NBA DFS Advice for March 2, 2022

Nikola Jokic
LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 01: Denver Nuggets Forward Nikola Jokic (15) looks to make a pass over Los Angeles Clippers Center Ivica Zubac (40) during a NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 1, 2021 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. The game was played without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (Photo by Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire)

There are eight NBA games tonight, with a lot to like across the slate. The Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat have some key injuries, so they are great sources of value here. However, our interest is spread out as a lot of teams have some value to offer. We are going with a stars and scrubs lineup tonight, as the cheaper budget plays look fantastic.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 3/2/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardG. Vincent $4,200
Shooting Guard
Small ForwardA. Pokusevski $4,100
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward
Utility

Gabe Vincent started for the heat last time out with Kyle Lowry sidelined, and we expect him to start again tonight as Lowry remains out. Vincent was fantastic with 29 FPTS, and we know $4,200 is still too cheap for when Vincent is in the starting unit. He played 33 minutes last game, which is not surprising given the minutes he was playing when Lowry was out earlier in the season.

Things continue to go from bad to worse for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have now added Aaron Wiggins to their injury report. Aleksej Pokusevski saw a nice opportunity, which is not surprising given the lack of options. He turned in 34 FPTS and is still only $4,100 for tonight. It would not be surprising to see Pokusevski get the start here, but he should be in for some nice run either way.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 3/2/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Tyrese Haliburton is getting more expensive here, however, we do not expect the same for his production with Malcolm Brogdon off the injury report. Brogdon was out last game, and he has missed a lot of time lately. With him on the floor Haliburton will be sharing the ball, and he must do a lot to pay off his $8,800 salary.

Point Guard

Theo Maledon – ($3,200 DK) Maledon played 19 minutes last game, and we expect him to play more tonight as OKC goes into the game without Wiggins. Maledon went for 22.75 FPTS, which is nice value at this price. He is a guy who loves to shoot the ball when he is on the floor, so his upside is solid if he is going to get the run.

Shooting Guard

Tyler Herro – ($6,500 DK) Herro played 30 minutes last time out, and his run was limited due to a blowout win. Herro was still solid with 34.5 FPTS, and $6,500 is a fine price for him when everyone is healthy. We expect him to do a little bit more with Lowry out, so we love getting back to him tonight.

Small Forward

RJ Barrett – ($7,500 DK) The ownership might fall on Barrett given his rising price tag, but we are happy paying $7,500 given the role he is playing for the Knicks. Barrett has been the first option in New York, and it is showing up in his DFS production. He has scored over 40 FPTS in four of his past five games, showing upside of 56 and 61 FPTS in that span.

Power Forward

Kevin Love – ($5,500 DK) We do not know if Darius Garland will be able to return tonight or not, but we are getting away from Cleveland if he plays. However, we are happy getting to Love here if he remains out. Love has played inconsistent minutes lately, but we have seen him generally play a big scoring role without Garland. He went over 40 FPTS last game, and that upside is huge at this price point.

Center

Nikola Jokic – ($12,400 DK) With some of the great value options on this slate, we have enough salary to get to multiple superstars. Jokic is always a guy we are happy to have in our lineup if we can find the salary, as he is the best DFS producer in the NBA. He is still the only healthy star in Denver, so he should have to do a lot in an easy matchup tonight.

General strategy

There is a lot of value tonight, and a ton of different directions you can go with your lineups. For Cash games tonight we are locking in the Joker and surrounding him with our core value options in Vincent and Pokusevski. For tournaments we are getting to a lot of Devonte Graham, CJ McCollum, RJ Barrett, and Maledon. Keep track of the news tonight, a lot can happen with eight games.
