This is our third five-game NBA slate in a row, as we have another interesting one to break down here. There is not a ton of value on tonight’s slate, but there is more than enough if you know where to look. We are going right back to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have had a lot of guys step up in the absence of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. We also really like the Toronto Raptors here, who offer some great price tags with a matchup against the fast-paced Hornets.

Power Forward | D. Bazley | $5,400 | |

Utility |
Fred VanVleet is going to be playing in his first all-star game this season, which is not surprising given how productive he has been. VanVleet is averaging 43.6 FPTS on the season so far, and that average has been going up over the past month. VanVleet went for 50 FPTS last time out, and he always has enough usage for crazy upside. The Hornets are the best matchup to target on this slate, so we like spending up for the Toronto studs.
Gilgeous-Alexander has been sidelined for the past five games, which has led to some nice opportunities for a few Thunder guys. Darius Bazley has been great in the four games without SGA, and he is too cheap here at $5,400. Bazley is averaging over 30 FPTS since they have been missing SGA, as he has played 36-37 minutes in competitive games. Bazley has a lot of upside in this spot, and he looks even better if Lu Dort is out for another game.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 2/7/22 (using DraftKings Values)
Nikola Vucevic has had a few big games recently, but that has led to his five-digit price tag of $10,100. Vucevic is only averaging 42.7 FPTS on the season, so he is too expensive in this spot. Furthermore, we are happy with some of the Bulls here. They played a tough game shorthanded last night, and we must expect them to be a bit gassed.

Point Guard
Tre Mann – ($4,900 DK) Mann has been priced up significantly, but that was more than warranted given the role that he is playing. He has stepped into SGA’s role as the starting point guard for the Thunder, as he has been playing over 30 minutes with high usage in every game. His usage has just been getting better, as we saw he was able to go over 26 FPTS in the last game on awful efficiency. If Mann can put together a good shooting night, he will be one of the best plays on the slate.
Shooting Guard
Kelly Oubre Jr. – ($5,300 DK) Oubre was slightly disappointing in the last one with only 21 FPTS, but he continued to take massive usage with 15 attempts from the field. He has been amazing for the past week, going for 38.75, 32.25, and 58.25 FPTS in the three games before last. He is averaging over 30 FPTS across the past ten days and looks fantastic at $5,300.
Gordon Hayward – ($5,000 DK) Staying with the Charlotte Hornets, Hayward looks fantastic tonight at the cheapest price tag we are ever going to see on him. Hayward has had two games back from injury. He played 29 minutes in the first and only 22 minutes in a massive blowout loss in the last game. We expect him to play over 30 minutes if this one stays close, and he is too cheap as a guy averaging over 30 FPTS on the season.
Pascal Siakam – ($9,200 DK) Siakam has been on fire lately for the Raptors, going for 45 or more FPTS in each of the past five games. He has gone over 50 FPTS in three of those games, with upside over 60 FPTS. We have seen Siakam take a bigger role on this squad when everyone is healthy, as he has emerged as a clear leader next to VanVleet. Siakam is a bit too cheap considering how good he has been, and as we have mentioned this is a great matchup.
Mamadi Diakite – ($3,700 DK) Diakite has been priced up $700 but he is still very cheap for a starting center. He has scored 18, 29.75, and 19 FPTS respectively in the three games he has started. His floor is fantastic in this situation, and he opens a ton of salary. We also know he can easily show some upside as we saw two games ago.
General strategy
This is a very interesting slate, as there is a lot of value, but it is not as obvious as more injury-riddled nights. It is worth mentioning some of the questionable tags here, as a lot more value could be created. Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are both questionable, so guys like Kyle Lowry would look great if they both sit. We are also waiting on what happens with Dort, as all our OKC priorities look even better if he ends up out. Good luck tonight and keep an eye on the news that breaks.
