We have got a massive eleven-game NBA slate to break down for tonight, as there is a lot for us to look at here. Whenever we have most of the league playing in one night there are a ton of options, and the injuries just take things over the top tonight. We were all over the Indiana Pacers last night, and they look great again as their prices have not moved much. We are also going to the Brooklyn Nets, who are going to be very short-handed for another home game.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 2/16/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point Guard
Shooting Guard
Small ForwardS. Curry $5,700
Power Forward
CenterC. Capela $5,300
Guard
Forward
Utility

The Brooklyn Nets have been dealing with a slew of injuries all season, and they are as gutted as ever right now. Kyrie Irving will be sidelined here, as he always is when the Nets play at home. Also, Ben Simmons is still inactive after Brooklyn traded James Harden for him. Newly acquired Seth Curry is the best player available for the Nets, and frankly it’s not even close. Curry shot the ball 18 times in his first outing as a Net, as he went for 38.75 FPTS. He should be in for another massive opportunity tonight, and he is far too cheap at $5,700.

Clint Capela was a priority for us last night, and he was somewhat disappointing with only 21.25 FPTS. However, Capela continued to play over 30 minutes in the absence of John Collins. Capela has been a star-level DFS producer for years, so we have to expect this funk of his to end at some point. We love getting back to him with the minutes he is playing, as $5,300 is just a great price tag.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 2/16/22 (using DraftKings Values)

With all the Lakers stars healthy, Russell Westbrook has been even less productive over the past few weeks. He has not hit the 40 FPT mark in four games, as he remains way too expensive at $8,700. Westbrook takes a backseat to the other two stars when they can play, and his efficiency has been awful all season.

Point Guard

Trae Young – ($9,400 DK) We have some great budget options tonight, which leaves us with enough salary to get to a few stars. Young has been great lately, scoring over 55 FPTS in three of his past four outings. He went for over 60 FPTS in a tough matchup last night and faces a much weaker Orlando defense tonight. Young is averaging 49.1 FPTS on the season, so this is a great price to pay for him.

Shooting Guard

Quentin Grimes – ($4,100 DK) The New York Knicks have been without RJ Barrett for the past few nights, which has led to two straight starts for Grimes. He played at least 37 minutes in both games, scoring 35.5 and 35.75 FPTS respectively. His usage has been high, as the Knicks do not have a lot of options right now. The price on Grimes is way to low here, so he is one of our favorite options for value.

Small Forward

Buddy Hield – ($6,200 DK) Hield was a priority for us last night, as he has taken on a huge role since joining the Pacers. He ended up crushing as the best play on the slate with 49 FPTS, and this is looking like our last chance to roster him before he is priced up. Hield had to do even more with Chris Duarte sidelined, as he has taken on a huge role in every game since joining the Pacers. We expect him to do a lot again tonight, so he remains a priority.

Power Forward

Bruce Brown – ($4,000 DK) The Brooklyn Nets are going to be very short-handed in home games until either Kevin Durant or Ben Simmons can play. In the meantime, there will be a ton of value to be had in DFS. Brown started and played 37.6 FPTS last game, as he exploded for 52 FPTS. We can’t expect that kind of production from him again, but we do expect him to start and see a lot of floor time. He is still very cheap here and is a great budget option overall.

Center

Deandre Ayton – ($6,800 DK) Ayton has a ton of upside, so we are interested in him whenever he is under $7,000. The Suns have one of the best matchups possible tonight against Houston, so Ayton becomes a priority for us. The Rockets struggle to stop centers, and Ayton has been known to crush in the right matchup.

General strategy

There is a tremendous amount of value tonight, as a few teams like the Pacers and Nets are running totally gutted rosters. For Cash games tonight we are going to lock in our value priorities, which are Grimes, Hield, Brown, and Curry. The top end of the slate is a bit tougher, but Young is a priority for us. We do not feel a need to get quite as different for tournaments tonight, as with eleven games guys are always less owned than you expect.
