There are only five games for tonight’s NBA DFS slate, but there is a lot to like with a couple shorthanded teams here. The first place we are going to look for value tonight is the Portland Trailblazers, who are going to be without Damian Lillard for a little while. The Blazers are also missing Nasir Little and Norman Powell could remain sidelined. We also have a ton of value on the Phoenix Suns, who will be playing without Devin Booker. We can put a fantastic lineup together with all the value from Phoenix and Portland here, and we don’t have too many plays too choose from like on bigger slates.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 12/2/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardA. Simons $4,900
Shooting Guard
Small Forward
Power Forward
CenterG. Antetokounmpo $12,000
Guard
Forward
Utility

Whenever Lillard is out Anfernee Simons is one of the first options we look to for value. Simons is more expensive then usual in this spot at $4,900, but he has been very productive across the past three games. He has played at least 29 minutes in each of the last three, scoring 29, 31.25, and 37 FPTS in three games respectively. Simons played 36 minutes last time out, and we expect him to play over 30 minutes again without Lillard.

We only have five games to go after tonight, and we don’t have as many superstars as we usually do. Giannis Antetokounmpo stands out as the only real superstar option on this slate. His $12,000 price is the only five-digit tag on the slate, but he also averages 9 FPTS more then anyone else who plays tonight. Antetokounmpo will be the first star we are building around for Cash games tonight, and we will be getting to him a lot in tournaments as well.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 12/2/21 (using DraftKings Values)

When everyone is healthy for the Chicago Bulls the floors are too low to justify any of the stars in cash games. One guy who we are fading on entirely tonight is Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic went off last game for over 60 FPTS, but that was one of the first big games we have seen from in in a Bulls uniform. Vucevic is $9,300 tonight which is way too much for a guy averaging under 40 FPTS a game. There may be a bit of ownership going to Vucevic because of how good he was last time, which is even more reason to fade him in this spot.

Now what do you get if you sign up now for $99?
• A stud guard who should take on extra usage tonight.
• One budget option we like from the Suns.
• A cheap center who has been playing crazy minutes.
• The rest of our priorities from Phoenix and Portland.

Point Guard

Chris Paul– PG ($8,600 DK) Paul is one of our favorite plays on the slate in this spot without Booker. The Suns do not have a lot of high-volume offensive options outside of there star backcourt, so Paul should have to do everything for them in this spot. He went for 50 FPTS with Booker only playing 15 FPTS last time out and he can easily show that kind of upside again tonight. Paul really stands out above most of the other stars we can pay up for tonight, and we are going to have a lot of good value.

Shooting Guard

Derrick Rose  ($4,800 DK) The Knicks have recently announced that they are shutting down Kemba Walker. Rose should be in for a lot more minutes here, as we have seen him hit the 30 minutes mark two games in a row. Rose is too cheap if he is going to see any kind of minutes bump in Walkers absence, as he is a good per minute producer. If this one stays close with Chicago Rose could be in for well over 30 minutes and some great value.

Small Forward

Landry Shamet  ($3,100 DK) The small forward position is pretty weak tonight so we like getting to the budget option in Shamet here. Shamet saw some nice run last game after Booker got hurt, playing 24 minutes. We expect him to play solid minutes again tonight and he does not need to do much to hit value at this price. A small boost to Shamet’s normal production can make him a nice value in this spot.

Power Forward

Jae Crowder  ($4,300 DK) All the Suns starters look good tonight, as no one is expensive and everyone has the chance to see some nice usage with Booker out. Crowder went for 27 FPTS with Booker going down last game, and he saw some of the highest usage he has had all season with eleven field goal attempts.

Center

Precious Achiuwa – ($4,600 DK) Achiuwa was one of the most popular plays for the last slate, and he ended up disappointing with only 10.75 FPTS. We expect Achiuwa to go totally overlooked here because of how bad he was last game. But we love this spot for tournaments. This is the kind of value we are looking for in GPP’s, as we can buy low on a guy who was very popular in this same situation.

General strategy

If you are playing Cash games tonight, the lineup really feels like it builds itself. We love using Antetokounmpo at the top end, along with Paul and CJ McCollum. Those three along with all the value we have from Phoenix and Portland is definitely going to be the foundation for our Cash lineups tonight. We don’t mind getting away from the Suns and Blazers in big tournaments as all the ownership will be going there. We like getting to the OKC value as an alternative for GPP’s.
