Joel Embiid

The NBA had a crazy day yesterday, with a bunch of huge trades right before the deadline. There is a lot going on between the seven games on tonight’s slate, as all the guys who have been recently traded are still unavailable. Between that and the injuries we have in the league right now, tons of rotation guys are being asked to step up. We are looking at a more stars and scrubs style build here, as some of our favorite plays are under $5,000.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 2/11/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Point Guard
Shooting GuardL. Walker IV $4,200
Small Forward
Power Forward
CenterJ. Embiid $11,900
Guard
Forward
Utility

The San Antonio Spurs traded one of their top options in Derrick White yesterday, so there should be some extra opportunity for the bench guards tonight. Lonnie Walker IV is the guy we expect to see the biggest boost, and he is coming in at only $4,200. Walker is likely to step into the starting unit here, and we expect him to see some nice floor time. This matchup between the Spurs and Hawks should be a fast-paced battle, so we are happy to get some exposure to it.

The Philadelphia 76ers shook up the NBA yesterday when they traded Ben Simmons and Seth Curry for James Harden. Harden will not be with the Sixers yet, so they are short-handed with the guys they traded away. Embiid has been fantastic lately, earning himself his spot as the frontrunner in the MVP race. He is averaging over 60 FPTS across the past ten days and has an easy matchup against OKC tonight. Tyrese Maxey is questionable here, and Embiid would look even better if he sits.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 2/11/22 (using DraftKings Values)

The Cleveland Cavaliers recently added to their squad by adding Caris LeVert. As a result, the Cavs look weak for DFS in general here as there is another cook in the kitchen. LeVert is an easy fade for us at $8,600, and we aren’t high on any of their studs tonight.

Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• One superstar guard with a great matchup.
• A cheap wing who should be in for a ton of minutes tonight.
• Two forwards that are way too cheap for their recent production.
• Some key questionable tags to watch tonight.

Point Guard

Trae Young – ($9,900 DK) Young is expensive here, but we have a lot of salary to play around with from some of our budget priorities. Young has been great all season, averaging 49.1 FPTS. He went for 55.75 FPTS last game, and we know his upside is a lot higher than that. The Hawks have a fantastic matchup against the Spurs tonight, so we are happy to spend up for Young.

Shooting Guard

Furkan Korkmaz – ($3,800 DK) The Sixers are going to be without a few usual bodies because of their trades, so we expect Korkmaz to see some extra minutes. He is very cheap here, so he looks fantastic. We saw his price rise significantly the last time Curry was sidelined, so we know this is a great opportunity to roster him. Like Embiid, Korkmaz becomes a lock for us if Maxey sits.

Small Forward

Luguentz Dort – ($6,300 DK) Dort has been a priority for us over the past few weeks, as he has taken on some massive usage in the absence of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. As SGA remains out, Dort is way too cheap at this price point. He had his first disappointing game of the stretch last time out, but that could be chalked up to a 28 percent shooting night. He went over 35 FPTS in every other outing, and we can’t expect him to shoot so badly again.

Power Forward

Aaron Gordon – ($5,600 DK) Gordon has been fantastic lately, so it was a bit surprising to see him come in at such a fantastic price tag tonight. Gordon went for 38 FPTS in the last game, and he is averaging 33.8 FPTS over the past ten days. He is far too cheap given how productive he has been, so he looks great here on the hobbled Nuggets.

Center

Goga Bitadze – ($4,700 DK) Domantas Sabonis was just traded to the Sacramento Kings, which means the Indiana frontcourt has got a lot thinner. Bitadze started in the last game, and he played 30 minutes, which is the kind of role we expect him to take on again tonight. He was great last time with 30 FPTS, and he looks great with the lack of big men on this team.

General strategy

We are waiting on some huge questionable tags tonight, so watching out as news breaks will be key. Maxey is instrumental here as if he is out the Sixers become open season for value. Jalen Suggs is another name we are watching for, as we are happy going back to Cole Anthony if he sits. Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell are both questionable as well, so we must see what happens on the Timberwolves. Good luck with this one, and make sure to keep an eye on the news that will break throughout the day.
