We have ten games to talk about on tonight’s NBA DFS slate, so there is going to be a lot of players we want to mention. At first glance, this slate is offering us a lot of studs who are in fantastic positions. We have a few guys who look way too cheap here, so that is who we are mostly targeting for our core plays. Our premium content today goes over a lot more of the players we think have upside to break the slate. One thing that is a huge factor for todays slate is players with questionable tags right now, specifically on the Los Angeles Lakers. Both Anthony Davis and Lebron James are questionable here. If they are both in the Lakers really do not present much value, however if they are both in the Lakers become our number one priority. So, it is going to be key keeping track of the news here. We will talk about some of our favorite options if the Lakers sit and our favorite options if they play.

Here’s a balanced core For DFS Basketball 10/27/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardS. Gilgeous-Alexander $7,100
Shooting GuardJ. Brown $7,800
Small Forward
Power ForwardG. Antetokounmpo $10,800
Center
GuardP. Achiuwa $4,900
Forward
Utility

The price tag that really sticks out on this slate is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at only $7,100. This is way too cheap for SGA, as we know he should be around $8,000 at a minimum. Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 41 FPTS per game on the season last year, and after a few slow games to start off he is showing us how good he is. SGA scored 52 and 40.75 FPTS respectively in his last two games, as he ahs been doing everything for the Thunder offense. He is a fantastic option for Cash games due to his price tag, and we like him for tournaments as he has some fantastic upside

The Boston Celtics have a fantastic matchup tonight against the Washington Wizards, who have been one of our favorite teams to target for a while now. Jaylen Brown is our favorite Celtic to get to here, as he is coming in at a fantastic $7,800 price tag. This is always a cheap price for Brown, and he has had a fantastic start to the season. At 25, Brown has improved every year of his career so far, this year appears to be no different. He is averaging over 47 FTPS on just shy of 29 real life points per game across the first three. Brown has showed some scoring explosions early this year, and an easy matchup with the Wizards is the perfect chance for another one.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the guy in fantasy basketball over the past five years. He stuffs the stat sheet like no other, while providing us with the best floor in the game. Tonight, we are especially interested in Antetokounmpo for a few reasons. Firstly, the Bucks will be playing without Jrue Holiday once again. Milwaukee really lacks offensive creators when Holiday is off the floor, so Antetokounmpo should have to do even more then usual here. The Bucks also have a fantastic matchup tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Wolves defense is about as pitiful as you can get, and we should see another easy feast for the Freak tonight.

The guy we have been able to look to for value consistently this season is Precious Achiuwa, who has taken on a large role this season as starting center for Toronto. Achiuwa has been fantastic in his new role, yet he is still only $4,900 on tonight’s slate. The Raptors have one of the best matchups in the NBA tonight against the Indiana Pacers, so we want to get a guy or two from Toronto in our lineup. Achiuwa is averaging 29.1 FPTS per game this season, and that includes a disappointing first game. we expect Achiuwa continues to start and play close to 30 minutes, and we are going to keep rostering him until he is priced up or his minutes come down.

Here’s a balanced core For DFS Basketball 10/27/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Now what do you get if you sign up now for $99?
• Priorities at every position
• Some general strategy for the night
• A few stars who can go off here
• Our priorities whether or not the Lakers studs play

Point Guard

Fred VanVleet – PG ($7,800 DK) VanVleet is a guy that has been getting a lot of attention from experienced DFS players early in this season. With Kyle Lowry gone to the Miami Heat and Pascal Siakam hurt to star the year, expectations are high on VanVleet. We saw him show his upside for the first time last game, as he scored 50 FPTS on the back of 17 assists. The Raptors offense seriously lacks creators right now, so we expect VanVleet to continue to do a lot. We really like this price point for VanVleet, as he averaged 40 FPTS per game last year in a smaller role. VanVleet should be able to capitalize on this fantastic matchup, and the upside is crazy here.

Shooting Guard

Luguentz Dort – ($4,500 DK) Dort has been quite disappointing to start the season, especially considering we saw him produce at a very high level at the end of last year. Dort is averaging about 5 real points less then last season, which we do not expect to hold from the 22 year old. We are still expecting to see a good season from Dort, so we are interested if he is this cheap. We know Dort has upside for a good scoring game, as he has been shooting the ball quite a bit. He is also fantastic with peripherals, specifically defensive stats. He can go for a giant game tonight, and we are not taking a big risk at this price.

Small Forward

Khris Middleton  (7,800 DK) With Holiday out Middleton is in an amazing spot to take a ton of shots and have a big game. The Timberwolves defense offers a great opportunity for a good shooting night, and this price tag is very enticing. There is a lot to like about Middleton in this spot and we are happy playing him alongside his teammate in Antetokounmpo. Middleton is pure upside, and we want to fit him in as many lineups. One challenge with this slate is there are a lot of guys in this price range, but Middleton is definitely a priority for us in tournaments.

Desmond Bane – (4,800 Dk) Bane has been great to start the season, as the sophomore appears to be taking a big step up this year. Bane has scored 33 or more FPTS every game so far this season, so his floor is looking good for the sub $5,000 price tag. Bane has shot 15 or 16 field goal attempts in each game this season, and he has been scoring at a good rate. Bane is going to be priced up to around $6,000 if his role stays where it is right now, and we are going to keep playing him until something changes.

Power Forward

Xavier Tillman – (3,200 DKTillman did not play for the first few games of the season, but we expect the sophomore to see some floor time every game. Last time out he played 23 minutes and went for 23.25 FPTS. There are a lot of studs on this slate with huge upside who we want to get to, so this price tag opens a lot for us. There are not many plays we like under $4,000 tonight, so if Tillman performs well he could be a guy you really want to have.

Center

Steven Adams – (5,300 DK) Adams has been fantastic in his three games as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. He has been playing massive minutes, averaging well over 30 minutes per game. Adams has scored 33, 39.25, and 42.5 in the first three games, and his price is going to rise significantly if this production keeps up. Adams feels very safe here, so we love getting to him in cash games, but we are happy using him for tournaments as well if we have the salary.

General strategy

As we mentioned in our introduction the biggest thing we need to discuss is the Lakers guys. If both James and Davis are in today we are not looking to the Lakers for much. We are also likely looking at value plays like George Hill at $3,500. While if James is out again, we would prefer going to Malik Monk for value at $3,700. We also definitely want Westbrook again if James sits. If Davis sits, we like center’s Deandre Jordan and Dwight Howard for value. We also don’t mind either James or Westbrook as spend up. If both Davis and James are out, we are locking in Westbrook and we want a few of the Lakers value options. We will have a ton of cheap plays from Los Angeles, and we can focus on an aggressive stars and scrubs build. Good luck tonight, and make sure you’re keeping an eye on the news as it comes out.
