Luka Doncic DFS

After a few shorter slates over the past few days, we have a ten-game puzzle to break down today. There is a lot going on here, and we have a lot of injuries to talk about. A few guys look great with the news we have now, but we also have some key questionable tags. We do not know if James Harden is going to play tonight, which is massive as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are both out. Malcolm Brogdon is also questionable for the Pacers, who just traded away a key piece in Caris LeVert.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 2/8/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardL. Doncic $12,200
Shooting GuardC. Thomas $4,800
Small Forward
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward
Utility

We have been getting to Luka Doncic a lot lately, as he has been dominating with a few key Mavs sidelined. Doncic is averaging 67.9 FPTS over the last ten days, and he managed to score 53.5 FPTS in the last one with fouls holding him to 27 minutes. Doncic is doing everything for the Mavericks right now, as it is the only way this team is winning any games. The Pistons are an easy matchup, and Doncic is our favorite spend-up option once again.

As we mentioned, the news of whether Harden plays is going to be huge for this slate. However, this Nets team is short-handed either way with Durant and Irving sidelined. One guy we like regardless of if Harden plays is Cameron Thomas who has been great over the past few games. We expect Thomas to play a relatively similar role with Irving out as he did with Harden out over the past two games, in which he went for 41 and 36.25 FPTS. Thomas looks great at $4,800 no matter what tonight, but he is an absolute lock if Harden sits.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 2/8/22 (using DraftKings Values)

It Seems likely the Lakers will have all their big guns tonight, which makes Russell Westbrook an easy fade for us at $9,000. Westbrook is already too expensive at this price, as he is only averaging 37.5 FPTS across the past ten days. Westbrook has not been good when this team has had huge injuries, and he has been even worse when they are all healthy.

Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• A stud guard who is way too cheap.
• One potential priority from Sacramento.
• A budget wing who is stepping up with some absent teammates.
• Our priorities if Harden sits.

Point Guard

Kevin Porter Jr. – ($5,600 DK) We really liked Porter where he was priced last time out, and he ended up putting out mediocre value with 27 FPTS. Porter shot awfully from the floor, but he had the ball a lot in 34 minutes. He has gotten even cheaper for tonight, and we love getting back to him for this matchup against the Pelicans. Porter is averaging 29.6 FPTS on the season, and that includes some stretches he was dealing with injuries. He has his upside a lot lately, making him a no-brainer under $6,000.

Shooting Guard

Davion Mitchell – ($5,400 DK) The Sacramento Kings have been without De’Aaron Fox for the past eight games, and he is questionable for tonight. It appears Fox will be ready to rejoin the team soon, so we have to monitor this news. However, if Fox remains out, we are going right back to Mitchell. He has been playing a massive role for the Kings, as he is averaging 31.5 FPTS over the past ten days. His high usage gives him fantastic upside, and he has been showing a great floor for this price point.

Small Forward

Ben Mclemore – ($3,500 DK) The Portland Trailblazers traded away a few key pieces recently, and none of the guys that they got back are ready to go yet. Damian Lillard is also sidelined here, so a lot of Blazers are being asked to step up. Mclemore played 28 minutes last game and he put up thirteen attempts. He was solid with 28.5 FPTS, and we expect a similar opportunity tonight. At only $3,500 here, we will be getting to him a lot for value.

Power Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo – ($11,800 DK) If Harden plays, we will rather get to Harden at $11,200 than Antetokounmpo. However, Antetokounmpo still looks great in this spot. We know he is one of the best DFS producers in the NBA and $11,800 is a fair price to pay for him. The Lakers are a great matchup, and hopefully, with everyone healthy they can keep things close.

Center

Clint Capela – ($5,500 DK) Capela has struggled lately, which has led his price to drop around $2,000. Although he has not been effective, we expect him to turn it around at some point. He is averaging 32.9 FPTS on the season, so he has a ton of upside at this price. Capela is a bit too unreliable here for Cash games, but we love him for tournaments.

General strategy

This entire slate is resting on the Harden news, as that will dictate who we want to get to. We love Harden if he plays, as he will have the opportunity to go for one of his famous triple-doubles with the other stars sidelined. If Harden sits, Thomas becomes an absolute lock. We also love getting to Patty Mills, Kessler Edwards, and whoever else starts for Brooklyn. Good luck with this one, and make sure to keep an eye out for news.
