NBA DFS Advice for February 12, 2022

Kristaps Porzingis
LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 06: Dallas Mavericks center Kristaps Porzingis (6) shoots during game 7 of the first round of the NBA Western Conference Playoffs between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Clippers on June 06, 2021, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. We have a lot to talk about for tonight’s ten-game NBA DFS slate, as a whole slew of guys are playing their first game in a new jersey. The Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings are our favorite sources of value at first glance, but there is a lot we like across the slate. We are going to another stars and scrubs lineup tonight, as the huge deadline deals have left us with some fantastic DFS value under $4,000.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 2/12/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point Guard
Shooting GuardD. Vassell $4,200
Small Forward
Power Forward
CenterK. Porzingis $7,100
Guard
Forward
Utility

There is a lot of extra opportunity on the Spurs, with Derrick White traded away and Josh Richardson still unavailable. Devin Vassell played 28.1 minutes last time out, and he was great with 33.75 FPTS. Vassell had to play more minutes without White, and his usage was fantastic. Vassell is averaging 27 FPTS across the past ten days at this point, so this $4,200 price tag looks fantastic.

The Wizards just traded away Spencer Dinwiddie for Kristaps Porzingis, and they are generally short-handed with Bradley Beal out for the season. Porzingis should be taking some massive usage here, and we must expect him to get a ton of run at center given the lack of options. He is built for double-doubles in this spot, and he is coming in at a fantastic price of $7,100. Porzingis is not playing with a Luka Doncic caliber player anymore, so there is more opportunity for him to take over games.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 2/12/22 (using DraftKings Values)

There are a ton of amazing spend-up options to choose between tonight, so guys must look great for us to be interested. Steph Curry always has great upside, but he is a bit too expensive at $10,300. We need Curry to go for a huge game at this price, and we can get that upside from a much safer play elsewhere.

Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• One budget guard who should be in for some nice floor time.
• A few cheap wings that have great upside.
• A cheap center that has been great the past few games.
• Our general strategy for handling such a big slate.

Point Guard

Facundo Campazzo – ($3,000 DK) The Denver Nuggets were without Monte Morris last time, and he is sidelined again for tonight. Campazzo had to play way more minutes in his absence, with 29 minutes on the floor. He played a nice role, and he went for 28 FPTS. He is only $3,000 here because his last game was last night, so DK hasn’t had the chance to price him up based on the performance.

Shooting Guard

Furkan Korkmaz – ($3,900 DK) We really liked Korkmaz in the last one as the Sixers are short-handed after trading for James Harden. He was a bit disappointing with 14.3 FPTS, but he played 29 minutes. We know he is typically more productive with that much floor time, and we expect similar minutes for him tonight as Harden remains out.

Small Forward

Cameron Thomas – ($5,400 DK) The price is slowly creeping up on Thomas, but he is still way too cheap for the role that he has been playing for the Nets. He has been taking massive usage as the second option after Kyrie Irving, which has led to his scoring 41, 36.25, 28,.75, and 37.5 FPTS respectively across the past four games. Seth Curry may be able to take the court for the Nets tonight, in which case we would look away from Thomas.

Power Forward

Aaron Gordon – ($5,700 DK) Gordon was a priority for us last night because of his price, and he is still too cheap tonight. The Nuggets are short-handed right now, and Gordon is being asked to do a lot. He is averaging 32.2 FPTS over the past ten days, after his third straight game over 30 FPTS last night.

Center

Mo Bamba – ($4,800 DK) Bamba has been somewhat unproductive over the past few weeks, but that has caused his price to reduce dramatically. He has been turning it around over the past few games with back-to-back 30 plus FPT outings. His minutes saw some nice floor time last game, and we expect that to continue going forward.

General strategy

There is a lot going on here, and a ton of strong options across the board. Our challenge here is having tons of priorities at every position, as we can’t get to everyone. We know we need upside on these slates, so that is what we are looking for tonight. We want a lineup full of guys that have a reasonable path to a huge night, as we will likely need somewhere in the 400 FPT range to take home tournaments here. Make sure to keep an eye on the news, as with ten games anything can happen.
