3,900 here and he is already expected in the starting lineup. Last time around, we saw Bazemore explode for a non-sensical 52.25 FPTS. We obviously cannot expect that type of production to be repeated, however we do expect him to crush this price tag. Bazemore played 35 minutes his last game, and we expect a similar opportunity here. We mentioned that the Warriors have a great matchup tonight against Minnesota, which further solidifies Bazemore as a smash value play.

With all the value on tonight’s slate, Nikola Jokic was a no brainer play for us. Jokic just dominates. He is the top DFS producer in the NBA this year, averaging over 58 FPTS per game. Jokic went for 62.8 FPTS last game, which is simply an above-average performance by his standards. Jokic looks better then anyone else on this slate in terms of sheer FPTS. With all the cheap plays we have, we are looking to roster who we think will be the nights top dog. The Nuggets play Toronto tonight, which gives Jokic the opportunity to play around with Toronto’s confused big man rotation. None of the big men on Toronto can Defend the Joker, and he could easily have on of his nights in this spot.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• A vastly underpriced superstar.
• More budget guys who should be in for a massive bump.
•  Get 7-days for free and all-access for all sports for $99 per year after

Kevin Durant – PF ($8,500 DK) Durant is the only player on this stacked slate we would call a lock. The Reason Durant is so cheap here is he is returning from injury. However, Durant scored 53 and 45 FPTS in two games back, and his minutes have been rising. Both James Harden and Kyrie Irving are out for Brooklyn tonight. Durant will be taking massive usage whenever he is on the floor, and we expect him to play mid to high 30’s in minutes here. Frankly, Durant has as good upside as anyone on the slate, given the guys he will be sharing the ball with. With that said, KD is $2000 cheaper then other superstars here, a price we cannot turn down.

Guillermo Hernangomez – C ($4,100 DK) We got the new this afternoon that Steven Adams is out for tonight’s game. As a result, we are looking to Hernangomez as an obvious value play. Adams was out a few nights ago, and we saw Hernangomez amass 33 FPTS in 31 minutes. There are not many center options for New Orleans tonight and we are expecting similar minutes for Hernangomez. He is not priced to be the starting center for this team and is a great value play whenever we can roster him in that situation.

Mike James – G ($3,200 DK) No doubt you are asking yourself, who is Mike
James? Frankly, we do not really know, but what we do know is he should be first in line for point guard minutes here for the Brooklyn Nets. With both Irving and Harden out, the Nets have a serious problem within terms of depth. James played 21 minutes for the Nets last game and we are expecting him to play more minutes without Irving. This play has some risk as we do not know too much about James, however the upside here is great. All the potential is here for that “big game from a nobody” performance.

Oshae Brissett – F ($5,300 DK) Brissett has been surprisingly productive in the absence ofDomantas SabonisBrissett has scored 49 and 51.5 FPTS in two of the four games since Sabonis went down. He has not been under 25 FPTS in that span and he has massive minutes every outing. We must expect Brissett continues to see a massive opportunity, and he has surprisingly not been priced up after his last game. Using the four games of data we have with Sabonis off the floor and Brissett on the squad, Brissett is the best play on the slate at this price. Of course, four games are not long enough to understand a player’s median production, but we have no reason to doubt him here.

Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 4/29/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Point GuardK. Lowry $6,400
Point GuardM. James $4,000
Shooting GuardA. Wiggins $6,700
Shooting GuardJ. Jackson $5,600
Small ForwardK. Durant $9,300
Small ForwardK. Bazemore $5,300
Power ForwardI. Stewart $5,900
Power ForwardB. Griffin $5,800
CenterN. Jokic $10,900

Josh Jackson – SF (5,600 FD) The Pistons are missing a lot of guys tonight. On Another slate, we would be going to three or four Detroit guys on both sites. However, we have so much value today Detroit feels more like one of many great teams to choose from. With that said, we are happy getting some Detroit exposure, and suggest getting some exposure to all the healthy Detroit guys if you are playing MME. Jackson should be a top usage guy from the Pistons and looks great. He has a ton of upside and has been good in games when Detroit was resting guys in the past.

Isaiah Stewart – PF (5,900 FD) FanDuel’s egregious refusal to learn the positions of players in the NBA is working in our favor here. As we can get a pure center in Stewart at the power forward. Stewart is going to start tonight, and he has been great in starts all season. Stewart has left a trail of slate breaking performances in his starting opportunities, and we are all over him when we do not have to use a center spot.

Blake Griffin – PF (5,800 FD) Griffin has found himself starting at center for the confused Nets squad. He has been playing decent minutes and there is some nice opportunity for him. With Irving and Harden out, Griffin should be looking to score a bit more and we really like the upside he has here.

Good luck everyone, this is a great slate for multiple lineups as there are a lot of plays that we would like exposure to.
