NBA DFS Advice for December 6, 2021

Nikola Jokic
LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 01: Denver Nuggets Forward Nikola Jokic (15) looks to make a pass over Los Angeles Clippers Center Ivica Zubac (40) during a NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 1, 2021 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. The game was played without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (Photo by Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire)

We have nine games to breakdown for tonight’s NBA DFS slate, and there is a lot to like here. We have a ton of value on this slate, as a few teams have some big injuries. The top-end also looks good tonight, with a lot of our favorite superstar targets available for this one. The value is ridiculous from the Charlotte Hornets tonight, as all the guys who were priced up for the injuries have been priced back down for no reason. Everyone on Charlotte is priced as if the whole team was healthy, while LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Mason Plumlee, and Jalen McDaniel’s are all out.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 12/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardI. Smith $3,400
Shooting Guard
Small Forward
Power Forward
CenterN. Jokic $12,000
Guard
Forward
Utility

You are not going to see many situations where we have a lock as clear as Ish Smith tonight. Smith is one of the only guards left on this roster with Ball and Rozier out, and we saw him play 32 minutes last game. He was priced up preemptively before last game, as he cost $4,800. However, the price has come all the way back down to $3,400 here. Smith went for over 37 FPTS last game, and at $3,400 it is hard to imagine him disappointing us. He is an absolute lock for Cash games, and we will have him locked in for tournaments as well at this price.

With tons of amazing budget options tonight, we will be able to roster a few superstars without concern. Nikola Jokic is the first guy we are looking at here at $12.000, as he looks great in this matchup with the Bulls. The Bulls play pretty fast, and they are not great at defending inside, and with their offense, Jokic will have to do a lot to keep this competitive. Jokic is expensive at $12,000, but we have no problem finding the spare salary tonight.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 12/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)

The fades on DraftKings are getting easier and easier with the way some guys have been priced. Some studs are just getting more expensive despite only hitting value a few times all season. We have two fades who are just flagrantly priced at this point, and we are completely passing on. Nikola Vucevic was our fade a few slates ago when he was priced up to $9,300. He failed to hit value on that slate and completely busted last game with only 22 FPTS. However, he is more expensive than ever tonight at $9,700. Vucevic is averaging less than 39 FPTS this year, which is no surprise as he is playing with a lot of scorers. The other easy fade for us is Paul George, who we have been hard fading for a while. The last big game for George escapes memory but that has not stopped his price from rising. It is hard to justify paying $10,600 for a guy who is not performing like the other top-end options.

Now what do you get if you sign up now for $99? • A guard option who is taking on a massive role here. • A few more priorities from the Charlotte Hornets. • A Stud big man who is too cheap tonight. • A breakdown of our general strategy for the night. Point Guard

Dennis Smith Jr. – PG ($5,300 DK) Smith has been priced up to $1,900 since the last game, but the bump is more than justified with the current guard situation in Portland. Both Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons are sidelined right now, so Smith is left with a ton of minutes. He crushed in 36.5 minutes last game, going for 41.5 FPTS. He is going to see another huge opportunity tonight, and we are happy paying the premium price on him.

Shooting Guard

Kelly Oubre Jr. ($5,800 DK) Most of the Hornets were too cheap with all the injuries last time out, and they all have been priced down for tonight. We saw a huge opportunity last time out for Oubre, as he got up 17 shot attempts in 39 minutes. Oubre went for 39.75 FPTS last game, and we would not be surprised to see that upside again in this spot. There are a lot of great plays tonight, and at this price, Oubre is among the best.

Small Forward

Cody Martin ($3,900 DK) If you are playing Cash games tonight, we have no problem getting to four Hornets here, as look better than anyone else for value. Martin is another smash play, who has been priced down $1,000 for no reason tonight. Martin played 32 minutes last game and went for 37.5 FPTS. At his $3,900 price tonight, all he needs to do is see a small boost from when everyone is healthy to be a crush value. There is very little risk with this price tag, and Martin is another Hornets lock for us.

Power Forward

Miles Bridges ($7,700 DK) Bridges was a core play for us last time out at $700 more because we expected a big scoring night from him with Ball and Rozier out. Bridges ended up going for over 50 FPTS last game, and the fact he is cheaper tonight makes him a smash play. Bridges has insane upside with all the guys sidelined, and at this point, he is priced for his season production of 39.2 FPTS per game.

Center

Evan Mobley – ($6,600 DK) Mobley is getting too cheap here, and we can play him at either center or power forward. He showed another good game last time out with over 39 FPTS, and he is consistently playing over 35 minutes per game right now. The Bucks are a nice matchup, and Mobley should be able to feast inside if Giannis Antetokounmpo remains out. Regardless of if the Freak plays, we like getting to Mobley in this spot.

General strategy

Do not get cute if you are playing Cash games tonight, just play the Hornets. Put in as many Hornets as your DFS site will allow, as the value anywhere else on the slate does not compare. Even for tournaments tonight, we like taking the approach of playing a lot of these Charlotte guys. Each of these guys hit value last time out, and they are all cheaper tonight. So, we are not too worried about these guys cannibalizing each other if we get too many of them. However, the ownership will be crazy on these guys. For large field GPP’s, we are happy keeping it to two Hornets and playing more value from the Thunder and Blazers. Good luck tonight and keep an eye out on the news. With nine games who knows what else could break.
