There is a massive 12 game NBA DFS slate for us to break down tonight, so there is going to be a lot that we need to talk about here. One team that stands out right off the bat is the Brooklyn Nets, as we know there is a lot of usage on the table with Kyrie Irving sidelined whenever they play at home. We are waiting for one key piece of news tonight, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is questionable. The Thunder look fantastic either way, but we will be stacking them pretty aggressively if SGA sits.
Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 3/16/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Small Forward | G. Antetokounmpo | $11,700 | |
Power Forward | |||

With Irving out tonight there is going to be a lot of extra minutes going around for the Nets guards. Goran Dragic should start at point guard here, and he looks fantastic at $4,200. Dragic played a whopping 38 minutes in the last Nets home game, so he has a ton of upside in this spot. Seth Curry and Cameron Thomas both sat last night, and the Nets look even better if they’re out for tonight as well.
There are a ton of options tonight at the top end, so we must be very specific with who we are spending up for. One guy that stands out is Giannis Antetokounmpo, who we love in a great matchup against Sacramento. Antetokounmpo is a little too cheap for his level of production at $11,700, and he has one of the best matchups in the league.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 3/16/22 (using DraftKings Values)
With twelve games we are never going to be able to get to everyone, so guys who do not stand out will be passed on for single entry here. One guy we are fading tonight is DeMar DeRozan who is in a tough spot tonight against the Utah Jazz. DeRozan has been good lately, but he had higher usage with his teammate Zach Lavine off the floor. Lavine is probable to go tonight, so DeRozan is too expensive at $9,600.
Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• One star guard that has been on fire lately.
• A budget guard with massive upside.
• Two stud forwards with huge usage.
• Our potential priorities if SGA is ruled out.
Point Guard
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – ($10,200 DK) This entire slate rests on SGA, as we will be very high on the Thunder if he sits. However, Gilgeous-Alexander looks like a fantastic spend-up option here if he ends up playing. The Thunder play the Spurs tonight, in what promises to be a fast-paced shootout. SGA has been doing everything offensively with Josh Giddey off the floor, so we are happy paying this inflated price tag.
Shooting Guard
Patty Mills – ($3,400 DK) Mills has been on a string of inefficient shooting nights lately, but he is getting so cheap here and we know he will see a solid opportunity with Irving off the floor. Mills has played over 30 minutes in each of the last few Brooklyn home games, and he always gets a good amount of three-point attempts off. If Mills can put together even a decent shooting game here, he will smash value at this price point.
RJ Barrett – ($7,700 DK) The price has risen significantly on Barrett, as he is $1,500 more than we were rostering him for earlier in the season. However, that price adjustment was well warranted given Barrett’s emergence as one of the NBA’s premier scorers. Barrett has amazing upside right now, stemming from his being one of the highest usage guys in the league. It is seriously jaw-dropping how many attempts Barrett takes on a nightly basis, which is music to our ears in DFS.
Kevin Durant – ($10,900 DK) Durant took something of a backseat last night, as he did not have to do much scoring with Kyrie Irving dropping 60 real points. However, Irving is not available tonight against Dallas due to the Nets playing at home. Durant always takes high usage when Irving is gone, as the Nets rely on his offense desperately. Durant’s upside is fantastic here, and he has a nice matchup against the Mavs.
Clint Capela – ($6,100 DK) The absence of John Collins over the past two games has not had the impact on Capela’s production that we typically expect it to. However, Capela has gotten into significant foul trouble in both games without Collins. We expect him to play over 30 minutes in this spot, which would give him some great upside here against the Charlotte Hornets.
General strategy
We are very eager to hear what happens with SGA tonight. If he ends up in, he will be a priority at the top end as we mentioned. However, the real value begins if Gilgeous-Alexander is ruled out. If SGA cannot go tonight Theo Maledon and Tre Mann become locks for value, as they both look solid with SGA in. We also really like getting to Aleksej Pokusevski, Darius Bazley, and Aaron Wiggins with all the extra usage going around. Good luck tonight, and make sure to keep an eye on the SGA news as it develops.
