The NBA is absolutely ravaged by injuries right now, so there is a lot we must talk about for this nine-game slate. We know whenever we have this many injuries that value is going to be very easy to find, and the challenge is always choosing between a ton of strong plays. Our favorite teams to go after here are going to be the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks, as Paul George and Luka Doncic are both out. Our free plays tonight will focus on absolute priorities from the Mavericks Clippers, as well as one fade for tonight’s slate. Our premium content will really focus on all the injuries on the slate, and more injuries that we could see before lock.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 12/13/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardR. Jackson $5,900
Shooting GuardJ. Brunson $5,800
Small Forward
Power Forward
Center
Guard
Forward
Utility

Paul George has been out for two games now, and we have seen some comical usage out of Reggie Jackson in his absence. Jackson is shooting the ball over 20 times a game without George, so obviously, his upside is sky-high. He shot an awful 27 percent in the first one without PG, but he still went for 29 FPTS with all the usage. He went for 36 FPTS last game, and he is way too cheap at $5,900. Jackson is a chalk play tonight, and not one we are getting away from.

Jalen Brunson was an absolute lock last time once we found out Doncic was out, and nothing changes tonight with his $5,800 price tag. Brunson had one of his weakest Doncic-less performances of the season last time out, but he still went for over 33 FPTS. Brunson has a massive role for this team when Doncic sits, and he has no business being under $7,000 in these spots.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 12/13/21 (using DraftKings Values)

It never feels good to fade Steph Curry, but his $11,400 price tag is just hard to get to compared to other top-end guys. We have a ton of options tonight, and we have two superstars that look much better than Curry at a similar price point. We also have some spend-up options that are $3,000 – $4,000 less than Curry in this spot. If you are playing 50 or more lineups, play some Curry. However, that is the only situation we suggest getting to him tonight.

Now, what do you get if you sign up now for $99?
• A star guard with colossal upside.
• A budget option playing massive minutes.
• A few priorities with all the injuries from Toronto.
• A stud center who has been crushing lately.

Point Guard

Kyle Lowry – PG ($8,000 DK) Lowry has been priced up significantly, so he isn’t quite as good a value as when Jimmy Butler was first ruled out. However, he still looks great with the role he is playing right now. Lowry has seen massive usage, as he is initiating a lot of the offensive sets for Miami right now. He has gone for over 46 FPTS twice in a row now, and there is upside for him to have that 50 FPT night.

Shooting Guard

Gary Trent Jr. ($6,000 DK) Trent has been crushing lately, as he must play a massive role for the Raptors in the absence of OG Anunoby. Trent has been hot lately, going for 39.5 and 34.5 FPTS respectively in his last two games. We are happy taking Raptors with this matchup tonight against the Sacramento Kings, so Trent looks great here.

Small Forward

Terance Mann  ($4,400 DK) Mann is way too cheap with all the minutes he is playing right now. Mann consistently plays well over 30 minutes when George sits, and that is really all we need to know at this price. He went for 26 and 33.75 FPTS in the two without George, so it’s surprising he is not more expensive for this one.

Power Forward

Chris Boucher  ($4,300 DK) The Raptors are absolutely gutted inside right now, as they are missing both their usual centers in Precious Achiuwa and Khem Birch. Boucher is back in the rotation for Toronto, as his minutes have only gone up. He went for 26 FPTS in 27 minutes last game, and he looks fantastic if he is going to play that much time against the Kings.

Center

Nikola Jokic – ($12,000 DK) We need someone to soke up all the salary we are saving with all these value plays, and Jokic is the perfect guy to do it. Jokic has been on fire lately, with two games over 70 FPTS in his last three outings. Jokic has gone over 60 FPTS four games in a row, and the Washington centers have no hope of slowing him down. His production is the best in the league, and salary is a non-issue tonight.

General strategy

As we mentioned in the introduction the biggest challenge on this slate is deciding between great value plays. We have a lot of guys to choose from who are underpriced with injured teammates. The value options we laid out in our premium content will be our core alongside Jokic for Cash games, as those guys stand out above the crowd for there roles. Brunson and Jackson will be priorities in any type of contest for us tonight, as they look that good. Make sure to keep an eye on the news here, as we would bet something else is going to be announced before lock.
