Nikola Jokic
LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 01: Denver Nuggets Forward Nikola Jokic (15) looks to make a pass over Los Angeles Clippers Center Ivica Zubac (40) during a NBA game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 1, 2021 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. The game was played without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (Photo by Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire)

There are six NBA games for us to break down tonight, and there is a lot to like here. Our plays hit well last night across the board, and we are feeling great about this one. There is a ton of value at the bottom end tonight, as a few guys are in for extra minutes with sidelined teammates. We have one superstar who is going to be the key spend up tonight, so we are going to build around him like we did with Giannis Antetokounmpo yesterday. Our core plays today will cover our superstar priority as well as one budget play that stands out tonight. Our premium content will cover more the rest of our priorities, as well as some general strategy for this one.

Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 12/11/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point Guard
Shooting Guard
Small ForwardT. Davis $3,700
Power Forward
CenterN. Jokic $11,900
Guard
Forward
Utility

Terence Davis has been very popular lately, as he has been crushing and his price has remained low. Davis has gone over the 20 FPT mark in each of the past seven games, and he has hit 37 or more FPTS in three of the past four. Davis went for 38 FPTS last game, and he is even cheaper tonight at $3,700. Davis only played 22 minutes last game, but he got up seventeen shot attempts. He has been taking some serious usage lately as a top option for the Kings. Davis will be high owned again, but there is not much upside in fading him at this price.

The stars at the very top of this slate do not look nearly as good as the budget plays, but Nikola Jokic really stands out. Jokic has been fantastic lately, as he has to do everything for this Denver team. Jokic has scored 62, 72,75, and 63.75 FPTS in each of his last three games. The Nuggets have a fantastic matchup with the Spurs tonight, so we are betting on another big night from Jokic. With all the value available tonight, it is very likely we are going to need the raw FPTS from the Joker here.

Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 12/11/21 (using DraftKings Values)

We have seen the price come way down on Bradley Beal, so we expect him to be somewhat popular at $8,500 tonight. However, we are still happy fading Beal in this spot. Beal still needs to hit his shots at a great rate to hit value, and we have not been seeing that from him. Beal has not been showing nearly as much upside as he showed last season, so with a lot of strong plays elsewhere we are happy fading him tonight.

Now, what do you get if you sign up now for $99?
• A star guard in the perfect situation.
• Two cheap forwards to that look great for salary savings.
• A budget center with great upside here.
• Our general strategy based on some late news.

Point Guard

Kyle Lowry – PG ($7,700 DK) It is going to be key to see what the Heat does with there starting lineup tonight. We know Jimmy Butler will be sidelined again, which has led to some big Lowry nights. We saw Herro come off the bench last time, if Herro starts here we will like him more then Lowry. However, if Lowry continues as the lone stud in the starting lineup for this team is he is still way too cheap. Lowry is taking on a massive role offensively, and we know he is a great DFS producer when given the chance.

Shooting Guard

Caleb Martin ($3,500 DK) We have seen Martin get the starting nod for the Heat recently, and he has been playing a lot of minutes. He was the best play on the slate last time out with 49 FPTS in 34 minutes. He is too cheap for the role he is playing as a starter for this team and will be a budget priority if he continues to start tonight.

Small Forward

Dillon Brooks   ($6,000 DK) We got the news this morning that Brooks is going to be able to play for the Grizzlies tonight. Brooks is a priority here, as this is the cheapest he has been since Ja Morant got hurt. Brooks is a guy we are going to get to a lot here, as we want a piece of Memphis with a dream matchup against the Houston Rockets. A few Grizzlies are too expensive for when Brooks is on the floor here, so he is the obvious priority. Brooks has fantastic upside right now, as we know he can go for 40-50 FPTS.

Power Forward

Deni Avdija  ($3,400 DK) We know that Kyle Kuzma is out for the Wizards tonight. As Kuzma has not missed much time this season, we are eager to see who starts in his place for Washington. Based on this team’s rotation it is likely we see the nod go to Avdija, he will be a fantastic value if so. Avdija is currently priced fairly for his production, but we will expect a huge minute’s bump if he starts.

Center

Tristan Thompson – ($3,500 DK) The Kings went small yesterday with Richaun Holmes out, but that was not a surprise as a few of the Charlotte Hornets were ruled out. The Kings play against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, who always give good minutes to two big men. We expect the Kings must play their centers a lot more run tonight, and Thompson is too cheap. Thompson played 21 minutes last time out, and he could easily hit value with that kind of floor time. However, there is potential for him to see a lot more floor time, so we love the upside here.

General strategy

We have a similar approach to our lineup as we did last night. Where we built our Antetokounmpo and Garland for the last one, we are building around Jokic and Lowry for tonight. We are waiting on that Heat starting lineup, as we would pivot from Lowry to Herro if Herro is inserted back into the starting unit. We just got the news that Eric Gordon is out tonight, so we are interested to see what starting unit the Rockets go with. Armoni Brooks and Garrison Mathews both look good for value, as they had already been playing solid minutes. Make sure to keep an eye on the news here, as there are a few ways that this slate can be shaken up.
