NBA DFS Advice for March 5, 2022

Joel Embiid
NEW ORLEANS, LA - APR 09: New Orleans Pelicans center Willy Hernangomez (9) fouls Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (21) during a NBA game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Philadelphia 76ers at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA on Apr 09, 2021. We only have five games tonight, but there is still a lot for us to talk about with tons of injuries. The Portland Trailblazers are missing almost all their regular rotation pieces, so there is a lot of potential for value. We are also interested in the Orlando Magic tonight, who will remain without Wendell Carter Jr. We are watching one key questionable tag for this one, as Jimmy Butler could end up out for Miami.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 3/5/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardD. Murray $10,800
Shooting GuardT. Herro $7,000
Small Forward
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward
Utility

As a DFs player it is hard not to get excited by this Hornets – Spurs matchup. They are two of the fastest-paced teams in the NBA, which means a few extra possessions down the floor. Dejounte Murray is our favorite spend option on this slate, as he really stands out at the top end. Murray has been crushing, averaging 57.7 FPTS over the past ten days. He has a ton of upside, and this kind of matchup is the perfect opportunity for him to display it.

Tyler Herro has been one of our priorities for the past few slates, as he has been crushing with Kyle Lowry sidelined. Herro is averaging over 41 FPTS across the past ten days, and he erupted for 46 FPTS in the last game. His price has risen a bit, but $7,000 is still more than fair. If we get the news that Butler will be out as well tonight, Herro will be one of our favorite options on the slate.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 3/5/22 (using DraftKings Values)

We faded Joel Embiid last time out, as he is too expensive right now with James Harden on the team. Embiid was underwhelming with 43.75 FPTS last game, and his price has come up to $11,900. Embiid has a nightmarish matchup against Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat tonight, so we are not hesitating to take our salary elsewhere.

Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…

Point Guard

Gabe Vincent – ($4,900 DK) Vincent had an off-game last time out with only 10 FPTS, but he is still playing good minutes starting in place of Lowry. Vincent has played over 30 minutes in three straight games, and he showed some nice upside with over 40 FPTS two games ago. He looks good if Butler plays, and he looks even better if he ends up out.

Shooting Guard

Malik Beasley – ($3,200 DKAnthony Edwards has missed two straight games, which has made Beasley a smash for value at this price point. We do not know if Edwards is going to play tonight, and we will look elsewhere if he does. However, Beasley is an easy priority if Edwards remains out. Beasley has gone for 33 and 28.25 FPTS respectively in the last two games, and it is surprising that his price has not moved at all.

Small Forward

Elijah Hughes – ($3,100 DK) The Portland situation is pretty tricky tonight, as with all their injuries it is very likely a few guys turn out some great value. However, it is not easy predicting who that is going to be. Hughes started in the last game, and he looks great if he starts again tonight. He is only $3,100 here, and he could see more floor time in a closer game. Hughes was awful last time with only 3 FPTS, but we cannot expect him to be so bad on the floor. If someone else starts over him they will be the priority, but he looks good if he continues to start.

Power Forward

Chuma Okeke – ($5,100 DK) Okeke saw a nice opportunity last night as he played 30 minutes with Carter Jr. sidelined. He went for 30.75 FPTS as he did a little bit of everything against the Raptors. The Magic have a solid matchup against the Grizzlies tonight, and Okeke looks great in this spot.

Center

Mo Bamba – ($5,300 DK) Bamba was underwhelming last night with 23.75 FPTS, but his minutes were limited due to foul trouble. Bamba had been productive in the past few games, and he looks great in this spot with Carter Jr. out. If Bamba can avoid foul trouble here, there is a ton of upside for him to crush in this spot.

General strategy

The Heat have a few questionable tags along with Butler tonight, so they could end up very short-handed against the Sixers. If Butler and Martin end up out, Duncan Robinson should see a nice opportunity. We also like our priorities in Herro and Vincent a lot more if Butler ends up on the bench. Good luck tonight, and make sure to keep track of our key news here.
