Nikola Jokic
LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 01: Denver Nuggets Forward Nikola Jokic (15) looks to make a pass over Los Angeles Clippers Center Ivica Zubac (40) during a NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 1, 2021 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. We have four NBA games to breakdown for DFS tonight, and this feels like the weirdest slate we have had in a while. It is one of those nights where quite a few of our priorities are guys are guys we have not been getting to in a while. Starting with the Detroit Pistons, who are looking like one of our favorite sources for value tonight. We have been waiting on a huge piece of news in Nikola Jokic who is questionable here. Jokic is the most productive guy on the slate so a ton of what we are interested in hangs on whether he plays. Our core plays here will discuss one priority from the Pistons, as well as one stud we are looking to spend up for. We will also talk about one fade who we have no interest for this slate.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 11/21/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point Guard
Shooting Guard
Small ForwardS. Bey $5,600
Power Forward
CenterN. Jokic $11,400
Guard
Forward
Utility

We wanted to start with Saddiq Bey here, as his is the one price tag that really stands out on this slate. Bey is too cheap here at $5,600, as he is averaging 29.3 FPTS per game, and playing a huge role for the Pistons. Bey consistently plays north of 30 minutes per game and always takes a lot of usage. He has huge upside if he can put together a good shooting night, and at this price a big game could make him a must play.

We are not sure if Nikola Jokic is going to play, but we still needed to include him as a core play. If Jokic plays he stands out above the rest of the stars on this slate, as he is the best producer by far and is too cheap at $11,400. The studs are looking ugly on this slate, as most guys at the top are a little too expensive. Jokic is one of the few options who can easily drop 60 FPTS, so he will be a priority if he plays tonight.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 11/21/21 (using DraftKings Values)

LeBron James came back last game and like clockwork Russell Westbrook put out his least productive performance since before James got hurt. Westbrook did less of everything last time leading to only 27.5 FPTS. He is still expensive here, as he is priced for when James was off the floor. If James plays again tonight, we are not getting to any Westbrook, as it would take a real outlier for him to live up to this price.

Now what do you get if you sign up now for $99?
• One guard who has been on fire from Detroit
• A budget priority who is seeing a ton of floor time
• A stud forward with a dream matchup
• A superstar big man who has colossal upside

Point Guard`

Cory Joseph – PG ($3,200 DK) Joseph has been playing a ton of minutes for the Pistons lately, as we have seen him play 30 minutes two nights in a row. He went for 29.25 and 20.5 FPTS respectively in those two games, which is nice for this price point. If Joseph continues to play 30 minutes, he looks like the best value on this slate right now. Killian Hayes is currently questionable for Detroit, Joseph becomes a lock for us if Hayes sits.

Shooting Guard

Cade Cunningham  ($6,100 DK) Cunningham is the third and final Piston who we really like for the night, as he has been on fire lately. Cunningham went for 51.5, 41, and 46 FPTS across the past three games, as he is starting to produce like the stud he was expected to be. Cunningham has been priced up significantly over the past few slates, but he is still cheap for a guy we know can easily go for 40 to 50 FPTS. There are not too many fantastic options tonight, so if the hot run continues for Cunningham, he will be a must play.

Small Forward

Gary Trent Jr.  ($6,200 DK) Trent has gotten significantly more expensive over the past few slates, so he is not quite as good a value as he was a few weeks ago. However, Trent has been playing between 35-40 minutes per game lately, while consistently taking a ton of shots for the Toronto Raptors. Trent has scored over 30 FPTS in each of the past five games and he has upside to go for big nights. We do not have a lot of strong small forward options, so we are happy getting to a lot of Trent here.

Power Forward

Pascal Siakam – ($8,400 DKSiakam was dealing with injuries coming into the season, but he has been able to take on a full minute’s load for the past four games. Siakam struggled in one of those outings with a tough matchup against the Utah Jazz, but he showed some nice production in the other three. The Raptors have a fantastic matchup against the Warriors tonight, so we are betting on things clicking for Siakam here.

Center

Anthony Davis – ($10,600 DK) Davis is a little bit too expensive here, but with the lack of options on tonight’s slate he is worth mentioning. Davis has some of the best upside on this slate, and he may not have to hit fantastic value to be a winning play. If Jokic plays we are going to him over Davis, but if Jokic sits Davis is one of our favorite stars out of what’s left.

General strategy

This is the first slate in a little while where we don’t have a ton of plays that look incredible. With that said, these slates can often be a lot easier to make money on as every Tom, Dick, and Harry don’t know how to put together strong lineups. For Cash games tonight we know we are using some of the Piston’s value as well as Jokic if he plays. If Jokic sits then Will Barton, Aaron Gordon, Jeff Green and really anyone else who is in the core rotation for Denver looks good. We are also eager to hear the Hayes news, as the Detroit guards look fantastic for value if he sits.
